I was just going to post about this. It's awful. I didn't think it would be possible to go backward but it appears we have. Please see the CAC submission portal. That's the way it should be done.
1. The use of a pop-up to enter everything is clunky.
2. The coin entry, why can't you enter a PCGS coin number?
3. If you're going to pull up coin information after you select the coin, why not a pricing grid to help people enter an estimated value?
4. If you want a special label, it asks for a label number and most members won't know this. It provides a URL that takes you to a page of labels but that page doesn't display any label numbers. You made that as tedious of a process as possible. Why not another dialog box to help the customer select the label from a list?
5. The page provide no indication of pricing or what tier the coin is being submitted for. That doesn't come until you enter all of your coins.
Who asked for this? The existing submission process could have just been improved with a few fairly minor fixes and it would have been great.
Edited to add:
The big problem with pop-ups is that you can't really reference prior entries or other information on the main screen or copy and paste from it. You can easily lose track of where you are if you are submitting a pile of coins.

Can we fix the Set Registry now?
I've been searching all day on my flip phone but nothing is working!!

Does this now fix the issue of having multiple submissions shipped back together to save on mailing costs? I mean if we can go in and add all our coins at once and it breaks it up into multiple submissions with different grading tiers, why can’t they all be combined into 1 when they get returned to us. NGC figured out a way to accomplish this, why can’t pcgs?
Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. The newest updates to our Online Submission Center are just the beginning of more exciting improvements coming to our submission process. Our Product and Tech team is already working on improvements like the ones you mentioned in this reply.
You should be able to enter coin numbers on the coin entry. If you are experiencing issues with this feature, please feel free to attach some screenshots so we can take a further look at the issue.

Instead of worrying about submissions why don't you commit some time and resources to the registry, who wants to submit coins to PCGS when the registry is broken!

What's the process to regrade a coin using the new submission center? We tried earlier today and it wasn't immediately obvious.

The features listed above are currently available for raw coin submissions. If you're looking to regrade a coin, you will need to select “Leave Beta” from the yellow banner at the top of the screen to use the old Online Submission Center. We hope to make these features available for other types of submissions in the future!

Agree. I’ve been trying to get a coin added to my Registry Inventory for two weeks. It’s in another person’s inventory and won’t release, but the “removal requests” part of the site & app are broken, so I can’t submit the proof photos to force a removal. I sent a request to Customer Service a week ago, and never got a reply.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
As an update to our submission center, OSC 2.0 does not address shipping issues. You can select different return shipping options for each submission, but we do not currently offer a way to combine return shipping into a single package.

Does this speed the turnaround time for the submission?
I realize it cuts time required by PCGS entering onto your computer the information from the 3 layer submission form. Some of the lines are small and I suspect some information is as difficult to read as it is to write.
This update has made the submission process faster and easier. It does not affect the submission turnaround time.

It's nice to see that @pcgs_education is responding to constructive questions and comments about the new (and IMO totally unnecessary) submission process.
It's whatever the opposite of nice is that we can't even get a RESPONSE about the set registry. It doesn't matter whether we are pleasant or irritated, constructive or sarcastic, we can't get a thing. I guess @Catbert got some bland platitudes and empty promises from Stephanie Sabin at FUN, if I remember correctly.
What will it take? I, and many others, spend thousands of dollars a year, every year, because we enjoy the registry. I don't know how much money I've spent on just reholders because of my passion for varieties. It's extremely frustrating when we open our mouths to beg and plead for help and just get kicked in the teeth time after time.

Really we don't need or want anything "exciting." We just want to stop getting error pages when we go to submit and we want it to be faster and more efficient. All you gave us here is a different way to do the same thing that is arguably less efficient and slightly more difficult.
I did get the coin number search to work when I tried it later this afternoon but it definitely didn't work the first time I tried it.

Since everything will now start out being logged into the portal, is it necessary to still have to print, sign and date 3 copies (2 pages each, 8 pages total including the legalese at the end) of the forms? For me, that's the longest part of the submission process and it seems antiquated, and is a huge waste of paper and ink. With CACG, the terms and conditions box that you check before submitting serves the purpose of the signature and agreement, and you simply print a single page and send it in with the coins.

I emailed setregistry@collectors.com earlier this week; no reply to that email either. So in summary:

I'm really not trying to inflame anyone (here at least
lol). I just want an answer or even a response. These are my orders over the last 12 months. The math on how much money I've spent is easy. And PCGS doesn't owe me anything, they provided the services I paid for...I'm just befuddled at why they think it's acceptable to treat their clients with such disdain.
@alaura22 Do you mean this forum will be shut down? I hope you're wrong but it's certainly possible. If you mean the company as a whole, I have a very different viewpoint. My speculation for some time has been that they are cutting costs wherever possible to improve the bottom line in anticipation of an IPO. Just speculation but it's the only thing I can think of that explains the actions the company has taken.
The thing is, we're not asking for new features either. Just fixes to make it work like it used to I know quite a bit about software development, and a unless complete code re-writes are needed (unlikely), it should be less than a day or two dev effort to fix. Instead their concern is creating a pop-up interface for entering coins when the old way worked just fine. The Product Manager has their priorities completely misaligned, IMO.

Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about the new Online Submission Center and for your candid feedback regarding the Set Registry. We truly value our community’s input and are committed to ensuring your experience with PCGS is as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
The launch of the OSC was an important step forward in our mission to help new and experienced collectors participate in this incredible hobby with confidence. We’re thrilled to see those of you who have already benefited from the streamlined submission process, and we genuinely appreciate the constructive feedback shared so far.
Regarding the SR, we understand that some ongoing issues have caused frustration. Please know that your feedback has been shared directly with the team managing that platform, and they are aware of the concerns being raised. While we don’t have a timeline for resolution for some of the infrastucture problems just yet, we are actively working toward improving the experience and addressing these matters as soon as possible.
PCGS has been proud to support the collecting community for nearly 40 years, and we are committed to investing in the tools, services, and innovations that will carry us forward for decades to come. We are here to support the passion and trust you’ve placed in us, and your voices are integral to that journey.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued enthusiasm for this hobby we all love.

Heather, I am so happy to read you are still part of the PCGS team!
You are one of the good ones and I know you care about your customers. Hopefully you can get the registry issues resolved soon.🤞
While I have had to pass the torch for my moderating duties to some of my incredible team members like @pcgs_education and @pcgs_social I do still frequent the forum to check in on my friends here. Moderating this community was a wonderful opportunity to dive head-first into the hobby and learn from some of the most passionate and knowledgeable collectors. This community is a piece of why I have stuck around for over 6 years now! It's crazy how time flies! It was nice to hang up my ban hammer, though![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

We get the position you’re in and the canned reply ….ok…I do think it’s fair for PCGS to actually own the problems and give a real reply with development timeline even though it’s very unclear how the team responsible let it get this far if we are being frank.
Cool to see you here but would appreciate a real reply from PCGS.
Noticed this for 1941 1C PR. Need a little update.

This forum is VERY important to me, so I need to avoid getting banned, but…..
After such a VERY long time of continuous tech issues that others have likely correctly said are not difficult to fix, but not only don’t get fixed, until @HeatherBoyd gave her “breath of fresh air reply”, never actually get addressed by others higher up at PCGS. That’s disrespectful and rude. I truly hope that Heather’s reply is not just blowing smoke.
Here are some issues off the top of my head that are BROKEN:
I attended the same PCGS FUN Luncheon as @Catbert , and since prior PCGS Presidents spoke at these Luncheons and entertained questions at the end of their talk, I was planning on asking Stephanie Sabin about what actions have been taken regarding these ongoing problems with the Set Registry? Surprisingly, she chose not to take any questions, so I’m glad my friend @Catbert had the guts to go over to her at her table to ask questions. Not that it did any good, as here we are four weeks later with NOTHING resolved, and other than Heather, NO reply!

I have been having the same issue. I would like to add a coin that is in someone else's registry set and without accessing the Activity page I can't send a photo of the coin.
Also I would like to add a coin to the registry set composition, but when I click on that link it takes me to the Oops Page. This has been ongoing for a month. Very frustrating that nobody wants to fix these issues.

I just learned from a thread on the registry forum that if you use the PCGS phone app, one can submit pictures in support of getting the coin switched. I did it and it worked and the coin was switched soon after.

