That sucks that you didn't check the pack. I would imagine that it would have been worth a good buck with a jordan on the top and bottom. Either way that is pretty sweet to pull two Jordan's.

Didn't hit anything big in the pack. Glen Anderson is 41/75; Stewart 47/57; Gretzky 149/249; Coburn 163/199; Noble Numbers Heatley/Iginla 10/10
Will probably put them up on Ebay and see how they fare.

1986-87 Fleer basketball pack purchased at Chantilly card show for $235. Better centering but cards are not super sharp. May sub the Herb Williams.

Very weird pack. Two of the cards were doubled up (Al Wood and Allen Leavell) and there were only 11 cards and one sticker. The seal and gum dust were fine though so must have been a factory mix up. If I hadn't pulled 2 Jordans from the last 3 packs I purchased from the guy I might have questions. Will probably sub one of the Leavell's.
Next up a box of 2008 Topps Heritage update.

2008 Topps Heritage Update box purchased for $55. Pulled some red ink, though it was someone I have never heard of Hector Lopez. Happy with the box, lots of hits in 2008 Heritage update.

Here's the auction in question- Link

Based on the poor feedback, I doubt the legitimacy of the auction. I can't see anybody sending a $3000 offer to a guy with private fb and a bad percentage. Even if the auction is legit, I think it's a case of the seller reeling in a fish who doesn't know any better. I would doubt there's another person out there willing to pay $3k for this pack.

Realistically, a pack with both Jordan's showing would probably sell in the $1500 neighborhood at auction. 80s packs with stars showing just don't command that much of a premium over the value of the cards themselves anymore.
  • Options
Even at only $1500 for the pack, that is enough to buy 6 more legit packs to bust.

Some grades popped. Unfortunately I think the mangled corner on the Jordan resulted in the 5. Overall not surprised but would have been happier with a 7.

July special popped as well. For $4.50 a card you really can't go wrong. Happy with the Favres, the minis were a mixed bag but I don't really know what I am looking for with those cards. Hopefully will get one more sub together this week to take advantage of the special.

Purchased some items from BBCE for ripping this week. Including a pack of 86 Fleer basketball (they are like crack I'm telling you), a pack of 79 OPC Hockey PSA graded, 5 packs of 77/78 Topps basketball, a pack of 78 OPC hockey and a pack of 72 Topps series 1 football.

Going to open the basketball packs now. Packs were $15 a piece.

First 2 packs of 1977/78 Topps basketball yield one HOF RC. I need a 9 for my collection but the Dantley is probably an 8 though.
Now onto the last 3 packs.

Last 3 packs were also really nice. The Parish RCs look like 8/9 candidates. Very, very happy with this little 5 pack rip. Not often you get 3 HOF RCs in 5 packs.

Now on to the 1986 Fleer basketball pack. I've definitely had the Midas touch with 86 Fleer bskt packs recently.

1986 Fleer basketball pack purchased from BBCE for $325.
Sequence is not looking good for a Jordan. Sequence flipped two cards in. The English and Moncrief look like borderline 9s. I need the Moncrief for my self-subbed PSA 9 set so will be subbing it this month.

Centering for this pack is pretty off so far. The Moore card is impossible in PSA 10 and this pack shows why.

Pack ended up having 13 cards and one sticker but I'm not complaining.
Overall 6 or 7 cards from this pack will be sent to PSA under the August special.

You're amazing, Robb. I can't tell you how many packs I've had that started with the Jordan sequence but flips to some other crap.

You're right about 77-78 Topps wax. I had a great time ripping a wax box a while ago, mainly because I think Parish, Dantley and Dawkins are three of the most underrated players of all time. I also love the neon green backs (assuming you didn't get the scarcer grey backs). Snow is the only thing that sucks about this set.

4 packs of 1975 minis from a box I bought for $1000 from BBCE. Packs 25 - 28. Finally a HOF RC. Thinking of subbing the Carter, Krausse, Moret and maybe the Garrett (T?B centering is pretty poor on that one).

Last 4 packs of 1975 minis from a box I bought for $1000 from BBCE. Packs 33 - 36. This was a fun rip and I will be buying another box or two from BBCE. Not much in the way of HOF RCs with this box but lots of PSA 8/9 commons.

Carew has a minor touch to the bottom right corner which most likely puts it in an 8 holder. I think my success rate of 9s on my last 75 mini sub was right at 1 in 3. I would like to get over 50% by the time I am done subbing a couple boxes worth of 75 mini pulls.
