Sherman knocked the ball away but he ISN'T the one that intercepted it to seal the deal. If the ball isn't intercepted 49ers still have at least 2 more shots at the goal.
Did I want the Seahawks to win? Yes. Do I like Sherman's mouth? No. I was hoping for a New England matchup with them. I'll take Denver now. But Lynch will be the difference in the game.
<< <i>Doesnt sound at all like a "Thug" to me Barry. >>
Agreed. Based on my definition of a "thug", Sherman's life story up to this point would be the polar opposite.

"Hernandez will be hosting two events in the area on Friday to help put a spotlight on the lack of mental health professionals available to the Hispanic population in this country.
Fairly heady stuff for a football player who won’t turn 22 until November. But Hernandez didn’t hesitate when he was approached.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity since I’m Hispanic, and it’s just a great charity for me to be involved with because they’re geared toward training mental health specialists to work with the Hispanic population,’’ Hernandez said."
Because doing charity work automatically makes you a good guy.
Fitz, go away. You're a self admitted racist who thinks all Native Americans are savages who are predetermined to be alcoholics and spouse abusers, so your input here is not wanted. Get lost.
Your input and constant desire to create confrontation isn't wanted here either, Axtell. So how about you go annoy the people over at Sports Hoopla or another venue and keep it a secret between your personalities.
Crabtree is right, it was only one play. A really *big* play to decide which NFC team would be represented in the Super Bowl but other than that, yeah, just one play.
Come on Stown, we both know what it means when a cornerback is not involved in a lot of plays. Usually means the opposing team is more interested in staying away from him than challenging him.

Sherman is happy to be the focal point of this victorious behavior, but now they've set him straight about how it's still about the team. good for them. just bring your "A" game to Jersey. that's all we should care about.
Turns out that it seems it was Sherman, not Crabtree who tried to start the charity event fight:
"But a source who was at the Fitzgerald charity event—and who has no familial or professional relationship to Sherman or Crabtree—witnessed part of what happened and said it looked more like it was the other way around.
"The handshake part is legit," the source said, "but it was Sherman who tried to start the fight with Crabtree. I remember 'cause Sherman kept getting in his face and Crabtree was just laughing about it."
1985fan is being inconsistent regarding the terms "Redskins" and "thug".
It is shocking to see him so willingly use "thug" (which is viewed by many as racist) and apply the term to Sherman based upon what Sherman said during the post game interview and how he said it. His use of the term "thug" demeans and marginalizes an entire segment of society that has been marginalized and oppressed for centuries.

So to you 'thugs' can only be black? Is that what you're saying? I'm sorry you paint the two equal. Me, personally? I couldn't possibly care less about race but what I found appalling was the behavior. Behavior that I, personally, characterize as that of a 'thug'.
I would have called him a thug if he had been any nationality or race.

The term Redskin originated as a slur towards Native Americans in the country in which the sports team chose the name. The mascot of the team is a Native American. While the "intent" of the name may not be to denigrate Native Americans, the connection was still there and well known.

He graduated from Stanford with a 3.9 GPA.
He heads a charity that provides clothes and school supplies to disadvantaged children.
It might be prudent to assimilate all info prior to attaching the "thug" label.

You called an African-American a thug, thus showing how you like to use racial epithets on these very boards.
Please answer the question as to why you feel it's ok to use racial epithets in a civilized society.
