You don't have to tell me Darrell, I know the coins you are looking for...the 09, 10 and 14 D mint coins. They are going to be toughies...good luck!

Darrell - I'm of the opinion that condition rarity is generally used with regard to a very common coin that happens to be rare in very high grade, like an 81-S Morgan in MS68. I guess using your definition, a Poor-1 81-S Morgan would be a condition rarity. And I imagine someone putting together a lowball set would pay way over 63 money for that Poor-1. To each their own.

Darrell, Can't afford a table, but I'll be walking around doing more selling than buying. The Stash is overpacked! I'll bring PQ stuff too.

Darrell - Got to give our hosts credit for marketing genius, lowball sets, everyman sets, plus grades, digital albums. I wonder what will come next?

Dave - Good to hear from you. No FUN for me this year.

I'll post an image this AM; a new pickup for the Everyman Set. I've purchased 3 nice raw 1897 Halves over the last year hoping to get a 58; all 3 came back as 55's. I'm giving up on looking for the raw 58 so I purchased one in the slab.

    1897 PCGS AU 58 50C:

It's an easy date and almost nothing for the Registry set, but I think it's a nice coin (albeit too white for most). It looks good in my diverse set!

The coin has plenty of original skin- it's just white with a slight bronze tint. Do you have a problem with white skin?

Was it a coin a guy from Italy had on ebay? I was suspicious of that one.

Look forward to seeing you Lenny

Just a word to advise any Half Collectors that there are some really choice collector grades in the FUN Heritage Sale ( not my coins, but a friend's ) and if you have a moment, check out these once they open up the Catalog for public viewing:

    1894-O in PCGS 58

    1897-O in PCGS 25

    1898-S in PCGS 53

    1901-S in PCGS 50

    1902-O in PCGS 55

    1903-S in PCGS 55

    1904-O in PCGS 53

    1908-O in PCGS 55

    1909-O in PCGS 53

    1915-S in PCGS 58

A few weeks after the FUN auctions - the weekly Internet Only auctions will contain these:

    1894-S in PCGS 55

    1896-P in PCGS 53

    1899-S in PCGS 53

    1900-O in PCGS 50

    1900-S in PCGS 55

    1906-D in PCGS 55

    1915-D in PCGS 58

Sorry, but I do not have images other than what Heritage is providing.

So far, the only images I have received are from the FUN auctions, not the

    Weekly Internet auctions.

I have inspected all the coins and they are really choice for their grades. None of

these coins were ever sent to CAC, as my friend is not a member and I didn't want to

send them in fear they would not make the consignment deadline. IMHO, most would have

    Green Beaned.

Thanks for reading. I believe it's only SPAM when they're your coins. This announcement

    Is a Public Service announcement....image

Darrell - You could be right, there is a revenue stream to be had by going to the 100 point scale.

Doug - The quality of your barber quarter collection is unrivaled. Thank you very much for allowing it to "stay in the family". I only wish I could afford to keep them all.

Mike V - And my pics don't do it justice.

Darrell - Can't say about barber halves, but there will be no shortage of homes for Doug's quarters. This level of quality doesn't come along every year (or decade).

Mike - Good looking 92-O, Congrats.

I have found that the 05-S Half is extremely difficult to locate as nice as Jim's.

My XF 45 in my current set doesn't hold a candle to that coin.

Looks like we're in for a major Drool Session, now that Vern has all

    of Doug's Quarters.

I especially like the 07-S - although it looks under graded for a 53. Beautiful coin !!

At the Ft Myers Coin Show last month, our Paesan sold me a raw AU 07-S - Quarter

the reverse is at least a MS 64 the obverse was lightly cleaned - but it makes no

matter if I get it into a Genuine Holder AU details, I'll be happy !

One of these days, I'll end up with a fully graded example

(aside from my VF 25 hole filler !! )

Newp / Upgrade for the worst struck Half in the series: 1902-O & this is no exception !

The toning sold me on this one !

    image

The new { finally !! } Grade of Choice ! It took me long enough !!

Jeff...you're certainly plugging along with the new Quarter set, huh ?

Looks nice - softer strike on the sinister claw as i remember ! I think

an acetone bath to remove some impurities might be in order.

Chatted with a friend abut his Halves - and he's upgraded an old friend of mine

    which is now "coming home"...
