OH Man am I PUMPED!! My White Whale of White Whales arrived today! I cant even say that I have been activly searching for this Van Brocklin because I never thought I would find one in PSA 7 that was nicely centered, well after innocently posting in the Vintage Sportscards forum looking for 1952 Bowman Large Football I not only get an email about cards that were available but the unbelievable chance to cherry pick a near complete set of 52 Large Football!!!!!!!!!!! Well I sounded the alarm and put up all my 51 Bowmans on the Bay- tough to let them go but it had to be done!!
These were my selections, I cannot begin to tell you how happy and excited I am! And to the seller, I know you are reading this so again THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You, I am very excited to say the least! These 5 cards will put me at only around 35% but the rest ( Other than the Y.A Tittle ) I am not going to be overly concerned with getting in PSA 7's as long as they are centered well. Unfortunately there is the Lansford and a few other really tough SP's that will command big bucks but I wont mind getting those in "Filler" type grade as they are not very popular players save the Joe Stydahar.
I sold off all of my 51 Bowmans to fund this purchase so the financial hit wasnt bad at all but Ive got a long way to go and plan on pacing myself.
I am glad that your starting the 57 set.....hope to see bunches of scans of 57's...besides I am getting tired of looking at all the 52 Larges that Perk keeps posting

R U kidding me Perk! I love your cards...I am just busting your chops..keep posting them! Besides, I try to stay away from the PSA 7 52 large and only attack SGC's and psa 6 because I know you don't go after those.
Thanks Rex, I have a VERY NICE Raw one and bought this PSA 9 and two more GORGEOUS SGC 88's. The 88's are SHARP but a bit OC. The seller said he wanted to send the 9 in to get regraded, I'm not sure it would be higher than a 9, but who knows.

Well.....I'd like to, but 7-8 is a more realistic goal for me, and that a 3-4 year goal. I don't think I can swing the Starr-Unitas-Hornung in 8, but 7 seems within reach.
Here is my only really cool vintage football card. It does have a little wax stain on the back.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

It was VERY interesting Ryan- I assume thats the same article you sent me awhile ago. One question you brought up which I still cant find an answer for is why some of the pennants have just the players name on it while others have the name AND the Pro team or College team name with it.
