3? You were lucky. I distinctly remember packs with four different cards, repeated four or five times each (to make the total of 18). That Seaver was the least of their problems.

Something a little different , how about ticket of the day . One year before the 1936 Olympics , Jesse Owens won 4 events at the 1935 NCAA track and field championships . Scoring 40 pts for Ohio state .

Here’s a pair of Mickey’s from back to back years: 1962 and 1963. From the Exhibit Supply Co., these were the two seasons where they tried to ‘update’ the 1947-1966 set by adding statistics to the backs of the cards. The batting pose had been part of the blank backed set already, as well as his rookie uniform portrait card and the more bust style portrait of the early sixties.

PS - The reddish tint on the front of the 1963 is not always present on every example from that year but I think it gives it a nice look.

This is a beautiful example of a very famous card. It has been rumored that this is in the running for the ‘most sold’ card of all time. The card isn’t perfect by any means but it presents really well because of nice centering and an outstanding print job. If you comb through other examples, you’ll find Mickey’s often got some blur and because there’s a lot going on on the front of the card, it can result in lots of prominent fisheyes and obvious roller lines but they’re also pretty subdued here.

I have always liked the look of this Teddy Ballgame. Exhibits are a very cool issue and this is the rarer of the two poses featuring the Splendid Splinter; aside from the pinhole and a faint crease that starts above pinhole and slopes toward right side of card it’s in pretty nice shape and presents well…

It’s in a tall boy holder, yes, but it’s a little smaller that the 1964 Topps Giants which fills that holders’ space up pretty well.

I never knew this existed and I thought I had seen every Bo card during his playing days from all the time on forums and ebay...apparently not! I was 8 so I probably never saw the poster either.

I promised my wife I wouldn't buy anymore Bo stuff...but I never said I wouldn't trade for it. I'll trade you some cash for it, lol.

Forty years ago today, #Chiefs running back Joe Delaney gave up his life for three total strangers.

June 29, 1983. A trio of boys got into a man-made pond at a park in Delaney’s home state of Louisiana. They struggled. Delaney did not hesitate to try to help:

“I can’t swim good, but I’ve got to save those kids,” Joe Delaney said as he headed for the water. “If I don’t come up, get somebody.”

One of the boys made it to safety. Two others drowned. Joe Delaney drowned, too, leaving behind a wife and three young daughters.

He was only 24.

Today, we remember Joe Delaney, a HERO who gave up his life for others. You will never be forgotten, Joe.
