Got it pretty fast - initial hang up but then in and ordered w/no prob. Same for my Dad. About 2 minutes between orders. Mine 03803xxx Dad's about 3000 higher order number. Of course, with the pucks who knows how many were plats?
I think i got 2 but i know for sure 1. I had the 2nd one in cart and hit the confirm button where it process the order and the page crashed. I have not got an email on either one yet so I am hoping the 2nd on went threw.

It will be fun to watch the feebay presales now. Of course, that's generally a loosing game for the seller. If the prices go up from the time of sale the seller is, of course, expected to honor it. If the price drops even the smallest bit the buyer will likely back out. Will be fun to watch nonetheless. I also wonder whether like several past issues if these are immediately ready to ship and will possibly be on the way in a day or so. Curious, did anyone order expedited shipping? I'm kicking myself for forgetting to do so.
I clicked to do next day shipping but in the fiasco of entering in my info, twice, since it crashed on me once, I didn't, so now I have the slow boat method. Oh well. I just plan on flipping it anyways so any profit is profit.

I think they sold out the batch that they had on hand and ready to ship. They will produce the rest to bring it up to the 4,000 limit and make those available shortly. Only my guess...

Just checked the Mint's site and it doesn't show any produced yet. Maybe today?

The widest spread in order numbers I've seen has been 4,400 orders. The wildcard is the Saratoga 5oz puck went on sale at the same time, so those orders are mixed in.
If I had to guess, they're sold out. If the mint usually has 25K of a larger release premade for immediate shipping, 4K is a drop in the bucket...
They probably struck as many blanks as they had, so it is a question of how many blanks they received. I can't believe they took 5000 orders for this coin though in 5 minutes.

Yes, of course. It's a precious metal product so it automaticaly gets kicked up to a signature required shipment method, and shipping fee is waved because of the holiday special.
Just checked my order, and it's coming by UPS ground, so I'll get it in about two days after they ship...

Very cool. Didn't catch that in my rush to order.
Needless to say, the key is are they sold out or making more?? That is the question.
I'd guess sold out as it's only 4K and they sold more than that last year. Of course, only a total guess. Certainly feeling good about these though - far better than I was yesterday.
I'm not too impressed with the Design and I'm especially not impressed with the premium over spot. Buying into a falling market isn't really my thing either.
BUT.... the limited mintage number was sort of nice. If spot falls to $480 / oz , the limited mintage will probably leave the faithful with at least a $900 Coin !
ROFLMAO !
I just happened to accidently hit the " Place Order" button early enough, my Coin ( hopefully ) will soon be riding the slow truck to my PO BOX .

XXXXXX Hey there United States Mint, can you confirm whether or not today's 2015 Platinum American Eagle (PM8) has in-fact SOLD OUT?
United States Mint Hi Anthony, yes the American Eagle 2015 Platinum Proof Coins are sold out.
XXXXXX United States Mint - thank-you. Next question, did you in-fact mint all 4,000 units?
United States Mint Yes, all of the coins have been minted.
In eBay sold listings there are already over 35 sales from $1,495 to $1,795. Plenty of flippers having their way with this one. I am guessing a few early PR70's will be $3,000+.

Wow, would that be FANTASTIC!!!
If true and not written by a rep who does not understand sold out vs. unavailable due to only a partial initial run being sold out I agree with Op Butler that this will be very cheap.
I think that in '08 (?) the initial run sold out very fast but then more followed.
I am very encouraged by the Facebook post. I'll be more encouraged once the item simply says Sold Out. Still - feelin' very good about this one so far :-)
Curious: how many of you all are grading vs flipping sealed/raw?
I haven't bought any Platinum since 2008 and was seriously considering this one, but I guess the early sell out seals my fate.
I'm happy that I'm not collecting these because I'd be livid at having to buy it within 5 minutes of release in order to get one at a 'reasonable' price.

I am really surprised it this is the real sell out given how under the radar Plats are.
Me too. I was originally going to wait to see how fast they were selling. Glad I just ordered at noon.
(My postal guy showed up with a package at 11:58, got back to my computer with 10 seconds to spare! )
I did not get all the ones I wanted to buy.
