Re: Morgan Experts: how tough is the 92-CC?
I am glad that I have an excellent dealer that works with me on my Morgans. About a year or so ago, he showed me a raw 92CC, and boy was it nice. He said, "Take it and send it to PCGS, and if it does not come back MS63, bring it back and I will refund your costs including the grading fees". Well, it came back MS63!!! Last… -
Re: Die polish lines on Morgans - Good or Bad?
i guess it depends on the look of the coin and the date and mintmark and grade all are factored in i would need to see the coin in person to know for sure for example i suppose if the coin is a rare date like a 94 s morgan in a 65 holder and the die polish lines are on the reverse and they are much less than normally seen… -
Re: 1952 Mantle PSA 6 v. AROD SGC 100
One thing about these cards is that rarity in any condition is what drives Prewar and will eventually drive the 52 Mick. You can still open packs of 94 SP and pull out an A-Rod (guy who posted that only 7's come out of packs, where did the SGC 100 come out of?). Just finding a 52 Mantle due to it's popularity is getting… -
Re: does anyone besides me collect cards from sports they do not like?
My interest level in the big 4 sports is about 40% of what it was. I haven't seen a hockey game in years...since Gretzky retired, lol. But I still like 80's hockey cards, out of nostalgia. The NBA....except for the lakers/celtics, and maybe a few other teams...very little interest or desire to watch it. Modern baseball… -
Re: Remember the "questionable authenticity" grade I got in my recent sub?
You should stop leaving your cards out in the sun. It must be the color that is the only reason I can see. I would try resubing it again. I had a 94 SP Arod get rejected for recoloring 3 times before it was put into a PSA 8 holder on the 4th try. I looked my hardest and could not find where they thought it could have been… -
Re: NRMT-MT Vintage Lots?
Always assume card lots are overgraded, but many times all it takes is that one card. I bought a lot of 23 Michael Jordan cards a couple of years back from a seller who sold mostly PSA cards. I paid about 4.00 for it delivered. I submitted 10 of the cards and ended up with a 92-94 Ultra PSA 10, 90-91 Fleer PSA 10, 2001-02… -
Re: Tornado tears through my community...
<< <i>I saw the devestation on the news. I don't know how one could deal with losing everything. Here in the NorthEast there is no real severe weather, well maybe a severe thunderstorm from time to time in the summer. A few of those were F4's the real nasty twisters. God bless you all. >> OT - Don't be sure of the weather… -
Re: Top Ten Rejected Sports Franchise Names
actually they have 2, it was just before it was the superbowl , back in 47-48 maybe, it was back to back years and was a shutout both years, never to be repeated, would have been 3 but charlie trippi hammered nails in his shoes to get better traction eagles vs browns, there was only 12 teams back then though ,it got so bad… -
Re: Memorable Things Said About Baseball...
At one time all that was true and baseball truly mattered. That's not the case anymore and I doubt baseball will ever be back to where it once was. I am 49 and remember when Opening Day meant something and people actually cared about the All Star game. Those days and at least 2 generations of kids have been passed by. I… -
Re: funny/strange ebay bidders
I have a story. Several years ago, I sold a raw 94 SP Marshall Faulk RC to a guy, maybe $20. I advertised the card as NMMT. He receives the card and sends me an email: "The card is not gem." I write him back and say I know it's not - I didn't advertise it as a gem card. About a week passes, no reply, then one day another…
