My first purchase in awhile is one that I've been chasing for years. I'd be ashamed to admit how many ungraded copies I've bought of this card over the years hoping to hit the condition trifecta and this PSA 8 hit all three. No visible creasing which usually plague the SI for Kids cards. Great centering and lastly no mangled bottom right corner due to the card having been placed in that position on the 9 card sheet. It's no surprise there aren't any 10's and with just five 9's & seven 8's,finding one of those two has been a long process until this past weekend. Mission accomplished
Sweet...my father lives in Hurricane, so I go out that way often...I’ve still yet to stop by the card shop @ Liberty Square, though I pass by often...nice to see a fellow WV collector on the boards! Btw my name is Phillip.
It's been a great month! The Mario that started the thread is just beautiful, and a 1968 3D Clemente? Come on!
I've done far more selling than buying lately, but don't ever miss adding Topps Vault items to my Staubach collection if I can help it. Just got this lot in today

Just got this MJ oddball piece in the mail today. This was a 3x5 t-shirt offer order form that was included inside the 1989 Come Fly With Me VHS video case and Its actually made out of cloth. The seller admitted he went the cheaper quicker route grading as Authentic and after comparing to about 30 different copies of this card I think it has a legit shot at an 8 with a regrade. Most had scuff marks on the top & bottom edges where this one was just the bottom.
The obsession continues. There were about 40 up for auction tonight and I think I came away with over 20 of them. Not every name in the set is a household name so I’ll stick to names you’ll (hopefully) know...
1946 Propagandas Montiel Spud Chandler
1946 Propagandas Montiel Paul Derringer
1946 Propagandas Montiel Joe Cronin
1946 Propagandas Montiel Ducky Joe Medwick
1946 Propagandas Montiel Rip Sewell
1946 Propagandas Montiel Andy Pafko
The Pafko is, like Stan Musial, his first issued card and often carries the ‘true rookie’ designation

Great pickup! This is a favorite of mine, it's on my wantlist, just haven't broken down and gotten one yet. Good luck on the grade, I agree that it has a shot at an 8.

This was a stadium giveaway this past Saturday vs the Phillies. Being that it was an Interleague matchup, on a Saturday, with a cool giveaway, I was able to sell my season tickets for some nice coin, so did not get one at that time. However, the Royals include 4 vouchers in the season ticket package to be used towards any leftover giveaways. I went to the game today, so was able to redeem one voucher for the bobblehead of this superstar in the making.
it's been quiet for me for a while on the Dallas Cowboys front, but I've been fortunate to pick up a number of upgrades to my 1972 Sunoco Stamps Dallas Cowboys team set.
I'm really excited about the Cliff Harris pre-rookie. It's a pop 2 item. His rookie was in the 1975 Topps set. The other PSA 10 items are all pop 2 as well.
Only 12 PSA 10s, so I settled for a 9 of my favorite football player. Ever so slightly off center left to right, so no problem saving myself thousands to look at this one. Thanks 10% eBucks!

I picked these up over the last couple weeks. All are upgrades for various sets except the 61 Nu-Card Scoops Kaline. I have been slowly working on the Scoops set in PSA 9 for a while.

James,
Are the Red Hearts all in 9 this point? I’m going to need to see a group shot at some point. What a gorgeous set.

Well, small as compared to buying a 3500 card collection. There are definitely some heavy hitters in this lot; sadly I couldn't afford his entire collection.
How big is your Big Hurt collection? Have you met him before?
I'm somewhere between 6000 and 7000 unique cards, but I haven't had time to keep up with my inventory since returning to school last year. I have a decent game used, document, and general memorabilia collection as well. I've been at events where he was present, but I've never really conversed with him. While I overwhelmingly hear positive experiences about his interactions with other fans, I've never had to urge to speak to him beyond a nod. I've collected him for nearly 30 years and wouldn't want a bad day to tarnish the positive experience I've had doing so.

Great player (and heard similar about the person) to collect.
My buddy - who is younger than me and looks like a mean tough guy but is a total wimp and teddy bear - was in a Chicago bar a few years back and was staring at a guy that he knew he recognized a guy sitting in the back at a booth but couldn’t place it. My buddy said it was starting to get awkward (he could tell he was starting to bother the gentleman) and he had to take a piss so he asked the bartender where the bathroom was and as it had to be, he now had to walk right past the guy so he made a point of keeping eyes straight ahead. He realizes it’s Frank Thomas at the urinal and goes out and say ‘Sir, I’m sorry for staring. When I was a kid, you were my favorite ball player; I don’t watch much baseball anymore but you were awesome and should be a Hall of Famer soon (he wasn’t in yet). I don’t want anything at all other than to to say thanks for a lot of great memories. I’m sorry for interrupting and I’ll leave you alone now.’
Frank Thomas said, ‘I thought you were coming at me! Thanks for being a fan - enjoy the rest of your night.’ My buddy stayed another hour but when he looked up the Big Hurt left without him noticing sometime between when he talked to him and when he decided to leave. When he asked for the check, the bartender said - you guessed it - ‘Mr. Thomas said it’s on Mr. Thomas and paid your bill - with a generous tip. Have a good night.’

What a great page of additions everyone. Very cool story about Thomas @1951WheatiesPremium .
Here are my two latest additions, The Dahlin is a Jumbo Young Guns which because of the way they are packaged almost assures a soft corner or two. The 73 Topps continues my 70s Sabres run.

Love these low pop. '62's .... these brown baggers talk to me..... one nice aspect about '62 is you never see stock photos used from another year on them....it seems like every player is in a new position never seen before on a baseball card....
Now that you mentioned it...I cannot recall a repeat photo among HOFs! BTW...beautiful Kaline!!!
