Since Ohio State plays both Indiana and Penn State, you would be incorrect. Wisconsin is really the only team that can keep Ohio State out if they win out. And looking at Wisconsin's remaining games, that is unlikely

Ohio State has Penn State and Indiana left on the schedule. Indiana, Oregon, Penn State, Wisconsin and Illinois are ahead of them.

Oregon already has the tie breaker if they tie. They only play Indiana and Penn State. Even if they win all those games they can be locked out

Theyre all going to lose its just who will lose more. If PSU cant do it this year with a soft schedule is left he should be fired. Indiana might have the softest schedule in the country for a power team with a good coach and can very easily end up 11-1 or 10-2 and in the B!G with Oregon.

If Ohio State beats Indiana and both teams go 11-1, then Ohio State will play Oregon because they will hold the tiebreaker advantage with the Indiana win.

Illinois hjas a soft schedule coming up other than Oregon which would create a bunch of tie breakers, Wisconsin probably loses 2 more games. OSU is in a position though now in the second half of the season where they dont have full control of their own destiny for the B!G championship game when other teams do

If youre going to go at teams in other conferences for that than OSU has to be part of that as well

No need to bash the Buckeyes. No one thinks they’re a top 25 team.

Kyle McCord throwing 3 pick 6s and 4 INTs in the first 29 minutes of the Syracuse Pitt game has to be some sort of record for a power conference QB

Horrible. Hard to believe he had 321 yrds passing. And he was having a fantastic year before last night. Maybe Pittsburgh is for real?

Theyre nothing special but one of the better ACC teams for sure. They have to go to SMU next week and still have Clemson and Louisville left where they probably lose at least two games. The UVA and BC games should be wins though which would put them at a 9 or 10 win season

Its not out of the question that the SMU or Pitt winner ends up in the ACC title game against Clemson if Miami slips up which theyve been trying really hard to do the last month

Not getting political here at all - I’d have the same concerns if this was Harris…

Just read that a private citizen invited Donald Trump to his private box for the Penn St - Ohio St game Nov 2. Noon kickoff. I can’t even imagine how much hassle and how long it’s going to take to get 108,000 people into the stadium. That’s gonna put a huge damper on pre-game tailgating, assuming people are going to need to line up very early to deal with the enhanced security.

He was at GA-Ala but that was a night game, so lots more time to tailgate, line up, etc. Sounds like a nightmare morning to me for anyone having to commute in and park, and wouldn’t be surprised if people decide to stay home rather than deal with the extra hassle. Big game though (if we both win this weekend)… tough decision.

It's not the first time a big name person gets into games like this

Taylor Swift who is just as well known as Trump goes to Chiefs games on the regular and I haven't read anything that suggests it's any type of big deal getting her in and out

I'm thinking it won't impact pre game at all

You may be right, but Secret Service is a completely different animal than Swift has. She probably just arranges to go to the players entrance and gets whisked in that way without much of a thought to the other 60K fans. But it’s different with presidential candidates, scanning the crowd for weapons and threats, etc. Secret Service is already working with State College and campus police so it seems like it’s a bigger deal than a pop star attending the game.

    Hope I’m wrong, though.

Yea theyll be some snipers on the roof, the response teams, probably metal detectors if they didnt already have them and an increased police presence but it probably wont impact much if anything for tailgating. Maybe a little less space or showing a ticket to get into the lot type thing. If anything it could help tailgating since the cops will be told to be on the look out for threats and not underage drinkers or drunks lol. The noon kickoff is likely the bigger issue. The college kids still show up but some of the older fans may not want to be there at 6 am to get their smokers set up

Its pretty easy to get in an out of the suites with minimal contact from the people with normal tickets. The biggest impact will be on the service staff. Those suites usually have full bars and catering. Im not sure how theyll handle the food whether it be the Secret Service watching the kitchen or going all out bringing their own food and chefs. Itll definitely be an interesting day for sure for the behind the scenes people that work those suites

A few of us were at the UGA/Bama natty with the T security in ATL. They had metal detectors fail at a couple of the gates. It took us almost 3 hours, in the rain, to get screened/in with the extra patdowns from SS/FBI/GBI once we decided to go in after tailgating. Horr-i-ble experience.

I do that with shows and movies. I cant do it for sports though. I always end up seeing a score somewhere or getting curious and looking. Once I see the score its much less enjoyable for me to go back and watch it. Ive got a set up with a couple TVs but seems like the games keep going to commercials at the same time this year

Congrats to Colorado that the Big 12 is worse than anyone thought they would be. Colorado is better but the rest of the league got worse more than they got better. Theres no way around the fact that the only 2 decent teams Colorado has played this year (K Satte and Nebraska) they lost to. Neither of those teams are impressive either. Cincys record looks okay and theyre slightly below average but they lose to good teams every time as well and thats Colorados best win by far

Regardless of the quality of their wins it’s going to help with recruiting and improve their program.

  • Basebal21Basebal21 Posts: 3,635 ✭✭✭✭✭

Only if you believe Deion really intends to stick around long term. Hes done little to no HS recruiting in his 2 years there and mostly just used the portal to set up Sheduer as best he could. They were 95th in recruiting last year putting them behind teams like App State and Troy. They were only that high because of a OL and WR.

Plus he might just flat out get fired in a year or two. They dont have a replacement for Sheduer who he and Hunter have been the difference makers. The boosters already started holding back money earlier in the year when he admitted he doesnt go to recruits they need to come to him and thats just not how it works

Whatever he wants. Hes got more than enough money and even now as a coach flies around to conferences for paid speaking experiences on private planes.

I honestly think his main interest is his kids which is understandable but not good for the program long term. He got his daughter on the basketball team which she never would have made other wise, Sheduer and Deion Jr (his eldest that does his social media) have their bad music songs played in the locker room and the weight room. He really hasnt been recruiting in a way that suggests he wants to be there long term and some of the top notch players they had that transferred out have talked about how the program is focused around his sons success

Surprised how far LSU fell for a loss at A&M at night in a game that was competitive until the end. They didnt even change places with A&M and are now behind Boise which is a joke.

They’re gonna keep the decision under wraps and make OSU game plan for both guys - 2 VERY different style QBs, so it’s definitely to PSU’s benefit to keep OSU wondering.

I’ll be rooting hard for my guys, but I’m scarred after years and years of OSU beatdowns. Unfortunately, I see this year being more of the same and I don’t think it’ll be particularly close - thinking something like 33-13 OSU.
