Nice looking coins/medals.....Not interested, but nice to see some art incorporated. Cheers, RickO

British coin ok IMO, but as usual I don't care that much for the US version. Could be wrong, but I doubt the Mayflower was welcomed in the manner portrayed... oh look.... we have company! Get the fire going and let's cook up some food! Yes daughter/son... maybe there are some children you can play with!

Perhaps it is just me... I now seem to see too much PC in nearly everything put out by the US Mint. But... if it's what people want... then ok with me. Am I interested in purchasing? Don't know at this point.

    The price point is ludicrous.

I like the Brit coin, not too excited by the US medal.

The medal is also available singly as a lower-mintage reverse proof.

Edit: it seems the silver reverse proof has a higher mintage than the proof in the set.

west coaster's always lose sleep over these new releases. it's worth it if there's a decent profit in flipping or something needed to fill a series in a collection. I'm more into the flipping side of things on these. limited editions could be good.

I hadn't even noticed this. The mint is really playing with times now. Different days, different hours....what's next? Totally random releasing???

    In and out...pretty much.
    2 Orders
    1 - Got Silver set USM088744XX
    2 - Single US RP Gold USM088811XX

6737 orders between the Silver and Gold. My 3:41 AM alarm paid off this time

Tried the British site for their different singles, not a set .... slow and odd. Gave up after 3 minutes. Sigh.

At least the US site was almost back to normal. From the posts either folks are skittish or interest is low for this Mayflower offering.

I'm a little surprised that the silver didn't sell out before the gold. Must be people buy them all or none. LOL

Just bought the silver set and reverse proof. My Royal Mint Mayflower set arrived yesterday, Their single Mayflower coin appears bi-metalic and better than the US Mint product. They'll all be sent for grading soon. Nice coins

Maybe there will be a registry two coin set like the US and Canada set in 2019.

You would think they'd do the same. It's not like the UK is Togo or Nevis or some tiny state. If so, the UK coins could be real winners, far scarcer than the Canada sets in 2019.

From this other thread about these Mayflowers. Some members are not buying because of the recent burns by the Mint. I understand and don't blame them a bit.

    Grrrrrr ... can't post a link.

They would if it were an ASE.

The problem with all commems and medals is that there are very few people trying to collect the full set. So it is easy to skip a particular issue because it doesn't fill a hole in their collection.

My decision was made by the earlier sale time. I don't get out of bed early for stuff like this. :p

I might yet own one some day from the secondary market if the price drops enough.

I suspect quite a few did. A carryover from the excitement of the V75 issues. We will see if there are multiple returns to the mint. (who knows... may just take awhile to catch on).

    I followed your lead @ECHOES.

Amazed it's still available. More than 2.5 hours since the opening bell.
    All the others Not Available

Just ordered the Ag RP single. USM089109XX

  • tincuptincup Posts: 5,295 ✭✭✭✭✭

One thing I noticed that confused me about the mintages... on the Mint page for the Reverse Proof gold, the small table to the right listed mintage as 5,000 with no product limit. However, when you read the description below, it says the mintage is limited to 10,000. So which is it?

got both US Mint golds and both silvers within first ten minutes. Separate purchases for the four items. Smooth mint web traffic.

RP silver medal still available at 11 AM Central time, and with a 20,000 mintage no less. That certainly speaks to the desirability (or lack thereof). Thought about buying one but the Mint pulls enough money away from my business as it is; I'm not going to help bail them out of this latest junk offering.
