Think that Charlie will make the line up work out that all 3 could be in the outfield at the same time???

I mentioned this before...especially with pitchers...those involved in the post season especially the World Series, throw more pitches and the injury factor multiplies because they are already tired after a long regular season. Being that the Phillies won the World Series and Hamels pitched his heart out...he has a legitimate excuse for getting off to a slow start this season and getting injured....simply not enough time during the off season for an overextended arm to heal up properly and get back to normal...not always the case but ya can observe this happening often enough.

Yeah it happens all the time.........................(eyeroll)

Steve - I'm not gonna do a dissertation on it...it's fact and frankly it's logical....again, especially for pitchers.

Come on Steve - the healthiest athlete can get injured, who knows, but an athlete, and it's not debatable, is more likely to get injured when he's tired or not in the proper shape...and of course you know this.

Perhaps 5 months isn't enough time for a tired, overextended arm to heal up and it some cases it isn't, and Hamels is an excellent example of that, and there are a number of other examples as well, especially in this day & age when the season is too long, and spring training is way too long.

Ibanez back, Howard possibly getting in a groove...starting pitching decent/solid...relief pitching okay, improving, and looking at signing a closer...and a 4 game lead in the NL East...I'm not saying it's over yet, but the fat lady is clearing her throat.

Everyone knows that Howard's 3 run homer in the bottom of the ninth is simply more
    of his false RBI.

I went to bed thinking, great the Mets win (thanks for the avatar change fitzie) and the Pirates
are beating up on Hamels and the Phillies. It's 7 to 3 for gods sakes.

I awoke to yet another Phillies come from behind win. Thank god it was the Mets turn to win.

Even the Nats win one a week.

Ummm first off he was talking about the home run derby. I recall they use BP pitchers.

Secondly of course you have 4 of the top 10 in homers. Your team plays in a band box

Howard hits one, Ibanez hits two, Moyer throws a one hitter thru seven, relievers allow nothing, and the Phils now up by 5 in the division.

    Life is good.

Any guesses on the over/under for Moyer's win total for this season? For his career?

I'll guess 17 wins for this season.

As for his career, that's tough; but I'll guess he pitches two (2) more seasons after this one and finishes with 285 career wins.

That would be me, and I stand by that comment.

One winning streak does not make a team great.

Even with this latest streak the Sillies are something like 24 and 21 over the last 45 games.

    That spells mediocrity.

I doubt they win 90 games this year. However with this division they need not win 90 to win it.
