Combination of names. Ray-me, Cyrus(cy)-son, Carolyn(Ca)-wife. Hence raycyca. I'm the one ER and jack the knife hate. I'm a trauma room nurse that is called "the black cloud" When I'm alone in a 4 bay taruma room, it's NOT uncommon to be working a code, then trauma back to back or side by side. Trouble follows me whenever I'm in there. Life is much better when I work in the ICU. Love this thread! Ray

<< <i>OK, I know this is a little off topic, so don't shoot me. image But, I'm curious about the stories behind a lot of the "handles" people use here on the forum. If your handle isn't your name or your company, then how did you come up with it? In my case, "Petescorner" is the name I use on eBay so it made sense to use the same one here. I have a 3 year old son named Peter, and I figured that most of the coin selling and subsequent coin buying that I do on eBay will some day get passed on to him anyway. Hence, Pete's corner. Anybody else want to share? -Dan <--not Pete image >>

As far as my handle is concerned - its self explainitory!

Prior to the establishment of the Mint, trade in the U.S. was conducted using barter, notes and foreign coins. During the mid-18th century, local standards began to emerge that set the value of foreign gold coins then in circulation. These standards were usually expressed in the form of tables indicating the type of coin, acceptable weight (which was generally well below the weight at time of issue), value in pounds, shillings and pence & value in silver dollars. Because of the fact that not all coins in circulation were of the correct weight, gold and silversmiths began to "regulate" gold coins for their customers - this involved either clipping the coins down to the correct weight, or adding gold to the coins (in the form of a plug) to bring underweight coins up to the standard. The silversmith would often re-engrave the edge of the coin to discourage clipping and put his countermark on it, in order to show that the coin was of the correct value. The most famous of these regulators were Ephraim Brasher (of Brasher Doubloon fame) and Joseph Richardson, the silversmith responsible for George Washington's Indian Peace Medals. Regulated Gold was essential to the day to day business of our country at the very beginning & represents the first gold coins denominated in dollars... It's pretty neat stuff.

Since Ron Mexico has been used elsewhere, I decided to go with Mr Breeze. It came from the title of a Lynyrd Skynyrd song. The "just" of the song was that the singer was never tied down, free to do whatever, footloose, etc., etc., etc. When I was 18, it was cool to think that I could be Mr Breeze. Now that I'm married with my own family, I should probably be mr light wind contained in a small mason jar.

I connected to Furrymuck back in, oh, when was this? 1991, 1992. 1991, probably, I was out of college by that point. No, it had to be 1991, because my friend James, who let me use his VAX account graduated in late 91 and I lost use of that account. So early 91, I connected to Furrymuck and tried to take the handle "Coyote" but it was already taken! I took a similar sounding name.

Led Zeppelin is the Rock band that made me the way I am.....laid back/easy going (sort of like their music). It is the first band that I really enjoyed listening to while doing everyday things. So, the ledzep part of my handle is from the band. The 87 in my handle stands for the year I was born-1987.

So basically, I like Led Zeppelin and I was born in 1987.
