President Kennedy's "With Appreciation" medal. Bronze, 44,5mm. Manufactured by the US Mint for President Kennedy's use. Mintage 300. Designed by Frank Gasparro (obverse and reverse). One had to earn the gratitude of President Kennedy to receive this medal.
Obviously, this medal pre-dates the Kennedy half-dollar and is a historic presidential numismatic artifact that was awarded by President Kennedy himself.
What's the story behind this with Chick-fil-A on it? First I've seen. There were no Chick-fil-A establishments in my area back then so if that was a promo back in '76 that's pretty cool.
Older cell phone pics of my Dansco from the archives.
Was mostly put together with pocket change back in the day, barring for the NIFC/proofs.
But had most fun helping my son put together his very first set during the lockdown from CRH alone.

Very nice! I’m sure that one would sell for PL money w/o resubmitting for PL.
It is funny you should state that.
I ended up selling it for about $70. A few weeks later the buyer notified me he had cracked it out and submitted
to NGC where it is now housed in an MS66 PL slab.

I just hate when that happens and from the pics it looks like it might pass at PCGS as well though a cleaning might be in order.
Here's something different and off-topic, but I find it interesting.
John Kennedy was viewed as a very handsome man. I can remember the women swooning over him when he ran for president in 1960.
Oddly enough, it is possible to take an unflattering picture of anyone, and Kennedy was no exception. Among political items collectors, this is known as the "bug eyed Kennedy." It is a bit scarce, and there is a large and small version of it. The odd portrait and limited numbers have caused these pieces bring a fairly strong prices for fairly new buttons. The small one sells for around $75, and few hundred dollars for the large one.

Here is one of the very common, much more attractive Kennedy buttons. The last time I was at the JFK Library, they were selling copies of these buttons. Fortunately they were marked as such.

Have you considered resubmitting for PL? Currently 3 and only 1 in MS68.

Would like to but I am not a PCGS member, and it would have to be submitted via piggyback or by a PCGS dealer.
It is a pretty nice looking coin.
