These Mexican 8 Reales are pretty cool, the mirror fields are Awesome! And certainly come toned quite different than Morgan dollars.
@lordmarcovan , the pilgrim is in my collection now, your memory is fading! I was and still am very pleased with it and it stayed with me, in the sense that it is among my keepers, that barely represent 40% of my coins. The other 60% can go at a moment’s notice.
Here’s a coin of which I have multiples, certified gems and raw, a Greek 1910 silver drachma, but it’s not only the color,90% accurately represented here, but it’s amazing luster under all that color that made me buy it. Unfortunately invisible in the image. I’ve just submitted it and I’m curious as to what it’s grade will be. If it weren’t for the luster, I’d say that it’s ceiling was ΜS63, but now I expect much better.
And an Egyptian 10 qirsh from the same auction, also submitted just yesterday
Let's see some new toners from the last few months! Here's a new one I got, will have to see how it looks in hand (matte proof). Eye appeal seems kinda meh on most of these, this one - especially the reverse - seemed interesting.
Didn’t succeed in winning this lot sold at Stacks Bowers. Even at MS62, with relatively high mintage, this coin brought big bucks. Absolutely stunning color.

Here's my first (after well over a decade of looking at their coins and drooling over every Early Bird) CRO purchase from NYINC. I have tried and failed miserably to photo this coin so I will resort to the PCGS glamour shot. In hand it is sweetly reflective and toned, though not quite as ostentatious as the Trueview shows. It was completely unneeded as I have another of the date in a similar grade, but much closer to white. But variety is the spice of life.

Japan, trade dollar 1877 with chopmarks
Yen 1870 with counterstamp "silver" by Osaka mint place 1897
Republican dollar 1916-17 with president Yuanhun, China
Here is one big coin. 1000 cash 1853-54, issued in Peking, Chine (Chin or Tsing empire), time of bloody Civil war with millions victims.

And. Do you know our old russian way to make coin's patina? It's easy, hold coins in glass bottle and sometimes shake it.
I hope that everybody understood the joke about the glass bottle. Of course i don't shake the bottle. Only hold.
It's rare coin, dollar Anhwei province 1898, Tsing Empire (Chine). The mint place in Ankin city was destroyed in time of The boxers rebel (ihetuan).
Halfdollar Fengtien province, 1898. The mint place in Mukden city was destroyed the same. Than Russian empire occupated the North of China.
Dollar Fengtien province, 1903. They restored the mint place later. Reverse's stamp has corrosion and split.
This isn't a super valuable coin by any stretch of the imagination, but it's one that just came back from grading not too long ago. I bought it cheap at ANA in August out of a dealer's row box. 1960 is odd among this series because it's the only year where a bunch of coins (including this one) are tied for top pop at MS65. The top pop for every other year is 66 or higher.
Late to the Tuesday party but I figured I'd share these two side by side. Both MS64. Edward VII is such a short set for shillings, but I don't think I could bring myself to ever complete it.
