Nice trend up in the last 12 hours on ebay. Now averaging about $650 a set. Is anyone drooling over the possiblilty of getting a 70 set back if you submit 5 sets.
If that story is accurate, and the 2011 bullion coin included with the set was definitely minted in San Francisco, then shouldn't the grading companies be using "2011 (S)" on the labels for this coin???? I believe they did so with the other 2011 bullion coins that came from S.F. monster boxes.

Sorry, that really didn't help much since your previous post wasn't clear on what information was "corrected"
I understand that the coins being struck in Denver wasn't accurate, but are you also saying that they also weren't struck in San Francisco?
Sorry, not going to read through 500+ comments in that article when most are just whining about not getting sets.

It seems I had a few 2008W Gold Buffalo sets "In Process - Backordered" for several months before the Mint said, "Not Available." I don't think they even said, "Sorry."
I asked a couple of questions on the PCGS Blog today about grading, labels, etc. I received the following reply from Jaime Hernandez, PCGS Modern Coin Expert:
"We should have more details by tomorrow and what labels we will be offering for these sets. Don Willis is having a meeting today specifically regarding these sets and he will try to give collectors the best options.
So, please check our website tomorrow or check back on this blog and I will try to post updates as soon as I know about them.
thanks, jaime"
So, keep an eye out for submission details from PCGS in the next day or so.

Well, I don't believe it but mine just went into "Your order request is in process" and that is with an order number of 3838XXXX. Still crossing my fingers but it seems that even those of us who ordered late have a shot.
Oh and btw I originally received my order confirmation from the mint on Thu, Oct 27, 2011 at 6:01 PM.
What I'm worried about is that after everyone flips their coins, the market will be set for a while. Those who wanted one got them. At that point demand will be way down and these coins prove to just be a bubble.
Bubble markets being full of exuberance and high volumes with a sharp drop off.

We are fully aware of the difficulties many of you encountered last week with the release of the American Eagle 25th Anniversary Set. We would like you to know that we have undertaken an aggressive review of how we brought the product to market so we can better serve all of our customers in the future. Dick Peterson, the Deputy Director of the United States Mint, has also directed that the bureau review all future product offerings to ensure that we apply to them the lessons we learned from the marketing of the American Eagle 25th Anniversary Set. One of the principal sources of frustration was our web and phone order-taking system. As many of you know, we are in the process of updating our order management system. Our current system is very outdated and we recognize that it does not serve our customers well. Accordingly, we recently selected a contractor that will develop and implement our new system–one that will be modern and comparable to other top-rated retail Web sites. Unfortunately, this transition will take some time; we are anticipating that the new system will be in place by fall 2012. Our aim is to work earnestly to ensure that the inconvenience and frustration that our regular customers may have encountered last week is mitigated in 2012 as we re-examine our product launch strategies and systems. We value our relationship with you and are committed to serving you professionally and responsively. You deserve no less! The United States Mint

I expect that the "bubble" will be a very "thick" bubble as was demonatrated by the 20th Anniversary Sets which to this day are still priced at 200% over purchase price with a mintage of 250,000 pieces.
The $600 price looks like it "might" be a good starting point since folks are listing and buying a totally "unseen" item. Once they become a reality, the prices will most assuradly change.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
If anyone has noticed, the Pucks have taken major hits in the past few months since the frenzy over them died down.
However, I don't think that this particular set will take much of a hit, but that depends on how frothy the frenzy becomes when they finally make it to the secondary market. If they go too high, they will get hit - just like every other hot new issue does.
