My sincerest condolences to his family, his posts were always fun to read and I could tell he had a true passion for this hobby.

Bear - you will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of meeting you, by all who laughed with you, and by all who are still inspired not only by your numismatic accomplishments, but your personality as well.

PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows. I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.
i only had the pleasure to read some of his last posts. The overwhelming love and respect for him was very evident on these boards. May he rest in peace.

I am sorry that he is gone. It's certainly not unexpected, but it is very sad nonetheless. We had a nice PM exchange about a month ago. He had returned to the forum, after an absent period, and I sent him my well wishes. Here was his reply (which bring a tear to my eyes to reread them):
"Robert, It is not that I am well, or stand even the slightest
chance of making it thru the first of the year. It is probably
a case of the candle burning brightest, just before it is
extinguished. However, It has been a good life and I am
content to face the future, however short that future may be.
Thank you for your concern and your kind words.
They have always been a comfort to me. God bless you. Regards, Abe"
He was a classy man to the very end. Rest in peace, my friend.
