Collecting as a kid...I always thought this was a beautiful card of Bob Gibson. I finally pulled the trigger today taking advantage of the 15% off from 4 Sharp Corners.
Been busy this month and just catching up on this thread. Too much good stuff to comment on everything, but man Bill those signed HOF RC's of all sports is insane. Great stuff there!!!
Speaking of great. In honor of his 33 point second half to close out the Rockets I have these latest pickups for my Steph Curry collection.
First up, another jersey numbered card for that niche part of my collection. The card doesn't have my favorite design, but when trying to pick up jersey numbered cards I won't pass on a card if it is a good deal. I was able to snag this for about $12 on COMC. I don't think the seller realized it was a jersey numbered card or else I would have expected the price to have been a bit higher.
This is a relatively short printed insert. I really liked the creativity of the design.
This is a case hit insert and the Downtown/From Downtown insert set is probably my favorite insert Panini does in basketball. Just a very cool design in my opinion.
Working on my first bulk sub; here’s what I’m most excited to submit! In addition to these I have some great 75’s and 76’s to go with these! I’m kind of collecting all over the place; when these go in I should have 39 ‘71’s graded!
I have enough cards for 4, maybe 5 bulk subs ranging from 1953-1982! Time to start preparing! 😁
@Rofles Some nice 71T there. I see a lot of 7s and 8s in there. Very few truly OC, and above average centering and edges overall. Now I know where all the nice raw 71T went! I'm at 130 graded. I'm at 716 on the raw set I'm putting together. You must have a nice large box of rejects. Good luck with you grades. I hope you get a 'nice' grader.

Man, those corners are making me salivate. Upon first glance, that looks like it belongs in at least a 9 holder. Super sweet card. Just stunning.
Very nice additions everyone! @slum22 do cards with uniform numbers command a big premium for Basketball? I know in hockey it has a pretty limited increase. It’s always interesting to see how different sports cards are valued.
This arrived today as a replacement for one that I cracked to get signed. Tickets was a great player and is a good guy as well.
Here’s a photo. Sorry I usually scan but there’s playoff hockey on right now so a photo will have to do.
This is one of those items that Is totally in my wheelhouse. It’s already kind of rare since it’s from 1940 and then you factor in that some have been cut down to produce singles. Then on top of that, figure most kids cut across the dotted line and therefore ones that are this ‘complete’ even enter another stratosphere of rare and I just felt like I should purchase and preserve this one. It’s definitely NOT perfect and it definitely could be improved (in grade, significantly) by trimming it.
And that’s not going to happen while I am the owner.

I'm a lifelong fan of Providence College basketball, like at least one other CU member. In March sometime, I went to a card show to meet former PC great, NBA champ (Sonics) and longtime PC Friars radio commentator, Joe Hassett. Here is the card he signed that day:
At the same show, I connected with another Friars collector/dealer. A couple of weeks later, via text message, I was able to purchase these 2 as well"
Marvin "Bad News" Barnes (RIP) was an All American and an ABA star. Coach Rick Barnes, when he started at PC, was the youngest coach in the Big East and started his tenure 13-0. After his days with the Friars, he left for Clemson, bounced from there to Texas (where he recruited Kevin Durant), and is now the head coach at Tennessee.

I met Rick Barnes about 3 years ago. A nice guy and a really good coach.
I think I’ve met that Providence dealer at the Shriners show years back. I picked up a signed ‘48 Bowman Ernie Calverley from him that he got IP. Nice guy and had neat stuff

Yeah, he’s a nice guy. His initial asking prices were a little high but we were able to work it out. I passed on a Ray Flynn. Flynn autos hurt the wallet of any PC autograph collector, because after his basketball days he went on to be mayor of Boston and then US Ambassador to the Holy See (the Vatican)!
I was a huge and I mean HUGE Avs fan for their first 10 years or so in Colorado. Yet I never liked Roy. Not quite sure what my problem was/is. I think part of it is that he made me nervous leaving the goal to play the puck. But yeah, never liked the guy and I can’t fully explain why.
One more for the splendor collection. Possibly my favorite goalie ever.
These are the type of post-career Roy cards I would love to add to my Roy collection. Beautiful pick up.
Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
I saw this available and couldn't pass it up. My first jumbo item and also a low pop item for the Mattingly master set. This is one of 3 with none higher.

I love hand cut with excess, looks like that one could be cleaned up to a higher grade as long as the surface is worthy. Nice pickup!

I know you said “jumbo”, but is that a jumbo holder (only available fairly recently) or a supersize holder (available for years)? I ask because you said this is pop 3 and the jumbo holders are new enough that there aren’t many (any?) pop 3 items.
Another Uecker rookie for my hoard. Pick one up whenever I find a deal. Think that gives me 15-20 in various grades. The E-X2000's were from my most recent sub. Listed on Ebay for sale as they don't really fit in my collection but super tough in high grade and cool looking cards. Mason is a pop 1. They might stay with me a while!

I was wondering the same thing actually. It didn't look as large as the new jumbo holder. I think it is some other size a little smaller than the true jumbo. The PSA page only lists these sizes.
A slightly tougher early Arenado SP to add to the stash. His Topps base RC has been on a nice little uptick lately. I continue to think that this guy is going to retire as the undisputed best 3B ever.
Always looking for tougher PSA 10's of Nolan Arenado, Alex Bregman, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and Mike Trout.

I’m a Red Sox fan, so I’ve never had a chance to see him play, but i’ll Be freezing my ass off at Fenway tonight for Sox-Rox, seeing 2 of the top 5 players in baseball!
Pretty pumped to add this total stud to the growing stable of my Propagandas Montiel cards. As someone who always cares more for eye appeal than grade (and in this set eye appeal is everything), I felt the price and the look combined to make this a smart add. And again, just another one of the All Time Great Baseball players in the set; this one doing damage for the Giants and still active at the time of the sets release...
