The committees arent perfect, you can look at whose on it and half of them probably dont even watch football. We do need to get rid of the Marist professors and directors of community relations on the committee and get actual football people on there with more balance instead of overloading it for one conference like it is now.
That said the 12 teams is a big improvement over the 4 and especially over when it was 2. We got robbed of seeing LSU and Southern Cal having to play to see who the real champion was in 2003 from the dumb system back then. The biggest change that needs to happen is getting rid of the automatic byes for 5 conference champs. At most it should be 4, G5 teams dont deserve a bye. It would be nice to get rid of the bye all together which might happen with the expansion to 16 that is expected. Im fine with the Power 4 champ getting an automatic bid into the playoffs.
The other big thing though is week 0 probably needs to be a real week. January 20th is just to late for the CFP final. The spring semester has already started and you still have teams playing from the year before that their players now have 30 days in the transfer portal. They need to try and align it better with the semester schedule which wont be an easy task

It's so cold here that school was cancelled for my kids tomorrow. If the furnace goes out....
You must be way up north - schools around Fargo are only 2 hrs late (right now temp is -18 and wind chill is -40)
Outside of MPLS. It's not really that bad out today... Sun's out and very little wind. I think they would have survived. When I was a kid, this would have been a great day to take the sleds out on Winnebago. I'll be up-nor-der in Fargo for the Regional for hockey end of March - Looking forward to getting a Kroll's shake. First time I'll be taking both my boys to see some D1.
I was reminded of a Tom Segura joke about how - when you flush a toilet in Arkansas it bubbles up in Louisiana.
that's actually quite humorous. i'm gonna have to remember that one -- and pass it off as my own creation.
if anyone here lives in Louisiana or has roots there, apologies in advance. but when i say it's a sketchy place you know the truth is being told. in fact, prior to this post i looked up the most dangerous states in the union and Louisiana was looking up at no one in the rankings. numero uno.
that said, true story...
two years ago my dad and i went to The Masters. he had some pit stops planned, so we took an odyssey via wheels from Texas to Georgia. i handled other parts of the itinerary, like where we were going to call home for a night. when i was scouring cities/towns for a place to stay off of I-20 in Louisiana, i'd check the crime rate prior to anything else.
off the charts. all of them.
ultimately decided that it really didn't matter based on my findings, so Shreveport it was. we rolled in late and were bushed. checked into the hotel and my dad asked if i'd make it simple and go grab us a couple of sandwiches since an early morning was on the horizon. so i searched for the nearest Subway. next thing i knew, i was in an area of the city that didn't exactly scream safety. if i had been a smart man -- but i'm not because i'm from the south -- i would've tried the Subway search thingy again. but i was exhausted and not in the mood. plus as a general rule i don't scare easily. so in i went, and behind the counter were 3 black employees. thought absolutely nothing of it. had no reason to. i'm not one to stereotype peeps and i've never possessed a racist bone in my body. but when 4 bangers entered the store behind me, that all changed. and when they started talking to the 3 guys working there and began discussing thug-life activities with me sandwiched in between, it significantly changed. at that point i told myself it was inevitable that i was going to walk out of there with at least one of four things: a bullet lodged in my head, and/or a knife attached to my rib cage, and/or pants without a wallet in it, or two sandwiches. i marked out the last possibility in pen.
to their credit, they avoided me like the plague. not a word, which no part of me expected. but believe you me, i was fully prepared to yell at the top of my lungs.

in fairness, Mardi Gras is hella fun. and the Cajun food is splendid. plus LA isn't lame like my state and actually has establishments that will whet your gambling appetite, which is a priority in any degen's life.
You're going to start making me feel guilty for teasing the South now. If it makes you feel better CA is like 4th dumbest and that isn't even accounting for Elon.
My favorite thing about Louisiana... The optionality of red lights. Puts a sinister spin on "Awaken Your Senses in Louisiana!".

Its because of New Orleans and Shreveport isnt great either. Outside of that its very safe other than falling in a swamp and getting eaten by a gator. Its definitely is its own little world. Its not really southern but is in the south
Only if you think guys like Howard are going to get drafted which if they do will be at the end of the draft and meaningless. It does help that its a weak QB class overall but hes not an NFL QB

The guy just won a natty and broke playoff passing records and you're still bashing him. Hilarious.

And hes still not an NFL QB. He doesnt get to have the best team on the field 98% of the time in the NFL. He will be a late round pick at best
Ward, Ewers, Dart, Sanders and maybe Gabriel will go before him. Someone will probably do something stupid with Milroe who will also go before him.
I’m not so sure anyone knows who projects as a solid NFL QB. With how much these teams spend on evaluating, signing, and developing QBs I have to think they’re trying yo get the best minds in the room to make these picks. When I look at the results of 1st round QBs there are 5 total busts for every home run.

Nope.
Close those eyes and pray!
I had to look up crime rates and while doing that discovered that there are 9 states with more cows than people!!!

Ohio State projected to break NFL draft record.
The record for most picks in a single NFL Draft is Georgia with 15 (2022).
Right now, projection for Ohio State is 16 draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
