What if they let the Dealers buy first with unlimited quantities and Mike with HSN will buy them all up! Sort of like how the dealers got in line first at the Denver show or so I am told. I sure hope I don't have to buy mine from HSN I hear his prices are double. I can see him on TV selling them at a cool $1000.00. With some special limited quantity label. With the Black Eagle Label!!!!! At least ANACS is a Oldie but Goodie! But I think I would rather have a PCGS or a NGC one.
I reported the pre sale...more than the 30 days in advance that eBay allows for pre sale items. Looks like the seller got the word...listing has ended.

The 12.5K was based on statements made by the mint during the introduction of the 225th anniversary. The mint stated they would double the number of medals struck over 2016. That's 50K medals, at 4/set is 12.5K sets.
Now, that was a year ago. since then they put a ridiculously high mintage on the gold AmLib, and an unlimited mintage on the silver stand-alone medal, and I fully expect the same for the four-coin set.
Thanks for the update Backroadjunkie- I'll be in for one! I bet this will still be gone in under 15 minutes...mentally preparing for a wild ride...limit coffee.
I like the look of them, but I think I'm going to wait for a couple of years and try to buy it more cheaply. 50,000 seems a lot given the limited number of collectors in the audience for this one. I could be wrong, but seems too pricey to take a flier. I mean, they've only sold 44,000 of the medals to date at $60. I suppose $50 each is better than $60 for one (LOL), but still seems like a long term loser.
Mintage Limit: 50,000

This might suck me in for one.... Gonna make me itch to pay $50/ozt for a medal...

NO! FIrst off it's 145. Secondly the wholesale price is WAY less than 120, and will be even less with another 50k coins on the market. I would say the math would be:
145-85=60. So I don't want the other coins for a net of 60 at all...

I have a bunch (for me) so the set doesn't interest me but I bet I still buy one

Those members poopoohing the Liberty set ,while holding dead money in sets still waiting for sellout 7 weeks after issue ..
If you look at the description of the earlier sliver medal for 2017, it was minted in Philly as a silver proof. This type of coin is different from the 4 coin medal set description. For example, the Silver proof medal is minted in San Francisco, not Philly.

I'm all for the flip. I might buy 4 and flip them myself. All I said, and I stand by it: flip it fast, it won't hold the price.
And I'm not hanging on to a losing trade. I continue to make money on every sale of coins from the EU sets. It just wasn't a quick flip. In fact, I could have sold out, but I think they'll sell for more next year.

kind of risky for the seller. Suppose it sells out in 2 minutes and he has to buy one on the open market.
