Getting a little jump on Toner Tuesday. Ebay NEWP. Alamos (As) type coin. PCGS MS65.

Very nice, I saw that coin with the poor photos and the Trueview was incorrectly showing a german medal. Nice snag,
Thanks, Brian. You are very right about the photos and the Trueview which was showing either a very old Russian or German medal. That was certainly a gamble on my part and one that I normally wouldn't take. I needed an Alamos coin for my mintmark set and landing one in PC 65 is difficult. There are only 6 total from that mint in PC 65, all of the hoard date 1893 with one coin better, an 1890 in 66 which I'm sure is locked up. Had it been a common Mo or Zs coin that would have been a no go for me. I had to put faith in PCGS that at the 65 level the coin would be nicer than the eBay images showed it. Those 1893-As ML coins come nice and it worked out. I called PCGS customer service and they were great as in one day the image was updated to show the correct coin.
Off topic...great race in the NL Central this year between our two teams!!

I'm still in my first cup of coffee and I see this! What a super array of toners. I'm going to the WFM in Philadelphia today. I know I'll see some in person. Thanks. Peace Roy
How did this thread go quiet for so long? I'll see if I can find a few in my newer photo files...and I still need to try axial lighting to do a better job with color.
Here is yet another one of the double hoo birds. I had no intention of buying it (I'm well past 'dupe'...perhaps 'quad' or so), but I spotted it about an hour from closing on Heritage a few months back and I accidentally placed a winning bid.
