I agree, Ron. I enjoyed it while I owned it.

    If I hadn't found my new 97-O in 65 - I would
have kept this one for a longer period of time.

Darrell.... I have forwarned them about some tricks some old seasoned dealers play on newbies.

They're both pretty Savy about shows and dealers. They'll do okay.

    Good luck, guys.

    Darrell, I've made a tape recording for the show. There are three responses on it;

    A) "Tell you what...how about I go to your table and pick out my favorite coin and you sell it to me at grey sheet. Then we'll talk."

    2) "Give me your bank account and routing number. I'll deposit any cash I make here directly to you."

    D) "Do you think I'm as stupid as you look?"

Taking suggestions for more responses. Have at it fellas!

Sounds like you are ready for your debute at the show.

Stop by and say hello at Baltimore! I'm at table 455.

Edit...seems they changed the table numbers during the Summer show and I wasn't there. Correct number is listed now.

Justin, Just settled in to my room after a 16 hour drive. I plan to meet Vern and a few others for breakfast before the show tomorrow. I'll be at show all day Thursday and probably till about 4 on Friday. Then driving to NC to visit my dad Saturday before driving back to my tropical paradise on Sunday.

Darrell, I'll make it over to see you for sure. Hope you brought your newps to show off.

    Hello all,
Been awhile since I posted here. I still lurk at all the great Barbers.
I sold all of my Quarters to concentrate on my 1899 Mint set. I think my Iphone take better pictures than my other device.
Here is the Quarter from my set.

The Baltimore Show was quite a thrill for me. Vern, it was an honor and privilege to meet you and your buddies, Glen and Keith. Also had the pleasure of meeting Tom Smith (Key Date Rare Coins) and his lovely wife, Regina. Friendliest dealer you'll ever meet! Also, great to get to know Vic and Sherry Bozarth. Good to see Darrell again and see his 58s up close. Special thanks to the folks at JJ Teaparty, the classiest act in town, for all my newps, great conversation, expert opinions, and for setting the standard in how to be a coin dealer, IMHO!

Honestly, if it ended right there and I didn't look at a single coin, it was a perfect trip.

    Jeff....that's a wonderful 1892-O Half...one of the better 58's I've seen of this date.

Darrell..... Glad to hear your show turned positive ! A bit worried because Thursday was a wash out.

Lenny.... Sounds as if you never went to a Baltimore show before. It's a great experience if you are not stuck behind a table. Glad you got to meet Vern and his friends. The dealers you spoke of, the Bozarths and Tom Smith are great to work with as well. Never met Tom in person, but have bought a few things from him. Of course, we all realize the folk at JJ Teaparty are first rate. I've been working with them since they worked at Bowers and Ruddy. ( since 1970 ).

I had a great time in Baltimore, with the highlight being meeting and spending time with Lenny. Over the years we've developed a good friendship, which now is taken to a higher level. The show itself was about the norm, a couple of nice purchases, nothing rare. As usual, the best part was meeting and having conversations with coin people, collectors and dealers alike. Also, for the first time in Baltimore, I spent a little time behind the Liberty Seated and Barber club table. Thanks to John Frost for the opportunity, and Dennis, it was a pleasure to make your acquantance.

Darrell - Thanks for showing the group of your 58 collection you had with you. Here's hoping the plusses come through.

    <<br>>
Justin - Great looking '97-S newp. Missed seeing you on Friday, hope you got something for the freezer

Kevin - Glad to see you're still with us. Nice '99 qtr.

Mike - Congrats on the surf city 98-S, and good show of the year 1899.

Jeff - I like your '92-O, good luck at Ft. Myers.
