<< <i>Very Nice Joe! Im curious why that card isnt included in his player set? >>
Is it because it was issued after his playing career ended??? >>
I didnt realize it wasnt in his player set (probably because I dont collect it)
NFL stats have Sammy playing from 1937 to 1952, so that supports Big Daddy's theory. I know that no Largent card past his retirement of 89 is allowed in the player set, so i guess there's our answer.
Im slowly, ever so slowly, creeping into the 55 topps AA set...
Just picked this up off ebay for a buck plus shipping...can't beat it. I've read the chapter on Joe Perry and I am almost done with the Hugh McElhenny chapter....What a backfield!!!! 4 HOF'ers
A nice set of 1968 KDKA Steelers cards came in the mail yesterday. I love these cards! It's easy to see why the Steelers stunk back then, though: I didn't recognize half of the names. Andy Russell and Ray Mansfield are the only two players who stuck out.
It was fun researching the coaches, too. Most of them had previously been players. DePasqua went on to coach at Pitt for a few years.
Just started a 57 set myself! Im going to do a centered EXMT-NM Raw set. Will probably end up cracking some cards out of holders at some point. Heres where I stand. Its not much but its a start!
Anybody have any nice centered NMish 57 cards to deal?
I have the following 55 AA for sale or trade. $20 each + shipping
After seeing James post his '48 Leaf Thompsons, I figured I'd share mine. Currently, each is a one of three and there are none graded higher. I still think the Blue Number should be a PSA 6...
thanks for posting all the cool oddball stuff...but I do think it was a kind of rude to post the questions on the cards and not provide us with the answers
Wow, those wheaties comics are really cheesy. I just read the waterfield one, boy is it bad. Did you guys know theres a whole kernel of wheat in every flake? I sure didnt
Great stuff guys, thanks for posting, even you MT..... ^()^

Exactly. The whole "spark" theme was odd too. I guess that was the buzzword of the day. Spark up!
I liked the oddball stuff. The sports banner box and matchbook covers were cool.
Thanks Ryan! I was a little skeptical paying PSA 8 money for the Hirsch because of the centering at first but after looking at the scan some more Im glad I snagged it. Im really excited about the Bednarik, Im not sure it has a chance at a bump or not but Im going to find out!
Other than the Stydahar, this has got to be the toughest 52 Bowman Large HOF RC out there...After a LONG LONG wait, I finally picked one up.
I'm here to question, not to inspire or build up. To live how I want, as I see fit, according to my values and my needs. Nothing holds dominion over me, I stand alone as the ruler of my life.
Why is that not in a nicer holder..... perfectly centered, very nice!! >>
thanks I was pumped...picked it up for under $130 off ebay. I was expecting to pay much more for it. Unfortunately it has a touch of wax stain on back which would probably prevent it from an 8.

I love that card. I wish I had the wallet to do that set. I had a raw Grange, Rockne and Baugh when I was younger, but nothing that clean.
Congrats on the pickup!

<< <i>Why did PSA label the one Thompson card as "Tom"? >>
I was wondering the same thing, its just that Ryan is smarter than me
You certainly know your 48's Scott, from the variations to the ink process. Very cool. Did you learn all that in barber school?
Here is a recent pickup of mine. In honor of Skins fan, Arty, a 67 philly wax pack
