Jim - Happy, yes. A couple of the other results were confounding. Too bad our hosts don't provide some explanation for their results. It'd be worth an extra fee. (That ought to get somebody's attention).

Vern l It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got.
I'm in New Orleans on business for a few days. I parked in a garage today that only took cash; my change was $.50- paid in dimes. Being in New Orleans I got excited about finding a Barber with an "O" on the back. No such luck- I guess someone already cleaned them out......
I'm hoping to have a chance to visit the Old Mint tomorrow morning before flying home tomorrow afternoon. This time I brought a better camera!

Would it be worth a shot to speak with the curator to get the sets out off of display for improved close-ups? At least for that '97-O half for goodness sake!

Newp. Previous owner thought Choice BU or about a 63. Nice Lib Nickel 1905 with luster and shy of a c-note to boot. The three or four cheek marks are toning and not scratches FYI.

Here is another recent pick-up... an 1892-O Barber Dime. Take a look at the point of the bust in this picture. Seems it has something going on there, what do you think? ideas? Then look at the die crack on the reverse at about 4 o'clock.

Is anyone planning to attend the Long Beach show? I'll be making the trek down there this week. It'd be great to cross paths with some other Megathread regulars. I'll even have some of my spares in tow...
A few weeks back I submitted my recently purchased 1909 S Barber Half (in a MS 64 holder) to PCGS for variety attribution. It came back last week in it's new "Inverted Mintmark" holder:
Nobody saw the smaller 'o' so I picked this up very cheaply. I finally have my first '05 Micro-o dime! Got to start somewhere and I like doing that for only a few bucks out of pocket...

Here is one I still have. Minted 110 years before the Capitals won the Stanley Cup. (Sorry they had to go through Tampa, Jeff.)
Nice '08 S Half, Justin. A tough date.
Washington was the better team this year, but we're still proud of our Lightning! Here's a coin minted 110 years before the Lightning's last Stanley Cup win:
Time to play "Guess the Grade"!!!! It's in the grading room now....

Craig - Congrats on the 97-S newp. Such a tough coin.
Tim - Nice micro-O cherry.
Justin - Very glad to see the Great 8 hoist the cup. He's always been my choice over Sid the Kid.
Jeff - Ah, the "Buhlin Wall". Hard to believe that was 14 years ago. Great strike on your '94 half, I'll guess 62 to 64 depending on the day of the week, the relative humidity, or the phase of the moon.

Justin @LogPotato ... you seem to have quality halves at the same grade level as Vern's '09-S. It makes me curious as to what your '09-S looks like? just wonderin'... don't mean to put you on the spot... anyone else?

Understanding their reasoning would be like always knowing what your spouse is thinking. Of course that would be worth the extra fee too !!
