The Enhanced uncirculated sets are back on sale as I guess more returns were processed. I expect they will keep switching from for sale to unavailable over the course of the next week or two as returns get processed and then bought. The point is that they have sold pretty well. The mint may still be kicking themselves for limiting dealer sales at the ANA or they may see this as an olive branch to all those that complained about the quick sellout. Either way, I think its good that the dealer that canceled an order for 20000 units does not have to dump these on the open market. Just my 2 cents.

You made me look! Yep, back on sale 8/13...but probably not for long. Are these available due to damaged returns, huge canceled orders, or maybe just a few credit card rejections? Or all of the above? If you buy one now, do you risk getting an imperfect set that someone else sent back? The mint should have a discount price for damages.
I'm just surprised how many sets seem to be broken apart and separated for single coins. Aren't these sets more valuable as a complete set? 225,000 mintage seems very low to begin with.

I bought another box of 38 this morning. I have 153 on hand. I believe this issue will have legs.

There are more Lincoln cent collectors than collectors of a one-off, low-mintage special set. Ditto for Kennedy halves, and likely also for many of the remaining coins in the set. Hence the high breakup rate.
As I said in an earlier post, we have three likely sources of demand for this set, which is one reason I think today's price is a good value.
Proof/mint set collectors is one source. Annual proof set sales total around 600,000 (plus additional quarter sets and silver proof sets). Annual mint set sales total 300,000+. This is almost entirely collector demand, as these sets are not considered suitable for flipping. Many proof/mint set collectors will want this set also, since it is attractive, low mintage, reasonably priced, and contains the same coin types as proof and mint sets. I would guess that demand from this group will total 100,000 sets or more.
Collectors of various series will want individual coins from this set, several of which are lowest-mintage keys for their respective series. This will lead to the breakup of many sets. I expect the cent and the half will be the most desired individual coins. Total demand from this group could likewise be well north of 100,000 coins.
Finally there are speculators/investors who will be putting away multiple sets for the long term, at least several years. They have more patience than flippers, and many have been rewarded in the past by socking away coins such as the 1995-W proof silver eagle and the 1997-W unc. Jackie Robinson $5 gold. Demand from this group could also easily exceed 100K sets (that's only $3 million worth at issue price).
I don't see any way that likely demand from these three groups can be satisfied by the maximum 225,000 sets available. Hence I believe that this set is a good value at the mint's issue price.
Thanks Overdate! That's a really good assessment. I'm not sure which group I'd fall into...there are so many different ways to collect and be complete at the same time. You're absolutely right, demand will exceed available sets and these coins will be scarce.
I'm tempted to pick up another....?
My concern is, are they actual 'returned sets' or set(s) that never left the fulfillment facility due to canceled orders.
Also, with the option of breaking up sets for individual coins, I will keep in OGP. Looks , at least to me, that the EU sets will be broken up in great quantities.
If they are still on sale Wed, 8/16 I'm in for one more....

I'd buy 38 if I were worried about that... if there are "original" sets around, they'll send you a SF sealed box of 38. If they send you singles, you'll know they're rejects...

Anyone know what this is supposed to be? Is it the medal set?
That's what I assume it is, since the medals are dual dated, but they removed the "225th" from the title on the website.
It's probably not the palladium coin, since that will be bullion only this year.
Maybe we're still in line for the silver reverse proof set...
just the cent alone in a pcgs holder graded as SP-70 could go for as much as 100 dollars in a few years

I hear you. I broke down and got 5 Sets myself just because the '17 EU -S Lincoln beats the '09 VDB-S as far as mintage. Now I haven't even a tiny desire for the VDB-S. A cheap way to get off the hook.
Sometime you got to wonder about fellow coin nuts. I got 5 sets and have money left over compared to what some are tossing away on just one set. Sometimes it makes you question just how real things are in this "fake news" era.

I'm a big believer in the coins in this set, but I doubt there will be much SP-70 premium in coming years. The percentage of 70s is going to be too high. IMHO

Here are some of the rules to get your set graded by PCGS, it looks expensive.
2017-S 10 Coin Denver ANA Set Enhanced Uncirculated PCGS SP 70 * FIRST STRIKE
To continue the celebration of the 225th Anniversary of the United States Mint, PCGS will be offering special labels for the 2017 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set to all PCGS Collector Club members and Authorized Dealers at the 2017 Denver ANA. Rules and restrictions apply.
Follow these instructions.
Submission Instructions
→All coins must be from the 2017 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set
→Valid for Standard service (Secure not available)
→One special label per submission form
→Not available in conjunction with any other submission, special or label (i.e. First Strike Flag, other PCGS Special Labels)
→Pricing is as follows; •$35 per coin, includes grading and special label fees.
•5-coin minimum to receive special show pricing.
→For the 2017 Denver ANA label, under the "Other" line in the service level section of the submission form, indicate "Label #336.” Grading and First Strike/Special Label fee included.
Additional Guidelines
→Standard Handling fee applies, return shipping fee and a $2 per order transport fee will be added for on-site orders not picked-up at the 2017 Denver ANA.
→2017 Denver ANA special labels will be available for office service level submissions only if coins are received by PCGS at the 2017 Denver ANA.
→$18 per coin special label and First Strike fee will be in addition to the grading fee associated with the chosen office service level.
→PCGS Flag First Strike Label also available, indicate “Label #2” - $18 per coin (grading fee not included).
You must be a PCGS Collectors Club member or PCGS Authorized Dealer to submit directly to PCGS. To join the PCGS Collectors Club click here.
For any other questions, please contact PCGS Customer Service Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 5:00PM PST at 1-800-447-8848.
So to sum it up; 10 coins @ $35 each = $350 + First Strike @$18 each = $180 Total = $530 in grading fees for a full 10 coin set with no guarantee of 10 SP70's. Not counting any shipping there and back or handling fees. About right?
I was not sure if the First Strike was only $18.00 per coin vs the Denver ANA designation at $35.00 each. That would be a PCGS question but its going to cost big bucks and the grading companies are raking in the cash!
First Strike is a separate charge from grading. By the standard 2017 submission form, not Denver show prices, Regular Service is $32 a coin, Economy is $20 and Modern is $16.
So a submission today, with First Strike, could be as low as 10 x $16 = 160 + 10 x $18 = 180 Total = $340
They do package them terribly. That said, there have been a lot of complaints about coin damage and holder residue which are just optical illusions.
Huh. Optical illusions.
Yes, people interpreting the cent contact with the plastic as a "nick on the cent". Or, just recently, people interpreting the clear plastic contacting the black plastic as an oil spot. I'm sure there are others, people interpreting reflections as scratches, etc.
This drives me crazy. The mint does have quality issues, but I think many complaints are due to things like this.

Yup...bulk dealer has options not available to Joe Normal. The number is real
That doesn't work as it drops the total to 100, so what I was looking for was for the specific steps he/she takes to show that number......
