I'd like to see a lot more of Brady under center or atleast no open backfields in shotgun. Even in hurry up. Also more two back sets.

Edit to add. @perkdog I know what I said about practice sounds counterintuitive. I guess I'm suggesting that they haven't been developing confidence and also haven't been developing a connection with Tom if there are minimal completions happening in practice.

The Patriots play like the NBA regular season. Long season, know we’re gonna make the playoffs, don’t show anyone anything new. Get pumped up for the playoffs when it really matters and make a run. How many years have we heard the Patriots are finished? They’ve lost 2 games. 28 other teams would be celebrating in the streets for a year like this. This is just ho hum for Brady. Eventually it will come to an end but....
When is the question. 2 losses is no where near the end.

no the sky is LITERALLY falling here in New England. Talk radio is dissecting every face Brady makes on the sideline , breaking down the press conferences word by word , hiring lip readers to peer in his kitchen window and get the scoop on whether he is suicidal or not

This is just another thing that many out there and even some Patriots fans don't comprehend about the genius of Bill Belichick. "Rating" a team throughout the season in any sport is vitally important. Most coaches probably understand the need for that, they just don't know how to properly do it, or forget how to do it in the heat of battle during a game.

So i completely agree with your premise, although i do think that Brady is deteriorating somewhat due to age. Of course even Mantle and Mays could still hit some home runs when they were washed up. And of course i'm not saying that Brady is washed up. Even a "deteriorated" Brady can still be dangerous.

How much gas in the tank Brady will have during the playoffs? Brady does not even know that for sure. However one thing is for sure, Belichick will get the last drop of energy out of his players in the playoffs, even if it's a losing effort.

I have little hope for the Pats in this week’s game with KC in KC. The season will hinge on the last three games, especially Buffalo at Gillette Stadium. The game didn’t seem that important a couple of weeks ago, but now it does.

Today's game is a big test for the Patriots. It almost feels to me like they don't have to win as much as just look formidable.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,661 ✭✭✭✭✭

It’s not a must win, but every game is important. I just hope they can score some points, I’m getting tired of all the media nonsense surrounding it. Either way GO PATS!!!

Perk. The 20 year strangle hold on the East must come to an end. Excluding a tiny part of the Northeast America stands up and says “Enough is Enough!” This wasn’t supposed to be the year but sadly for Pats fans today is the beginning of the end. After Buffalo beats Baltimore at 1 all eyes will be upon the Chiefs getting off the snide at Foxboro. It was a great run but all terrible things must come to an end. Long live the King! Welcome the new dynasty, the Red, White and Blue of America’s team the Buffalo Bills!
    😉

Hey if the Bills are the next Dynasty then good for you guys. You guys have suffered for long enough, if the Pats don’t make it I’d sincerely be ok and happy for Bills fans if they won it.

If the Patriots can pull the upset today, it will probably prevent them from having to play a game in KC during the playoffs. That would be huge, and it should give the Pats a major incentive.

As for Buffalo beating Baltimore, don’t hold you breath. Right now Baltimore looks like the team to beat in the AFC. The game is close now, but Baltimore is still formidable.

I wish the Bills/Ravens game was on TV instead of the ones that are. Who cares about the Packers/Redskins!

I had the same problem last week. This week I am in Orlando and I am not stuck with the obligatory Tampa Bucks game. B) Instead I have the Buffalo-Baltimore and New Orleans-San Francisco games followed by New England-Kansas City.

    Football heaven!!! o:)

Patriots are favored by 3, but after last weeks performance, people would think winning would be an upset.

I agree. Something good could happen this season, but the future looks less certain than it has in the past.

In the old days, we would have been rooting for a Buffalo win over Baltimore. That may have been our last chance to get the #1 seed. Baltimore has the tie breaker in-hand.

O Line is horrible, no push in the run game at all. When you intercept Mahomes and need 10 yards to get a field goal opportunity and can’t, spells trouble.

Blocked field goal attempt ... quick interception after a KC score ... holding call ... it might a long evening.

The fat lady is already warbling, and it’s only the second quarter.

I figured this game was a long-shot. Let’s hope there is enough left to beat Buffalo at Gillette Stadium.

It would nice to see one Patriots game in January.

Brady should have hit Eldleman on that 4th down pass. Even if he had been tackled short of the sticks, Brady should have completed it. He’s lost a step.

What is going on with Brady! I just saw him throw a screen pass who was literally surrounded and went no where. Lucky it wasn't a INT. Then the very next play he throws a pass at the receivers feet for no catch. And the Pat's defense looks like it is being called by Rob Merranilly…...the JERK from Dallas. He can't even spell defense much less coach it.

Brady again struggling out there. After a pretty good start this season, he is turning into a tired old champion race horse who just can't run fast for extended distances any longer.

Of course no shame in that, it happens to and will happen to every great athlete.

Hey but who knows, maybe he'll rally and win this game and another Super Bowl. But in any event it would be foolish in my opinion for him to play next season. But i thought that after last season so who the yell knows when it comes to Tom Brady? Might have to carry him off the field before he retires.

He’s forcing plays to try to make things happen, and he’s lost a step. The Patriots’ offensive Is dead. The offensive line is second rate, and the offense has few weapons.

Well. if anyone can make halftime adjustments it's Bill B. This is when Garrett takes a nap from the strenuous bad coaching he just had to endure. :D

If he had more talent around him, it would look better, but his days of carrying the team are over. If this continues, he would do well to retire.

And BTW, last week’s Patriot beaters, Houston, last badly to Denver, a so-so team.

It's pretty obvious that Tom has lost a step or two. Poorly thrown passes, the inability to scramble like Mahomes does. I think we are, and have been witnessing the inevitable decline of Brady. Again, I think the loss of Gronk really impacted the overall team performance. Couple this with the unthinkable Houston loss, and the hand-writing is on the wall.

If I had what Brady has outside of football, I would have been gone some time ago. Gronk may appear kinda goofy, but he's dumb like a fox and has an impressive bank roll to live a very, very nice life.

Remember that Bill Belichick may be past his prime as well.

Belichick is now 67 years old. Not old by normal life standards. However by NFL head coaching standards, 67 years old certainly isn't often considered to be prime.
