LOL! Oh to buy so many things and then forget the appearance. Lucky you! 🙂

Love the mixture of the colors on this dime! Not a common date either.

Acquired recently PCGS F12 CAC, an upgrade of a not so nice PCGS VG8.

Perfect for the grade! Ask CAC.

Here are early TrueViews of inexpensive coins scrounged from my collection to fill holes in my registry set or for resale. PCGS is still working on them, hence the dark background.

"1840-O WB-11, 146 reeds, Large O" PCGS VF35 - PCGS failed to attribute this coin fully with a reed count as I had requested. A WB-11 with 145 reeds is an R2. A WB-11 lacking die breaks with 146 reeds is an R6, so it's important to count the reeds on any WB-11 without die breaks. The coin is labeled "WB-11, Large O" with no reed count.

    1859 PCGS XF45 - a duplicate

    1861 PCGS VF25 -

    1875-CC PCGS F12 -

    1876-CC PCGS F15 - duplicate

Great originality in all of the halves!

    1871 S Half
Not a rare date and probably lightly cleaned but I like it:

I'll show a picture in hand when I get it - some of the picture looks to be artifact. Under the Left eagle wing is one of the suspect areas...

    Love that Milled British (1830-1960)
    Well, just Love coins, period.

Even worse! I forgot who I purchased the coin from. :D I asked Paradime Coins to send me the photos when I actually purchased it from Eye Appealing coins. Paradime was wondering "Who is this guy?" Then, I finally figured it out, and Paradime hoped I was happy with the coin wherever I bought it, which was nice.

    EAC sent these photos along.

Actually, all but the 1840-0 and 1875-CC appear to have been gently wiped or brushed. TPGs accept gentle wiping because many coins show some light wiping with a soft cloth.

A classic 1856 half dime, with the weak dentils.
But also with some nice strong clashing.

    Tough coin, great look.

Nice @JBN How will this coin fit within your PCGS set or are you unconcerned with this?

Thanks. A textbook XF45. The only other XF/AU 58-S that I've seen while assembling the collection was the XF45 from the Spring Creek Collection (PCGS certs beginning with 3818). I was an underbidder.
As a rule I go PCGS/CAC. There are cases where the coin and opportunity overrides.
I have updated my CAC registry sets. My PCGS sets will stay with my WB-10 example.

Pair of recent acquisitions courtesy of DLRC and GFRC. Both fill difficult holes in the set and appear truer in hand to their in-slab view in appearance than the CAC image secure view.

Any ideas on how to carefully remove this invasive green stuff? diluted acetone? (for how long should I leave it in the solution?)

    Lovely coins

I find that slab shots in general more accurately represent a coin than glamour shots.
