I am assuming that all of the payments have to be in before the packs are shipped. If that is true, then Paypal would definitely be better to send because it is quicker. If everybody would send Paypal payments, then we wouldn't have to wait for the mail to deliver the MO's.

P.S. Just a heads-up: ...commons in PSA 10 seem to be going for about $150 each. Here are some examples selling now on ebay: Good luck to all!!!!
I JUST NOTICED THIS: TAKE A LOOK AT THE TWO DIFFERENT PSA HOLDERS USED FOR THESE MINI's! (...take notice that the Hairston card is in a different PSA slab!)
Hey zef i'll have my money in hand when we go bust the case. Let me know when steve gets back to you and it looks like we are ready to go bust it open. Also let me know if you want i'll bring a digital video camera.
Can someone tell me the appeal of the 75 minis? The 75 Topps were probably the heaviest year I bought as a kid and didn't remember seeing any minis on the shelves (this was in the Phoenix area). Later when I started collecting again in the 1980s, the minis appeared to have been shunned by collectors as being an oddball issue. Were they regional? And why would someone collect these over the regular size issue?

They were indeed regional. I think they were only distributed in the Michigan region. I saw a few in PA as a kid but not many. They didn't sell well initially. In pre-grading days, they booked for 1.5x the price of the regular due to their relative scarcity. However, a lot of unopened survived over the years, so the mini packs are actually more common than the regular size packs. That's not to say warehouses are stacked to the roof with them though.
zef, money sent via PPal just moments ago. I sent you an email saying I'd pay by MoneyOrder because I thought you preferred that, too. If you can change your mind so can I!
<< Zef, are the packs going to be mailed out from Baseball Card Exchange??? and will the lots all come from the same box? (I hope) thanks al. >>
Yes and yes!
That sounds good to me! I'll be sending payment for my block of 6 by tomorrow evening. Thanks again, zef, for all your efforts in getting this deal done.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Good luck on the pulls. This might be a good time if you are a seller to list your 8's and 9's before a short term or even possibly longer term price drop of graded cards, once the cards from this case make it to ebay.
I think i'll send a few to psa to grade if they ever get started with there pack grading. I'm begining to think it was rumors just to keep us from submitting packs to gai.
<< <i>Good luck on the pulls. This might be a good time if you are a seller to list your 8's and 9's before a short term or even possibly longer term price drop of graded cards, once the cards from this case make it to ebay. >>
I really don't think that will be an issue.
There are 5760 cards. 1152 approxiamtely will have wax or gum damage. That leaves 4608 cards. I know that someone is leaving 2 full boxes unopened. That brings it down to nearly 4000 cards. Of those, I would bet nearly half the packs remain in tact so that brings it down to about 2000 cards. If every one of those cards are beautiful, with the set containing 660 different cards, thats about 3 cards of each will be opened.
I don't think that is exactly a flood into the market.
<< <i>I'm have to say that I'm really surprised you guys were able to pull this off. It's going to be amazing to watch the rips. Zef, be sure to take a LOT of pictures of the case being cracked. Heck, take a video camera and upload it to youtube. >>
zef, ya know, if you put this on on video you've GOT to have Will Farrell play your part, otherwise we won't recognize you!
If it were me I would rip them. They are fresh from a case from BBCEX. I would think there is no better oppurtunity. Now if I had packs without knowing there history then yah slab them. These should definately be opened IMO
Leaving a box sealed is gold. Anybody who bought a box and will leave it unopened is making a pretty good investment. Those babies will probably look awesome. Clean as a whistle!
<< <i>I don't think that is exactly a flood into the market. >>
Zep,
So if your theory is wrong and there are 5,000 or even 2,000 additional cards on the market, I would call that flooding the market. You can pick fly #hit out of pepper if you want.
I don't plan on ripping my 6 - but ya never know - the temptation may prove too much! I'm still amazed that this project which started out as an obvious joke (nice case break, zef) turned into reality for a good number of collectors, thanks to zef's efforts.
I'm rippin' all six!!! What if you 'non-rippers' don't see any Brett, Yount, Aaron, etc. come out of the ripped packs? Will you change your mind and cut that PSA case wide open?

I can't believe what I just counted!
Amazing...
dtsa - I believe your odds of pulling a Brett card in the 6 packs is 9% if the distrubution of cards is entirely random.
If my first 5 go real well, I will probably keep one sealed.
