All the 1978 packs & boxes were being shipped directly by Steve Hart so you don't have to worry there.

I almost am afraid to post any more pictures with the Stop The Vintage Thread-it almost feels like I am rubbing it in. I have some unreal cards coming from my box and the packs are running out and no Molly yet.image I just pulled a really nice Dennis Martinez. I would love to know some of the tuff commons. I have zero insight on the 78's but these commons are 9-10 material.

  • How do we know if our names were forwarded to Steve at BBCE? I PM'd Steve to verify my name was on the list so now I'm just waiting. I'm in CA so I'll probably be the last one to get the packs if my name was still on the list of paid customers.

  • I paid for 3 boxes! I am definitely going to worry until I get my boxes or Steve confirms that I was on the list submitted to him. What really annoys me is that I only bought the boxes to help everyone get the rip done. This is very disturbing.

    Dan,

Steve may be the only one who handled the case but Junkie is the one who collected the $$ in his paypal account.

Until my cards are delivered I for one will be concerned as to whether or not Steve ever got my mailing info.

Who is to say this guy didnt collect $$ from some people and put his own name in place of theirs on the shipping info sent to Steve ?

That is a valid question but I am not freaking out. Gary was still here fishing for a 84 Topps football break AFTER Steve got all of the money and addresses. So, I am pretty confident all is well. We will find out soon enough.

Here are somne of mine. Stars, semistars and some good commons.

My centering and corners was strong thru all 9 packs. I did have some cards - 12-15 in all - that had significant surface wrinkles. Unfortunately the Bench is one of them.

    meale,
i think you would be docked if you asked for no qualifiers. otherwise, imo i say an MK with the brett.

meale, that roller mark is on almost every Brett I have seen. That is a sweet sweet sweet looking card for this particular card. It is a 9 IMO. The card is notoriously a dirty card with the broken full yellow border on the left (on every Brett I have ever seen) and the roller mark (not sure how many I have seen without it)

    GREAT PULL

    soft,
you don't think the marks on the brett will render a qualifier? is it due to this being 'expected' on that card?

    Thanks,

I need to break free from the other thread for a few minutes........ the Brett could get a 9. I had two like that and they both came back 9 NQ. I got around $80 each for them on ebay, so it's a great pull.

The Murray is absolutely gorgeous- I opened about 10 boxes worth of this crap to get that card in that condition, and never did.

This is one rip I'm slowly starting to regret not jumping in on.

YES! Especially the broken yellow border on the left. My PSA 9 Brett has that same roller mark and if memory serves me correct it is almost always there if not always. It is a DIRTY CARD. The SMR article printed about this set about six months ago mentions this also although I happened to be one of the guys interviewed for it so that thought from the article was helped by me.

I'll post a scan in the a.m. but have finished cracking a box. Got the following:

    2 Murray RCs (8's I would guess)
    2 Ryans
    0 Molitors
    3 Guidry
    3 Perry
1 Brett (roller & broken yellow)
    2 Carew
    1 Yaz
    1 Fisk
    1 Schmidt
    2 Jack Morris
    2 McCovey
    1 Winfield
    2 Reggie Jax RB
    1 Rose RB
    1 Rose

I pulled 79 cards that were either HOF or had a shot at a 10 at first glance. I'll go through them a second time this weekend and scan the best.

Guys, these are absolutley fabulous packs - totally pristine. Tight wraps, minimal corner tearing. Gum pops right off the last card cleanly (most of them anyway). Most gums unbroken. There are going to be a lot of 10's added to the pop report soon.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
