PCGS graded this one as VF25. CAC liked the coin as well. 1899-S. My favorite date and mint:

    1899-O... another great date! PC20...

@sedulous I love the look of that 99-S Tim! I know you do 45s so if you ever upgrade from that one, keep me in mind ok?

The latest Barber in my collection:

    I think it's a nice coin for a 62.

    I love them Barber Halves.....

I haven't forgot Jed. I tend to grab the '99-S as a date like candy. As the '09-O in XF/AU is rare, the '99-S is rare in VF. I really love the quality of that '99-S in PC25 CAC and really would like to keep it for now Jed. Provenance was GreatCollections, a December 21, 2014 auction.

Tim, glad you like the 09-O in PC45. It's a nice coin.

Another date pair (1908-S quarter) Which one do you believe is VF35? along with the other one VF30? You don't get to answer if you have previously owned either of these two coins.

I in the planning phase to possibly part with these for an XF '08-S upgrade (will see).

@jedm Jed, To add to the visual pleasantries of the PC25 '99-S in PC25, I have this PC30 '99-S in PC30:

I'd guess the first one of those '08-S is the 35 .... and Tim I don't blame you at all for wanting to keep that '99-S.

I just bought a rare bird or PCGS missed an added MM! A 14-S Quarter with a clear MM! 1st I've seen. What do you guys think?

I saw that on Heritage's auction ending last night. I agree, a tough get with clear mintmark. I bid on it but I am glad you got it Darrell, Congratulations.

Surprised you didn't post that up when it was discussed here earlier! Your coin makes me feel a bit better about it not being an added S. Yours is only the 2nd I have seen that is not a blob!

Darrell, We discussed the rarity of the clear S in this forum before. The (slightly) clear S is out there but it kind of is like finding a centered 1897-S... just rare, no other way to state it.

Darrell- I believe the discussion you're referring to took place last summer sometime. I purchased the coin posted yesterday in October (last fall). At the time of the discussion I had this one in my collection (since sold):

PCGS F15. It's still the semi-clear MM. I didn't know it was that uncommon.

Go scroll through the heritage archives and the like. When that discussion took place I couldn't find a 14-S quarter with a clear MM.

Thank you Jeff for the PC55 1893-O BQ with Clashed Dies pictured here. This will fit nicely next to my 1892-O BQ Clashed Dies FS-901 in PC58 (#39521460 out on CoinFacts). - Tim

Note the mintmark placement is the Far Right High O version.

I just love the coin and color.

I had to work to track down Milo's 1908-S PCGS XF40! I didn't know he sold it. Thank goodness I was successful acquiring the coin before Liz Coggan was able to sell it (at the precipice of oblivion never to be seen again!). My saving grace was that Liz didn't have a picture of the coin portrayed on her website. I have macro'd the coin here. Post-Milo, along the way the coin got CAC green beaned... gorgeous and a great addition to my XF set. Thank you Milo and Liz for the help related to info on the wherabouts!

Nice '08 S , Tim! Inspired me to pull out mine and make a combo Photoshop image of it:

I purchased it raw about 1 year ago. It was encapsulated in the early stages of Covid. What a year it has been.

Not trying to upstage you, Tim. Yours has a CAC sticker!

Jeff, Your PC58 ain't too shabby either bud! I also should mention I had to trade up your VF35 to be able to acquire Milo's in XF40. It was the price of admission after Liz saw your coin - very colorful and a great example. FYI on that... Tim
