In the case of the kneelers, if they were protesting out of moral conviction they would understand that it might cost them playing time, their current job and future employment opportunities.
I will point out that "kneeler zero", Colin Kaepernick, is experiencing 100% of this, and when he was still wearing an NFL uniform was still willing to risk all of the above. Many here certainly believe he deserves everything he's gotten, but none of you can say he lacks conviction or hasn't put his money where his mouth is.
Many of you will also argue that it isn't his convictions or his kneeling that has cost him an NFL job, but rather his skillset (or lack thereof). If you believe that there are 96 quarterbacks in the NFL right now that are better than him, you're delusional. A casual glance at some of the QBs taking the field would prove my point. Oh yeah, I forgot. A lot of y'all are boycotting and therefore can't/won't see what I'm talking about.

Tom Brady is on record as saying the President's words were divisive.
“Yeah, I certainly disagree with what he said. I thought it was just divisive,” Brady said Monday morning during a radio interview with WEEI in Boston. “Like I said, I just want to support my teammates.”
a) it's done on your own time - how many of our employers would be OK with protests at work? Do you think there would be consequences?
b) people have a clue what you're protesting - I still have no idea what any current NFL player is attempting to accomplish by kneeling, staying in the locker room, locking arms, etc.
Disrespecting the national anthem will cause at least some people to tune out, period, and is not beneficial for growing or maintaining viewership for the NFL. At some point, the NFL will have to step in and stop the bleeding. Sporting events should be an apolitical escape, not the torture it was to watch yesterday with every pre and post game interview, summary, etc. focused on politics.
At least Kaep backed it up and was donating to and spending time promoting causes outside of his kneeling for the anthem. I can't say the same for most this past weekend.

This event reminds me of the Occupy Wall Street Protests of about 5 years ago. Well organized and highly publicized, nobody really knew what the protesters were rallying against...including the protesters.
The NFL kneelers seem to be against Trump, racism and exhibit a general hatred of cops. Early on, Snowflake Colin stated some objections to Hillary as well.
As they cannibalize the sport that made them wealthy, they should at least hire a good PR firm and focus their grievances.
^^^ naw, but then I don't live near enough to any professional stadium to get taxed. If I did, however, I would be vote against such a tax and would be vocal about it. I regularly vote against new taxes/bonds anyway, though. They always end up costing far more than than we were promised.
Further, I find it repugnant when an owner (or ownership group) tries to hold a city hostage when they're asking for public money to build a new stadium. I'm sure San Diego misses their Chargers, but imo the voters did the right thing for the city by telling the Spanos family to kick rocks.

I don't really mind the cable hit as folks can choose to accept or decline the service. Not an option for residents in Glendale Arizona where property taxes doubled to keep the NHL team and NFL stadium afloat.
It begs the question , are the NFL owners still getting paid to be patriotic? If so then by supporting players who kneel they should refund some money. Or did the checks stop coming ?

I agree with Mark (Justcommeman) no one is going to change the others mind here. Everyone knows my feeling on this so I won't state them again here. I have never said they don't have the right to protest......it's just how they are going about it that is wrong.

I know what they're protesting, but I've never heard anyone talk about it; people just talk about kneeling. And the thing is, there really isn't anything else to talk about. Police are more likely to shoot white suspects than black ones, and black officers are more likely than white officers to shoot black suspects. There is no evidence of any racist component to policing, and because of that a "conversation" serves no purpose. From every news segment/interview I've seen, if you aren't willing to disclaim the known facts about race and policing and accept the fantasy that cops have declared war on "black lives" then you're a racist and your voice will not be heard. I mean, I have the right to do handstands while barking like a seal at work to protest the fact that unicorns are sending subliminal messages through my dental fillings, but I really wouldn't expect anyone to sit down and have a conversation with me about it. I'd expect to have people talk about my barking handstands and, because I'm not a privileged millionaire like the kneelers, to be fired. That about sums up the situation for me and everyone the kneelers pretend they're trying to educate. This farce will end when it ends, the NFL brand will be damaged more and more the longer this farce persists, and then another moral preener will find another way to bring attention to himself and we'll talk about him. But the notion that millionaires kneeling during the national anthem will change anything is so comical I just have to laugh; anyone whose sense of humor isn't impaired is surely laughing at that, too.
