My father gave this to me the other nite. Now if he still has the Cassius Clay/ Muhammed Ali auto he got for me the week Ali changed his name I'll really go bonkers. I think my mom threw it out though.

    Good for you.

This was my first sub with mostly newer cards. I was very pleased with the Griffey Black Refractor and I guess David Wright's not a bad one to have these days either.

This tough 2004 Heritage Mays seat arrived today. I'm fairly certain the Mays is the rarest relic Topps has thus far produced. Down to eight more relics to locate and I'll have a complete run from '01 to '06.

Here's a few just back from SGC ( I know, they're not PSA!). Used SGC cuz I think it's a flip of the coin between them and PSA on olders cards like these. They aren't in the greatest condition...but still nice to look at. Thanks for looking-Claude

I think this one is labeled wrong..PSA lists them as 1936 Reemtsma Tobacco cards????..........

  • 1966CUDA1966CUDA Posts: 2,013 ✭✭✭✭
I think PSA is correct on the Owens..it was the 1936 Olympics...just wonder if SGC didn't have enough info so just labeled it "1930's"!! ...I actually submitted another Owens from this set (different pose) to PSA and still waiting for results. I guess I'll see how they label them.
  • pandrewspandrews Posts: 7,598 ✭✭✭
nice stuff Claude, they look good in the SGC holders too..

Wow, that's a pretty major blunder on SGC's part. How can you authenticate a card if you can't even identify it?

What do the PSA clones say? 1. It is only printing/label error, I wish the quality staff would get their act together. 2. Well, PSA grades so many cards, mistakes will happen. Thank god that real errors are rarely seen. The printing & label errors do not count.

Yeah...and it's amazing what that guy did....WAY before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. Owens kicked the crap out of the competition and Hitler's machine!!

This '88 Leaf is a 1/1 PSA9 with none higher -- and none lower. (Graded by '314'...)

    image

And a '90 SI for Kids for my Puckett Registry set. It's also a 1/1 in PSA8 with one higher and none lower. These pops are easily overcome, obviously...
