It would be nice if BBCE would ship the 80's direct. I would do a box for sure. I wish he would get a case of 84 Donruss. I think that would go well also.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. I didn't get in on this one but I'd likely be up for some 1980's if it happens.

I would DEFINATELY be in for TWO boxes of 1980 direct shipped from Steve. But I think it is time for the originator to start a thread and keep this one on track? image

    Wow. Great pictures!

    I did some math.

    1978: $.20/pack = $7.20/box = $115.20/case

    2007: $9000/case = $562.50/box = $15.63/pack

    Annual rate of return=16.22%

Year - Case value (16.22% increase)
    1978 - $115.20
    1979 - $133.89
    1980 - $155.60
    1981 - $180.84
    1982 - $210.17
    1983 - $244.26
    1984 - $283.88
    1985 - $329.93
    1986 - $383.44
    1987 - $445.64
    1988 - $517.92
    1989 - $601.92
    1990 - $699.56
    1991 - $813.02
    1992 - $944.90
    1993 - $1,098.16
    1994 - $1,276.28
    1995 - $1,483.29
    1996 - $1,723.88
    1997 - $2,003.50
    1998 - $2,328.47
    1999 - $2,706.14
    2000 - $3,145.08
    2001 - $3,655.21
    2002 - $4,248.09
    2003 - $4,937.13
    2004 - $5,737.93
    2005 - $6,668.62
    2006 - $7,750.27
    2007 - $9,007.36

If we all get 16.22% returns on our investments we'll be buying nothing but PSA 10s and Cristal when we retire!

I'm envious of you guys getting these packs. I must have busted 8 to 12 boxes of these when I was 8 years old and have kept them. They didn't survive in great condition.

Keep me in mind if you want to unload minty looking Twins or Lyman Bostock. Will pay good money.

    Enjoy your collection!

How was the overall centering? I noticed that 78s have what seems like a 50% off-center ratio. We all or most of your cards that well centered as your scans indicate? SWEET BENCH by the way!!

Just louped the Murray... The bottom is very sharp but has extra fuzz along it and it is into the bottom left corner. I dont know what that will do for the grade but the card looks great. The card saver is used and very scratched. The 3 dots in the top right border are on the card.

    What do you think???

The The Brett is Gem but has a roller mark and the Winfield has a slight surface bubble. The cards are razor sharp

    mealeworm,
i'm going 9 on the murray. fuzz on edge is ok, the corner may hurt you.

from what i can tell from the scans you could be looking at 9 minimum on the others...nice job....and then the $5 special on top of this. image
