Tough early 1990's Pinnacle Griffey. Searching forever to find something 9 or higher (only 5 higher stashed away in collections).
Takes me to just over 80% complete 177/221 in my Griffey Basic set! LINK

I've been waiting forever for one of these to pop-up again for sale,its only the 2nd Orbit 5x7 Nike Poster card that I came across on ebay since I started collecting these in 2017. It has a crease near the center of the card but I'll definitely take that to be able to knock this one off my list.

This was a lot of fun. On Tuesday night I was walking my dog Grace Kelly and talking with our neighbor Linda who has her boyfriend the little poodle Captain and said I need to focus on this EBAY auction it is coming down to the wire. She thought it was fun and so I explained to her the pitfalls of the auction and that the Road Warriors card would probably have a wrinkle in it but you don't know until you open and how condition sensitive these cards are. I proceeded to win the auction for the pack of 1986 Carnation Major League Wrestling cards and she was intrigued when I explained how technical the card grading was and that pack fresh cards might still not deliver.

Today my wife and I got some take out sushi from one of our favorite Japanese restaurants and killed it. I said lets go for a walk and I started chatting with my neighbor Stephanie as she walked her dog and sure enough Linda and Captain were walking by and they came up and joined us. Linda and I were chatting and she asked if I had gotten the cards yet and I said you know they might be in the mailbox. I said let me check and they were. Shipped in a plain white envelope but thankfully an attempt and helping the cards travel safe was made. I opened the envelope and the pack looked fine and so I cut it open and pulled out the cards and put them in card savers and then flipped over the Road Warriors card and said see this is what most look like with this paper wrinkle. She was surprised it hurt the grade so much. I said OMG check out this Rick Martel. I have one of the two PSA 9's and this is Mint. The centering is a fraction off side to side but this is a stunning card and honestly I think has a very serious shot at a 10.

I am always hunting.

Love the 72 Ryan’s and I love seeing every Griffey posted.

I bought 2 collections over the past 2 months and have been elbows deep with every spare moment going through to organize, submit and figure out exactly what I have. I am not a big auto collector but one had a great deal of autos in it certified and in person. Here are some of the in person ones I hope pan out as legit.

This is kind of neat! My parents are moving out of their house and they’ve been die hard twins fans. In one of our boxes I found our unopened 1987 wheaties box celebrating the 87 word series champions! Still has the wheaties inside! Going in my collection now!
Does the BBCE actually wrap something like this if I sent it to be wrapped?

I didn't buy this but I rediscovered it in my collection. Nomo was may favorite player when I was a teenager and I bought his Takara team set in 1990. I believe this is Nomo's only true rookie card. For some reason there is a yellowish stain in the upper right hand corner. It'll probably get graded just to get it slabbed up and preserved.

I finally found one of these 1989 Los Ases de la NBA Jordan's with its original backing but unfortunately its got some surface issues including what looks to be like some type of adhesive to the left of his face. Still pretty rare though with only a couple of PSA 3's as the total pop for this sticker.

Awesome pick ups guys ! Love the Baines rc, the Martel which does look like a 10 to me and the Jordan post card. I got this delivered today. First time I’ve owned the Dr’s rookie. Can’t afford a super high end one, but this one fits with my collection.

I am not liking the Appling and Bell cards though. They just seem a little too "flowing". Bell signatures are usually very tight and small.

And...

That Puckett just looks horrible to me. It looks nothing like any of his autographs I own or have seen and given that card is 1996 time frame, I would assume any signature on a card than new would look like the typical Puckett were all all used to seeing. if it were early in his career, maybe I could buy that as an early signature if there were others that were close.

Here is what happens when you want to at least win one of the cards, the auctions both end at the exact same time, the final price is lower than expected and your snipe group you setup can't pick one winner (I knew the group would not work). I knew this might happen if they went for lower than expected, better than not winning either!

I wanted to start this set a long time and never did. Then a thread resurfaced and it got me thinking about it again. Don’t think I can do the full 91 card set so I just started with the Heisman winners. First three came today and then I also got a Bob Lily because it just looked too good.

I hadn't been picking up much during the run up the past few months, other than some precious metals, but got the bug again and started grabbing some items several days ago. I got this from a guy who ran a graphics company and requested some holographic samples from 3M in 1991. Just so happens it's a sticker that was used for the 1991 Pro Set Arnold Palmer Award Hologram insert. Black adhesive back on a clear plastic backing ...

It makes sense, but I never realized these Pro Set Holograms were stickers or have any clue who made them for Pro Set.

I appreciate the feedback. We will see what happens to them. I am most doubtful of the Puckett. The Bell looked pretty rigid to me at the first glance. Like I said autos are not my typical game but the rest of the deal was a slam dunk for me.

Fifth day of the month and you guys are already crushing it, huh? Keep it up, everybody!

I am fortunate to have added to my Mickey Mantle stockpile a bit this month. I think we've reached the point where the man's signature is nearly a recognizable work of art unto itself; for me, it always has been. This signature is on an actual piece of art from the "Sports Hall of Fame" series of premiums release by the Equitable Life Insurance Company from 1963-73 based on a sketch by the artist George Loh. The signature already has the PSA/DNA treatment but I will likely get it dual graded somewhere down the line...

@NGS428 - Thanks!! Got some fun one's to share. A few were in old holder's and have been sent off to re-holder so may be a bit before I get them back. One I sent off for re-holdering is a beautiful 1990's POP 5 PSA 10 and I only paid $56 for it!!

$56 for a pop 5 MJ sounds like a steal in this frenzy!
