Despite all the ineptitude, Dallas has a chance to tie this game up, though the odds seem to be stacked against them.

Take away Barkley's 68 yard run, and he has a miserable day of 17 carries for 38 yards.

LOL, you can't "take away" a magnificent 68-yd TD run that was the reason the Giants almost pulled off the upset.

Over 100 yds rushing and a TD, not a bad first game in the NFL. Jax is arguably the best team in the NFL defensively. I expect the Giants to play better going forward. Barkley will be a special back.

The Giants need to improve the OL and do a better job at pass protecting.

Almost pulled off the upset? What good does "almost" do? LOL

The Jaguars were 10-6 last season, and this was a home opener for the Giants. An NFL team should usually be expected to win a game such as this at home, if they're looking to make the playoffs. Especially with a new "special back" now on the team.

Frankly, it's arguable that the Giants 2018 season is already done. It's also arguable before that, when they mistakenly picked Barkley, that their 2018 season was already done.

Of course it's likely that Barkley will have a season of good stats overall, we all know that. However, we shall see how much it improves the Giants won-loss record, and their future going forward.

It's also arguable that the Giants 2019 season is also already done. Maybe in the 2019 draft, they want to screw it up again, and go for another number of years of not making the playoffs. LOL

The Giants have a lot more to address than just the QB position. You like to pontificate, I know that, we all know that, and we also all know that at least half of what you assert turns out to be nonsense, we all know that, too, but one thing is for certain, there's a lot of football left and the Jets are going to see if a top 3 QB in the draft has any impact on a team's fortunes, LOL..

"pontificate" - i see you've been busy with a thesaurus. Good for you. LOL

Where the Giants are making their fatal mistake, is believing that they shouldn't be in a rebuilding phase coming off a putrid 3-13 season.

The Giants should be in a rebuilding phase. And a team should not place a high first round pick on a running back as a priority when in a rebuilding phase.

Is that clear enough for ya, or do i pontificate?

Like I said, you like to pontificate, I know that, we all know that, and we also all know that at least half of what you assert turns out to be nonsense, LOL..

The Eagles got you feeling your oats, that's understandable, too, LOL..

Repeating yourself - do you realize that's one of the first signs of dementia. But it may not be your fault, could just be the New York water supply causing it. LOL

He did, but I think the ceiling is higher with Mahomes at the helm. Smith is a solid QB, though, no argument there.

Oh definitely. The Chiefs were hard to predict when trying to pick which teams might be contenders for the AFC this season with a first year QB at the helm but he had a great game today. I bet his rookies take a nice spike over the next few days.

I hate to say this but the Cowboys are far from done.

Some pundits have picked the Panthers to represent the NFC in the upcoming Super Bowl. So the Cowboys lost today to a pretty good football team. Plus this was a road game for the Cowboys. The Cowboys losing this game was no surprise.

Frankly, if Carson Wentz continues to miss too many games, i'd have to say that the Cowboys might be the favorite to win the NFC East. (Damn did I hate typing those words :s)

    Big time fan of both.

    Seaver an obvious class act.

And in my view Namath is a class act as well in the framework of how good he was for the game. Plus, despite his faults with the Suzy Kolber thing, etc, i happen to like him personally.

It's arguable in the modern area of the NFL, that no player was ever better for the game than Joe Namath, for a multitude of reasons.

Thanks, actually his second NFL start, he started the last regular season game against Denver last year and won.
He looked in control, never looked rattled. I believe he's the real deal. Was fun to watch the offense, not so much the defense.LOL. Special teams actually won the game for the Chiefs.

I kept checking the boxscore to see how he was doing throughout the game. Is Eric Berry still out injured? I thought one of the pre-game shows said he was ready to go today but he wasn't in the boxscore.

    Damn tough loss for Chicago.

as gross as it gets, but i sensed it. i almost popped off on here when it was 20-0, but i knew better. ARodg deserves plaudits, no question about it, but the Bears have no one to blame but themselves. no one could step up and make a play to stop the bleeding.

and if i see another d-back like Kyle Fuller drop a breadbasket pick to essentially ice a game, i swear i'm going to bust into dimeman's casa and drink every strawberry daiquiri i can get my hands on.

Glad to see Denver win. Hopefully the Broncos will compete for the division title this year.

The undrafted rookie running back Denver has went to th in e same high school I did.

I might have jinxed them with my Kizer comment, I didn't see the Rodgers injury so I just assumed he was out for good.
I hear ya on the Fuller drop those can be very demoralizing to a team,NE lost an undefeated season because #$%%^& *&^$##@ !@#$)^% Asante Samuel couldn't catch an Eli pass that was thrown right to his hands.

Denver is the one AFC team I fear the most from a NE perspective. Keenum threw three picks and they still won the game.

I fear Denver in Denver, at home I’m not as concerned.

Sam Darnold's first NFL pass goes for a pick 6.

Who the heck are these announcers on MNF! They make you want to stick an ice pick in your ears.

    Bring Gruden and Mike back......PLEASE!
