I fell for a richly toned, original '40s seated dollar at GFRC. Original seated dollars are awesome coins, IMO.

Even worse! I forgot who I purchased the coin from. I asked Paradime Coins to send me the photos when I actually purchased it from Eye Appealing coins. Paradime was wondering "Who is this guy?" Then, I finally figured it out, and Paradime hoped I was happy with the coin wherever I bought it, which was nice.
Actually, all but the 1840-0 and 1875-CC appear to have been gently wiped or brushed. TPGs accept gentle wiping because many coins show some light wiping with a soft cloth.
I was looking for a VG-F to replace a VF details "cleaned" 66-S No Motto, but I couldn't ignore this choice, original-looking AG3 on Great Collections. It's not quite as nice as @Leeroybrown's crusty G4 CAC (October 4th post), but it's a keeper for now!

Here's a CACG VF20 1858-S I grabbed off of GFRC recently. Gerry's photos fail to capture the colorful toning on this coin; he mentions it in his description, though.
Frankly, PCGS has not exactly cultivated my loyalty to them so I purchase CACG coins now and I may join their open registry. PCGS did pass their "Change or Adios" test and changed the label for two of my 1855/54 halves that were misidentified as normal dates. For that, I'm grateful. Thanks, PCGS.

Oh my! That's sweet! I've been going nuts looking for a decent VG-VF 70-CC for a while now. I missed a recent auction by two minutes for an average VF30. It closed a little higher than I was willing to pay, and I would have likely gotten into another bidding war if I had. It's the last hole to fill. I purchased and returned one years ago based only on a written description (guess the seller). It turned out to be as bright as a chrome bumper. Yuck.
I did pick up this AG3 1866-s No Motto last Sunday as a cheap upgrade for my PCI VF35 that did not cross to PCGS because of a past cleaning.

I just found out two mislabeled 1855 over 54 overdates that I resubmitted have been relabeled with the correct labels by PCGS free of charge. I thank @PCGS_Hy for his excellent efforts on getting this done for me. I was really cranked by this, and he came in and saved the day for me.

I find that slab shots in general more accurately represent a coin than glamour shots.
I'm trying to pick up graded coins for my collection now, but sometimes the best coins available are raw. I couldn't pass up this nice-looking raw 1869-S pushing AU50.

Thanks. Pop is 10, 49 better. Coinfacts shows last trade in 53 as 2014 & total of 8 AUs traded since 2011. CAC is 15:5 and 7:0 in AU. S-mint. All compelling metrics.

Over 150 years old, one of the top AU examples extant, obtainable for low three figures. The Liberty Seated part of this hobby is great for sure!

A very nice coin. the highest surfaces should not also have the most gloss so probably polished. I would have to see in hand to determine if whizzed. James

Not a rare date and probably lightly cleaned but I like it:
I'll show a picture in hand when I get it - some of the picture looks to be artifact. Under the Left eagle wing is one of the suspect areas...

Actually, all but the 1840-0 and 1875-CC appear to have been gently wiped or brushed. TPGs accept gentle wiping because many coins show some light wiping with a soft cloth.

@skier07 The 1859-O and 47-O are excellent.
Here's for one my first seated halves, a common 58-O that was quick to find in decent shape as a raw coin.

1859 is also a good date for picking up nice looking coins.
