James, great cards! I don’t remember you picking up any football or any sport than Baseball in the past....

Thanks Dan. It has been a long time since I bought any football cards. It was an impulse buy from the same person that I bought the two 1967 cards from.

I've been slacking hard and missing out on some Roy's I wanted, but the Roy market on eBay has been thin lately to begin with. A couple low dollar cards, hoping to add some nicer cards to the collection shortly:

Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com

I love the variety of this thread! Some really nice stuff being picked up by forum members this month. I've been sitting still a bit because there is supposed to be a brand new lacrosse set dropping at the end of the month and I want to grab some boxes or maybe a case. We shall see...

Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.

More like returns than pickups. Love the fresh holders....

It seems almost sacrilegious to call Brown "Jimmy", kind of like "Bob" Clemente.

    Thanks guys
Was getting a little worried when the 5 month wait past, but it’s all good to get them back. I have another grading sub return so will get those up when I get a chance. Finally figured out my scanner haha. Thanks @NGS428 !

That 68' 3D Clemente. That's a dream card for me and on the bucket list. I remember the Clemente 3D being showcased as an elite card when I was around 12 or so in the early 80's. To me it's a card of ages, a card that is legendary in collecting!!

    >

I agree. Seems this Clemente is iconic for the seasoned card collectors going back many years. I was surprised by the reaction on Instagram of guys who never knew about the card. It is my personal white whale and favorite to the collection.

Bragging Time - got these back today from PSA, via the quarterly jumbo holder special. The details behind the Swann are written up in another thread here (maybe something about “favorite non-card item”?). The Paterno auto is on the official alumni football newsletter for their first National championship. The jumbo holders are very nice and very reflective :)

Wow, more amazing stuff! The Bowman Brady RC (and gold and chrome) is my favorite of his RCs. I recently sold a lot of over 700 Brady cards, but I held onto my raw copy of that card. Fantastic! You obviously have a great eye for raw cards as well.

I think in the future you will really appreciate pulling that McDavid yourself. I pulled 2 and regret selling them. It was just a good deal at the right time. But that and selling a few of his FWA early are my two biggest modern regrets. Wish I would have kept 1 & 1 just for being able to say I pulled it. But hopefully they dip in the future, I’ll buy back in, and will feel better.

I had to look up the Brady Gold to see if I had overlooked something at first, no chance haha. Would love to have one and I really like the Chrome too.
I was chasing Young Guns to get signed back then and when I pulled this McDavid, I knew that I had to keep and grade it. Glad that I did. I eventually bought one raw from the LCS and sent it out for consignment. Didn’t get signed and came back dinged 😡

    is that a diner placemat??

I love when I find something vintage that I've never seen before of my favorite player. Scoop time! Sure, it is all beat up but its a premium believed to be from the Stadium in 1959 (from original owner) and it's a great shot of Mickey. Maybe I'll find a nicer one one day and/or someone could add more concrete information but I just like the whole look of it.

Basically, yes - it’s a TGIFridays placemat! Met him randomly at the restaurant, he talked with us throughout dinner, and signed a placemat for me. For a high school senior in Pittsburgh whose favorite player was (and still is) Lynn Swann, it was a hell of an experience.

    (scratch in plastic wrapper only)

10 bucks for a 1961 Jay Publishing LA Dodgers 12 card set.

Price is right - wouldn't pay more - or want it since it's missing Snider.

Had a PSA Mail day today. This was from a January bulk sub. The Dahlin Young Guns Exclusive is a POP 1 for now but I'm sure it wont stay that way. Subbed a total of 6 base YGs and only the one got a 10 that was a pretty poor showing on my part. Such is the game,

Love these!!! I just picked up a Dahlin in a 10 and am sending off 2 to PSA this week. Fingers crossed. Love the clear cut Jack as well, may be my favorite parallel they do.