I had been debating whether to add my experiences to the various threads that have discussed the long-standing issues many of you have identified, wondering if doing so might result in my being punished. But your collective willingness to speak up has convinced me I need to weigh in as well, not that I expect much to happen.
A warning: this post is long.
Since August 2023, I have been trying to get the Set Registry folks to fix two small problems with one of the sets (French Modern Republics Decimal Coinage Type Set). Both problems dealt with the absence of coins that were definitely part of the type set; all that was required was to add them. I sent in three emails between August 2023 and April 2024, receiving no response. I tried again, this time with PCGS Customer Service In late April 2024, and got a response from Isidro G., who asked me what my issues were. I sent him the three previous emails. He then responded on April 25, 2024:
"Thank you for the information. I have forwarded this information to the registry team to assist further. It should take 1-3 business days for them to reach out."
I replied by thanking him and saying I would reach out if I didn't hear from them as promised. He in return (April 26, 2024) stated:
"You are welcome. Enjoy your weekend. Please due reach out if you do not hear from them."_
Having received nothing back from Set Registry as of May 14, 2024, I decided to reach out to Isidro by email. Of course, my email went to PCGS Customer Service. That same day, I received the following response from PCGS Customer Service:
"Thank you for reaching out to PCGS. In our relentless pursuit to upgrade the PCGS customer experience, we have created a new form that allows our team to quickly and easily gather all of the information needed to give you the answers you need faster and with more accuracy than ever before. If you need assistance, please visit our Contact Page and fill out the simple form to get the help you need. Thank you for reaching out to the PCGS Customer Care team, we look forward to helping make collecting safe, easy and fun!"
In other words, "please start all over again..."
At this point, I gave up trying to deal with this issue via PCGS Customer Service. I wrote a long snail mail letter to Stephanie Sabin on May 24, 2024, reciting the entire sorry history above in detail and asking her to fix the problem. (If anyone wants a slightly redacted copy of this letter, please let me know via PM,)
I received no response to this letter.
I attended the August 2024 ANA show in Schaumburg IL. As soon as I arrived, I went straight to the PCGS booth. As it happened, Ms. Sabin was there. I spoke with her about this letter and the lack of any reply/action. She stated that she hadn't seen it. As she had to leave for an appointment, she then turned me over to Justin Adkins who was at the table as well. (Before she departed, I suggested she might want to find out why my letter never reached her desk,)
I spent something around 20 minutes with Mr. Adkins, explaining in detail the Set Registry and lack of communications issues I had been raising now for 2 years. The conversation was very pleasant and he seemed very interested in the problems I was having, taking what seemed to be careful notes. I was very hopeful that finally these problems would get the right kind of attention.
On August 8, 2024 (i.e., within 2 days of speaking with him), I received the following email from Mr. Adkins:
"Hi Greig,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for bringing the set registry issues to our attention. Your diligence is greatly appreciated.
I want to assure you that we have noted the missing spots in the French Type set, and our team is conducting thorough research to address and update these omissions. We are committed to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the set registry, and your feedback is invaluable in this process.
We will keep you updated on our progress, and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you once again for your attention to detail and for helping us improve the set registry experience for all users.
Best regards,
Justin"
I responded on August 10, 2024:
"Thanks, Justin. I appreciate the follow up and will await further word from you."
Having heard nothing in 2 months, I emailed him as follows on October 11, 2024:
"Justin,
Unless an update appeared in my Spam folder and I missed it, I don't think I have heard back from you regarding this issue.
Could you let me know where it stands?
Thanks."
Again, no response, so I again wrote him an email on November 20, 2024:
"Justin,
Sorry to be a pest, but I still have no update on this request. It has been 3 months.
I really would appreciate your letting me know what is going on. I was really hopeful after our conversation at the ANA, but I am beginning to be a little concerned over the lack of any response.
Thank you."
As you may imagine, I have had no reply to any of these emails and I have not tried to reach out to him any more.
Moreover, as of today, the underlying Set Registry issues remain unresolved.
My Set Registry issues are tiny compared to some of yours, judging from the numerous posts I have read. But it is incredibly frustrating to see a company that I have done so much business with be so utterly unresponsive. And, it is especially galling in light of the distinct impression Mr. Adkins gave me that my issues would be addressed.
I'm not sure PCGS understands how much demand for their product is driven by Registry participation and quality photography. With major issues on both fronts, and alternative Registry platforms available, they may know soon.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
"In our relentless pursuit to upgrade the PCGS customer experience,...."
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
From November:
"Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your concerns with the PCGS Set Registry and the recognition of your CAC-approved coins. I completely understand your frustration, and I appreciate your patience as we work to address this matter.
We acknowledge that CAC-stickered coins are not always accurately represented in the Set Registry. This inconsistency is a significant concern for many collectors who rely on the registry to track and showcase their collections accurately.
While the PCGS Set Registry currently does not integrate CAC stickers in the manner that many collectors expect, I want to assure you that we are actively working to improve this feature. This situation arose when CACG was established, and the CAC-approved coins were transitioned under the Virginia system. We are encountering ongoing challenges with both CACG and PCGS backend databases, which are causing the current discrepancies with recently stickered coins.
I understand the importance of the CAC sticker to your collection and regret that it is not yet fully reflected in your rankings. However, please be assured that your high-quality CAC coins retain significant value in the marketplace, and many collectors and investors recognize their superior quality. We anticipate that future updates to the Set Registry will resolve these issues and provide better integration with CAC-approved coins.
In the meantime, I encourage you to continue confidently building your collection. We will let you know of any changes to the registry that may enhance the recognition of CAC-approved coins in the future.
If you have any additional questions or if there is anything else I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to let me know. We genuinely value your involvement in the Set Registry and your trust in PCGS.
Thank you once again for your understanding. We look forward to continuing to support your numismatic journey.
Warm Regards,
Stephanie Sabin

I was initially drawn to PCGS for three main reasons: 1) The aesthetics of their holders. 2) The TrueViews. 3) Their suite of apps.
With the degradation of the TrueViews and the now sluggish/intermittently working CoinFacts app, I’m not all that keen on sending coins to PCGS. I certainly wouldn’t send them my best material, as I don’t want subpar pics attached to my best coins.
Ultimately, I agree with @P0CKETCHANGE. It seems PCGS either doesn’t understand what’s driven a lot of their business with collectors, or they’ve stopped caring.
