No thanks. Passed on all three. Too many poor quality coins being shipped by the mint and poor quality

non 70's being passed off as 70's by the TPG's. Done buying anything for now.

Notice how ebay lisiting are mostly BINs... most still holding Gold Kennedys are buried from buying at much higher prices
Still ,the ANA Bus sitter dealers have not sold many of their Gold Kennedys
Only thing to rescue the Gold Kennedy is higher Gold spot prices .. watch those big dealers sell for a buy signal

FWIW, I picked up 5 singles from the Mint over about the last 1 1/4 hours.

Whelp, they sold 551 Units between 2:13 PM EST and 3:31 PM EST.

Most of the buyers probably from the Board, alone.

Word gets around and beyond the Board, the issue may sell out faster than we think.

That said, I am late to the Party on this and missed out entirely. From what I hear it was good I missed that experience.

I bought the first two just as I got the Coin World email, then I looked at the Board Posts, it really accelerated once the new thread appeared.

I also bought a First Strike PR70 DCAM on the Bay with all 'the fixins' for my kids to fight over when the Estate settles.

Casman will get to handle those details.

#1 or XXXXX443 was placed at 2:13 PM EST , so gauge Sales today starting there and you get a good idea of demand.

What is strange to me (I may have missed this) but back on Nov. 24th, Hattrick posted that they had planned 'a first batch at 75K'?

Was a Mint statement to that effect indeed out there before today?

Initially they said somewhere that they had 75,000 blanks to make coins and the ability to obtain more if needed. I thought at that
time they would be lucky if they could sell 75,000. Obviously they needed to try to pick up interest some way to get rid of the remaining coins.
I still think it will be a push to sell 75,000. Who knows, maybe some of the less informed will think they are getting a "limited edition"

Iirc, after the initial panic buys at the sales counters, the mint came out later and said they could do as many as 75k by the end of oct. or early nov.

It's a good looking coin and has sold better than many people here predicted, even me.

I'd love to own one of these to add to my gold commemorative collection, but even with limiting the mintage to 75K, I just can't see the potential for it appreciating in price significantly 4 or 5 years from now.

My guess is it moves up after the mint stops sales and stays firm afterward. Kind of like the Jefferson Liberty Spouse, I'd expect that we'll see sellers on eBay selling 69s smaller premiums to melt a few years out.
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!

Some how collectors does not like "unlimit" word, even thought the mint still can only sell limit amount as I noted ASE set average around 250k and gold around 50k.

Wow. Gold posted some pretty good numbers after the cap was lowered. Increase in clads due to being a cheap stocking stuffer? Silver remains somewhat constant...

Is 75,000 the Mintage limit or the Demand limit ?
The mint's strategy for creating a sellout: Lower maximum mintage to just above current sales totals.

    12/7/2014.....2014 KENNEDY ANNIVERSARY SILVER SET...178,455...5,821
    12/14/2014...2014 KENNEDY ANNIVERSARY SILVER SET...184,098...5,643
    12/21/2014...2014 KENNEDY ANNIVERSARY SILVER SET...188,147...4,049

The Kennedy Clad set is currently OOS. If it goes back on sale, it will sell out at 200K.
The Gold took a walk backward, probably for the same reason the BBHOF coins went back on sale. An audit of the sales, with returns and orders "on hold" canceled.
The silver set is still selling stronger than I suspected. Projected sell out in Feb/March?

Not going to update the silver thread...

It was 6 months first. Now it's this time next year.

I think prices may level off and climb some once the go off same and the amateur flippers finish eating their losses on ebay. Who know how long that will take but we have a forum member selling less than 70 raw for $999. Time will be required.

A lot of posters here have steadily criticized the Kennedy Gold. I for one believe it is an important collectible.
It should be viewed as at least as significant as the Martha Washington coin from the First Spouse series.

It is the first of its kind after all. imageimage

The 2015 UHR will not be a classic design, but an entirely new designed walking liberty.

I think the 2009 UHR will hold its own. I will probably pass on the 2015 gold UHR but will buy the silver version. The 2015 gold UHR is estimated to cost $1700. Because of the new design, even if it looks good, I am just not interested.

From your post 7/8 on Sept 8:

"I just call it idiotic or just plain stupidity.

You have to realize that the ebay market for these is not good right now. Sit back, relax, in 6 months you will be getting $1700-$1800 for the same coin.

But weak hands - are just that - weak hands. You shouldnt be in the game if you cant afford to hold."

Nope...just quoting you from September 8. But as it may, unless gold makes another run up to $2k, this coin will never hit $1800. Borrowing from one of your famous quotes from years past..."You can stick a fork in it."
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
