Not the smartest time to end a listing...particularly one that isn't unique
Last week, when they dropped it to $32.95, Grote and BestDay called it evidence of a price slide. So, gentlemen, to be consistent you should probably call this evidence of a price surge.

Oh, I don't think that's the right price. The market price continues UNCHANGED since release at $32 to $37. But SOME PEOPLE try to take every is data point and make a trend out of it to prove their point. I'm the one who posted the MCM Pryce change to $32.95 and they jumped on that to prove the "inevitable slide". That is trying to hard to prove a point.
I'm the one who posted the MCM Pryce change to $32.95 and they jumped on that to prove the "inevitable slide".
..and they sold around 50 at that price so it was valid...zero at the present price. We will see....
That represents ZERO change from the Mint price of $29.95
They are NOT the only seller. Sale prices last week ranged from $32.95 to $37 - as they have for months. If I list one at $10 right now and sell it, that does NOT make the market price $10. You need to look at ALL the data, not just the ones that prove your thesis. (Science 101).
Any remotely objective evaluation of the data going back to August 3rd shows fundamentally ZERO change in the price of raw sets. NO argument can be made for either an increase or a decrease unless you cherry pick your data points which is what has been happening by SOME on this thread.

Not at all. But random bad auction results aren't the market. Look at the $37 sets as well. The fact is that the prices have simply NOT MOVED since August 3rd. As much as you hate that.
The BIN number on eBay is still $33 to $37.75 (ignoring MCM's $49) as it HAS BEEN SINCE AUGUST 3RD.
There is simply no drift down and no drift up.
You could, by the way, use statistical methods to exclude the $28 auction. I'm not even telling you to do that. I'm telling you to note the $28 auction last week AND IN SEPTEMBER, but track all of the prices which show no change in months for the raw sets.

Local dealers are selling them at $34 over the counter and making $4 per set.
The eBay incremental cost structure is a bit separate from the "market price". These sets are NOT profitable on eBay at less than $36 per set. They ARE profitable out of a store at $31 and profitable on a privately hosted web site at $33. [And NOT profitable at Heritage at less than $40. LOL.] But profitability is not market price because it depends on purchase price as well as individual cost structure for the sale.

Take a business course. That's only true if that is the ONLY item they sell. Incremental sales at a store do NOT increase store costs much as the costs are mostly fixed. Incremental sales on eBay DO increase costs because the costs are mostly NOT fixed but incremental. That was the point.
I say - "The price of EU sets have not moved in 3-1/2 months"
You say - "Pump"
Do you see the complete nonsense inherent in that response? How is "the price has not moved" translate as pumping?
Look on eBay. Prices have been between $33 and $37 since August 3rd except for the occasional auction in the $28-$30 range. That's been happening SINCE AUGUST 3RD. The price of raw sets has simply not moved AT ALL.
I fail to see why that conclusion is not obvious from a cursory view of completed sales on eBay. I also fail to see why such a conclusion seems like such a threat to you.
At the risk of incurring the wrath of the Crusty Cohort, has anyone been tracking the price of these among the big boys? I only really watch eBay because that's where I'm selling so I see people like Clark and MCM and APMex, but I haven't been following them too closely. It does seem to me, however, that the big boys have all raised their prices this week. Positioning for the Holidays, or do they know something?
Chant all you want. It's just evidence that you don't have a point to make. I asked a legitimate question. I provided legitimate facts. I have no need or interest to "pump" this set, especially on this board of all places. But, go ahead toss your little epithets.

The point is that we've seen the likes of you before around here! Pump, blah, blah, blah. Repeat over and over again. Then the issue fades into oblivion and people lose their money. Luckily this issue is a cheap $30 set but when they fall to $20 next year you have lost 50% of your investment!! You might be the most prolific poster ever on one of these issues!! I think FLBuffalohunter was a close second before fading into oblivion, never to be seen again. Do you really think your constant posting to this thread doesn't raise some red flags?????

Have I EVER tried to get anyone to buy one of these sets?
If you read all my posts rather than clinging to your confirmation bias, you'll note that I've counseled AGAINST buying slabbed sets. I've referred to half the coins in this set as dogs. I've suggested a LONG TERM PRICE POINT of $45. $45. LONG TERM. That would make this the worst pump ever.
My expectations were and are modest for this set. Please, put me on ignore.
And a $30 set falling to $20 is 1/3 of your investment not 50%.
You feared they were going to keep going lower and so you wanted out asap?
You overextended on what you were willing to have out there, financially?
