I started a separate thread but that is falling quickly so thought to post it here where it belongs.....
I picked up a1982 and 1988 ANA Medal sets. I've only seen them available in the plastic holders and always wondered if the plastic was original or not. I even asked several times but never received an answer. Well today both of these arrived and found out the the original ANA medals indeed come in nice presentation boxes and you were able to order back then the plastic holders for them.
I'm posting this for people like me that always wondered if they came in the plastic holders or not. Some are white, some are blue.
Haven't figured out what the color difference in the plastic matters but below are the original cases and one has the original paper that you can order the plastic holder extra if you like.

A rather interesting set of Heartland Coin Club silver medals From El CaJon
The majority of the changing year themes are very well done. The last one posted which is the most current has
an entirely different look to it almost an uncirculated version but shows many lines in it. I think they were going for an antique version.

I never spent that much on a half ounce of silver
But, I was happy I did. I did place bids but I guess they were to low. I wasn’t sure
on the others as to how high to bid. This one fits in with the coin club collection and the
beaver design.

SORRY FOR RE-ASKING THE QUESTION. I am hoping someone will see this entry and have more information...

My favorite of the ANA Convention medals is the Aug. 1977 Atlanta, GA due to the Dahlonega Mint building on the reverse. Mine is #158. Does anyone know the maximum number issued? Does anyone have this type of set for this or other years? Thanks in advance for the help.

I too like this set very much along with a few other years I would love to obtain.
I wish I could help with the mintage but......I would like to find out as well. Maybe someone can answer this question and a few other questions I have such as........white is there different color holders for the same year and medals?
Ive seen black and white holders.....whats the difference. I've also seen blue?
As stated, mine is #158. I obtained it from Robert P. Whitmore of the Peoria District Coin Club and CSNS... both Illinois.

This is an interesting CSNA medal. It was to Harold Don Allen. I speak to Micheal Wehner often via messenger. Hehas been one of the longest standing presidents. He said…….He was a speaker at the second CSNA educational symposium in the North. PCNS was the host and I was prez.
He also said he might even have a photo of it and he’s looking for it. If he finds it I’ll post it here.

Sarah Nordin PCNS VP, Charles Fracchia, Don Allen, Joe Lang, Hal Dunn, Lee Kuntz CSNA president NOTE Charles, Don, Hal and Lee are all gone now.
Turns out this was the fifth and final CSNA symposium hosted by PCNS. It was then taken over by the Vallejo Numismatic Society. And now is joint with the NCNA. Northern California Numismatic Association.
Hey. I’m looking at one of these and wondered about a fair price and I would assume very cool but would love to hear from those folks who have them in hand. Thanks 🤔

Picked up my second silver ANA Struck on the Steam Press Medal

This is an interesting CSNA medal. It was to Harold Don Allen. I speak to Micheal Wehner often via messenger. Hehas been one of the longest standing presidents. He said…….He was a speaker at the second CSNA educational symposium in the North. PCNS was the host and I was prez.
He also said he might even have a photo of it and he’s looking for it. If he finds it I’ll post it here.

Thanks 🤔
