I think will go higher. Still have another though. Had to consider the ease of deal w no Feebay B.S, problem buyers, etc.

Raufus you got a top price. Just got off the phone with MCM and right now they are offering $1850 for a sealed box. Still not bad on a quick flip.

reading the thread, I'm surprised at the extent of play / flip on this coin.

    Congrats to all. Hmbld.

Oh well. Hope there is another coin like this in the next 36 months.

look like the average on eBay right now is around $2100. Hope I can double my money cause my wife needs expense Christmas gift, can't afford without selling some coins.
  • jerseyralphjerseyralph Posts: 123 ✭✭✭
I sold my only coin today on Ebay - $2050. I wanted to buy two of them but chickened out. However, I am not greedy. It is interesting that the demand for this platinum coin is like the old days. Only can only hope platinum coin collecting will have an uptick.

Only time will tell whether platinum is king.

The key of this year is low mintage and no bullion. Probably a lot of true platinum collectors unable to purchase it. But the question is how high can it goes before they say screw it and move on to the new products next year.

FYI, The mint raise price up to $1250 now, if there is any available. Hihihi
  • MilesWaitsMilesWaits Posts: 5,338 ✭✭✭✭✭
$1250 would be the price first offered on the BST by a high volume & rarely posting member.

My, how things have changed as loyal & reliable BST buyers are scrambling to avoid paying even higher prices.
Now riding the swell in PM's and surf.

If you really think about past years when the metal spot was height $2200 really isn't that high. This should really be a $2500 coin

I have to admit I was on the fence about his issue until just a few minutes before they went on sale, and almost had buyers remorse since I thought it would become it was going to become one of those dud issues from the mint.

That ended about 5 minutes after I bought it. Now I wish I had my friend buy a second for me.

This thread got very quiet all of the sudden. Looks like they've maxed out at about $2175 sealed. It seems likely that they will start to come down a bit. Will b interesting to how the graded ones do when they hit in greater numbers.

They all went out with upgraded shipping, so they must be in everyone's hands by now. How many went out to get slabbed?

I had mine for all of 30 minutes before it went out the door to ATS. (I had a coupon that expires... tomorrow! It'll get entombed on the cheap.)

Left my hands Tuesday afternoon, arrived Sarasota Friday night, with attempted delivery Saturday. Fastest I've ever seen a registered package go. 'Course, they were closed, but still... Did the USPS step it up a notch for Xmas deliveries?

So, they should receive it today, then check it in today or tomorrow. Then I play the wait for a grade thing. image

I expect we'll see a lot of graded coins by the end of the week. With a smaller supply, I think we'll really know if PM8 is a boon or a bust by the middle of next month.

I sold one sealed for $2000 to a large dealer. Shipped it out a few hours after receipt.
The other looked fantastic. Should arrive at our host today. Really hoping for a 70. Looks super clean.

Raufus, I took some pictures of my coins yesterday. The pictures look fabulous, but I can't post them here because of the changes in the software.

I found that I began scrutinizing the coins so closely that I've lost all perspective about what would qualify as a 70. When you are looking at near-perfect coins, the tiniest flaws under 10X start to look like the Grand Canyon, lol.

I hear u and can totally relate. I stick to a 4x. Its easy indeed to loose perspective as u note. Will be very interesting to see how the pops pan out. From early reports and my own coin quality looks to be high on these.

There probably isn't a cut-off. All sold in 7 minutes and were delivered within 7 days right?

Indeed re 8 min sell out. I'm just trying to find out what date PCGS has set for the FS cutt off. I can't find it on the site. I'll call them tomorrow. There is always a cutt off. It's 30 days from the date of delivery of the first coins received.

A number of recent sales between $2,081 and $2,150 as well on ebay. Those sellers are netting LESS than I am currently buying them for on the BST board. And, I would personally never sell a sealed box of anything of this type of value on a site where if a buyer claims his box had no coin in it, I likely lose every time. But, that is just me,

Goldbully... I believe the reported pops on this coin are not going to accurately reflect the "grade through rate" on these coins as a result of some dealer(s) electing to not slab the 69's but simply pay the grading fee and get those returned in capsules. I believe that if those coins were taken into account, there would be more 69's than 70's to be sure. Perhaps significantly more. As always, just my two cents.
