Today was the first time in months there was something in the return. Unfortunately it was junk. A game token and a beat up 2 Euro cents (I think). I left it there.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
@Lulo90.... Welcome aboard.... That is a nice find...and if that gold coin is real, a fantastic find.... Can you show both sides in a post? Cheers, RickO
Had to drop somebody off at the bus stop at 9 AM and stopped at a Safeway on the way home and figured what the heck I'll go look. 36 cents US (the dime is a little rough so I can see why it might reject, but the Illinois quarter is absolutely perfect!), 1.2 Pounds and 1.2 Euro plus 9 misc. foreign. I wonder if late night users are more likely to be in a hurry and not check the reject bin?

Kind of looks like contemporary military change - UAE, Bosnia, Britain.

I was checking out at the local market... lane was close to the Coinstar.... heard lots of coins hitting the reject bin, but the individual kept scooping them out... final scoop he put in his pocket... Oh well.... win some, lose some and the others get rained out.... Cheers, RickO
The silver dime was peaking out from under the front of the machine, the quarter was behind it. The second dime was in another reject slot in another store today.

Once again...finding a gold coin (even a tenth ounce gold coin) in a coinstar reject bin, would be an incredible rush....Just makes me all the more convinced to check those slots. Cheers, RickO
$4.26 including a 1964 silver quarter, A quarter, nickel and cent were even on the floor in front of the machine. First time that has ever happened for me.

Indpendence Day a celebration of Independence with some ruff roads ahead of them in 1776 to keep it pristine and of course FREE.
I thank you for this and we will push on. See somthing say somthing.
You guys are doing great... I have been in another long drought.....Seems the counter clerks are getting the goodies as soon as they are left by the coin changers. Cheers, RickO

2 cents yesterday.
Jackpot this morning at my corner grocery. $1.76 US including a 1953 quarter and a 2015 Bahamas quarter. First good find in a long time.

Silver is good... and a nice haul overall.... Cheers, RickO
Lots of little finds for me, nothing too exciting beyond several bucks worth of Canadian change.
$1.03 in various denominations, no silver.

Another drought period here....too much work, getting in the way of my coinstar time.... Cheers, RickO
6 silver dimes, a 1946, a 1964-D, 2 1992-S silver, 2 2000-S silver, a normal zincoln and three Canadians. Proof silver in the wild is awesome.
Congratulations... that is a great haul... silver is always welcome.... Cheers, RickO

What year is that wheat cent? And is that a blank planchet?
Hmm... a Krugerrand?

I am aware of ONLY one coinstar machine where I live. An I never found anything in the reject bin

I looked quickly and thought it was a tenth oz. gold Krug. That would be a crazy find!

Third day of finding silver, these were rejected by the coin machine at my credit union and deposited with the teller just a bit before I got there:
@SaorAlba Did the teller hold them for you??? Bring that teller some candy....Cheers, RickO
Gold coin?
In the middle.
Not as good as silver but I did find a 1937 wheat and 11 modern cents.
So, a gold filled coin? since its only 1/10th?
1/10 of an ounce net weight. Worth about $125.
The pictured krugerrand has 1/10th of a troy ounce of gold.
Gold, precious metal, chemical symbol Au.
Krugerrand's are a South African gold coin.
Edit to add: And your a good neighbor to give your neighbor gold.
I am assuming it’s real and not a counterfeit/fake coin/token.

Wonder where @Lulo90 went?
Maybe to let the neighbor know. Hope the neighbor did their due diligence. Internet searches are still free.
oh wow!
my neighbor must be thrilled,
only about 14 years old.
Would of never though!
Thank you!
And yes, he must be happy!
i knew he liked coins, so i just handed them over.
Next time
One 1964 silver dime, 68 cents in modern US and four assorted euro cents yesterday, biggest find in months.
Silver is always welcome..... usually it is all the rest... cents/euros etc.....Cheers, RickO
Yesterday at the Coinstar - modern half cent? (A full size cent added for scale).
What’s up with this? Any ideas why this cent was cut down?
witty quote goes here
The penny has been ground down to pass as a dime in a vending machine.
Here is a similar coin found in 2015:
US 1946-S cent altered to size of US dime
Diameter 19 mm, weight 2.67 gm
The Mysterious Egyptian Magic Coin
Coins in Movies
Coins on Television
No coinstar finds now for about a month.... really discouraging.... Cheers, RickO
That was my first thought, but it’s quite a bit smaller than a dime.
witty quote goes here
Not a mint error. Go buy something in a vending machine to see if it works.
Two crusty zincolns and a ten yen. Oh well the hunt continues!
