Looks like you’re starting to make a name for yourself as someone who knows the score!May 16, 2019 10:35PM
Hi Bill Jones,
I was reading your contributing comments regarding hard time tokens, and I was quite taken by your one that shows the ship of state under two different monetary systems.
A very good photo, I can make out 'Constitution' emblazoned on the healthy ship, and 'Experiment' on the storm tossed ship.
It is so similar to another token shown earlier in the thread. The other shows the imperiled ships masts coming apart and being struck by lightning.
What can you tell me about the different tokens, how did one come to have lightning at the expense of the other?
I expect that they were both 'minted' by the same person(s), was there a significant time difference in the dating of production.
I've got an "Illustrious Predecessor" (for a nifty price, months ago) and have just found out what the turtle and 'Sub Treasury' text was all about. (In this thread.)
If I can collect more different tokens, what are ones that are 'must haves', not Civil War (too pricey.)

[ Thanks to the Congress and political nonsense, the Mint now uses "Hot Air" presses -- much more pressure that steam. ]
