Oregon Ducks will fall from the sky:
Can a duck be a duck but not exactly quack like duck and not exactly walk like a duck, but turn out to be an actual duck?

Lots of ducks don’t quack. Teals, goldeneyes, buffleheads, canvasbacks, scaup, widgeons and a host of others either chirp, whistle or make other mostly subdued noises.
However….the question specified** “and not exactly walk like a duck”. I have honestly never seen a duck that didn’t walk like one.**
As for the refs in the OSU game, yes that guy getting up personal foul penalty was garbage. For refs that were "letting them play" they certainly were letting OSU "play" a lot more. One of the idiots called the Howard fumble into the endzone a TD initially when he was standing 2 feet away and Howard clearly fumbled on the 2. The refs were eithe rbias and/or incompetent, take your pick. Ultimately Franklin still blew the game but theres no way to pretend the refs werent giving OSU favorable calls
Here's how we project the new AP Top 25 poll to look on Sunday after Week 10.
Oregon (Last week — 1): One of the few certainties when connecting the AP poll projections to the first CFP Rankings of 2024 is that Oregon will be the No. 1 team in the country. The Ducks have the record and look the part, and while beating Michigan at home provided some adversity -- in part from losing star wide receiver Tez Johnson to an injury and also for a strong second half performance from Michigan's defense -- Oregon answered the call with a statement win.
Ohio State (4): While the loss to Oregon will ultimately keep most voters from moving the Buckeyes to No. 1, Ohio State is continuing to build** a convincing case as the best team in the country.** Ohio State overcame multiple miscues in a hostile environment yet delivered enough winning plays in the second half to down Penn State for the eighth consecutive season.
Georgia (2): Just 50 voting points separated Georgia from Penn State in last week's balloting, and our projection is that the support for the Nittany Lions will drift over to Ohio State and the the shaky performance against Florida will lead to a one-spot drop for the Bulldogs

The polls already out. GA didnt drop.
Tuesday is the poll that matters anyways. Thats the first playoff poll that will give us an indication of what this committee values. Will they just go buy record, or will they value strength of schedule over teams that have no tough wins. Theyll try and set some teams up like over ranking a G5 team since theyll be in the playoffs and probably try and help the ACC and Big 12 get more than 1 potential team into the playoffs, but we will learn a lot seeing their first one
Vanderbilt and Missouri should not be ranked. Missouri is not a good team, they got hammered by Alabama and Texas A@M. Vanderbilt lost to Georgia State. The voters placing Vanderbilt back in the top 25 after struggling against a bad Auburn team, just to give the SEC teams a quality win, really shows the SEC bias. What a joke!

They dropped 3 spots after a close loss. Sounds about right. I think Texas is too high.

Miami is to high with their defense. ND is to high too, but Im really waiting for the first playoff rankings before having a strong opinion on it. The top 4 will sort itself out with conference champions. Boise is certainly not the 12th best team in the country either but I get it they want to try and place a G5 team there for when they get a playoff spot
I think Boise State is a dangerous team. They have a win over a top 20 team and a good loss...a 3 point loss at Oregon.
ND has a bad loss, but has some good wins.
Anyone else notice Alabama jumped 3 spots on a bye week?

If I’ve learned anything this year about college football from these forums it’s that whoever has the most 3,4,and 5 star recruits should win. That’s all that matters when ranking teams and upsets. So no. They cannot compete with Auburn. According to this logic provided by experts Auburn will score 4x as many points.
.
You talking about Vandy?
Auburn had 7 points.......7.

Score 17-7 Vandy X 4 means Auburn needed 68......
Perhaps you missed the absurd conversation here previously that led me to make that facetious statement. I was simply teasing our resident expert in all.
I was just thinking how many times Vandy has been ranked in my lifetime…
Maybe this will be the season they finish ranked in the top 25 with a Bowl win. The only thing that would top that would be Indiana facing Oregon… both teams unbeaten… for the Big Ten championship. Johnny Pont and Ted Kluszewski would have been thrilled to see it… Kluszewski was on the 1945 Indiana team that won the Big Title.

Theyre going to get in trouble. Theyre under investigation. The videos are bad
that's an understatement. the white cop in the still shot was throwing punches; the black cop was doing his best Mike Tyson impersonation on an older gentleman

Wasnt even the only one of the game. According to other fans it was starting over stupid crap too like the cops didnt think the fans were in the right seat and started tazing people if they didnt leave.
If thats true why on earth are cops checking peoples seat tickets and should be a fineable offense
Saw the videos, those cops will be jammed up I'm sure.
Throwing a punch to defend yourself is one thing but to continue to throw punches like they did is a no go
the black cop completely lost his mind
i saw a different video of him launching haymakers at another fan
If this whole thing was over fans in seats they didn't have tickets for then unarmed stadium security should have handled it from the get go, too much bad stuff can go wrong with 2 cops fighting with fans over tickets, like losing his gun ect..
Have 5 stadium security guys rip him out of his seat and bring him to the cops, then escort him out.
Worst part is they very likely did have tickets for those seats and according to some fans threatened to taze the wife when she was trying to show them the tickets.
Whjat makes even less sense is that game was played in the Jags stadium at a neutral site. Those guys have almost certainly worked NFL games before and I dont really recall hearing about incidents like this during those games, yet FL and GA play and we have multiple in the same game
Through the years there have been incidents of LE,politicians, caught and before charges are leveled, in some of those instances, the accused are allowed to retire in an exchange to beat the rap. Thereby, becoming someone else's problem. Will be interesting to see the results of the above example.

LE are famous for retiring before the investigation is underway but it catches up to them, check out and Google the Massachusetts State Police OT scandal, it was a horrific display of unethical and criminal behavior, the guys who retire either have already enough service time for their pensions or make a deal to "Resign" to avoid getting fired and having a black mark on them.
Not to make this into a LEO thread but the Sheriff shut down the investigation and said they did nothing wrong. Id bet they wont work games again and probably get sued but he seems to have no interest in looking into any further.
Playoff committee rankings are about to come out and will be interesting to see how they set it up
Washington State has no business being ranked
Top 4 order doesnt matter at all but OSU over Georgia thats a B!G bias renaming in this new committee.
PSU is too high, they havent beaten anyone good
ND is way to high
SMU and Miami should both win out, theyve set it up for the ACC to get 2 playoff teams if SMU beats Miami in the ACC championship and will only have 1 team if Miami wins.
Big 12 is set up to only get 1 playoff team
Riley must be feeling the hot seat at Southern Cal with Moss getting benched this week when he hasnt been the issue. Seems to be looking for someone else to put the blame on
It is funny how CoolStanley would rail about SEC polling bias when the top two SEC teams were 1 and 2 even after one of them had a loss to the other, yet sees no issues when the same thing happens with two B10 teams.
After years and years of the SEC having the 2 best teams in the country, the B10 can finally make the same claim (at the moment) and lo and behold...the polls treat the B10 teams the exact same way they treated the SEC teams.
Indiana appears to be the annual over ranked B10 team that didn't have to play any of the top teams in the conference. Will be interesting to see what they do against Michigan and OSU. The Indiana head coach (was previously at JMU) has been the real deal everywhere he has coached, so it is possible they could shock people. I think he will parlay the Indiana position into a head coaching job at a top tier school soon.

Rank these wins 1,2,3...... ....common opponent, NEBRASKA
I still think OSU is the best team up there.
Actually the OSU Defense held Penn State to a couple FGs. The OSU offense held Penn State to only one TD.
