What I find interesting is that they took care of arguably the Big 3, Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon right out of the gate and with Glacier and Gettysburg now on sale I'm having difficulty thinking of future NPs with the same national appeal. I am no expert on the National Parks so I'm sure I will learn a great deal as this moves along.

    Oops, forgot Rushmore.

Can someone point out the link for tomorrow's sale?

    Thanks.

My understanding is that they are doing them in order of National Park/forest/etc. designation. Yellowstone was the first National Park technically, though Hot Springs was congressionally protected far before that, and given the NP nod later. I'm a little hazy on this, but Yellowstone was given a NP status because the area it was in was still a territory, while CA was a state, and therefore, it was decided that Yosemite should be a state park rather than federal at the beginning.

I received my HS puck last week and finally found some time to photograph it. I am loving the sand blast look.

I'm certainly in for one but the dropping silver prices have taken the "luster" off this release. At least for me anyway.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think these will be on the mint's bullion flex price list before the next release? image

    "Real" coin-nerds will buy regardless.

Yes, those HS Ppucks have really shown what crashing spot will do for resale.

I assume the 2014 Smoky Mountains coin will also do well. It is the most visited national park in the United States.

Question: Has the sale of the second Mint puck been announced in print in CW yet?

If not, we may not have the same initial sales glut on the Mint lines today as many potential buyers may still be in the dark.

Locked and loaded. On the HS, I got one and my wife got one. Hers had none of the things described and was perfect. Mine had the weak letters on obverse and the stringy line thing. Hope the dies are better on this one! GLTA!

Either the demand is not as great as before or I just got lucky for a change. Slow response, but got through on my first clicks of all buttons in the process.

i'm in, about 1500 between my first and last.

  • Well, the Mint accepted my order about 12:15 EDT as "back ordered" but that's what it said when I ordered the HS edition too, so I'm thinking I'll probably get this one too.
System was slow but not so bad as when I ordered the HS "coin".

Got mine.. way smoother than when the Hot Springs puck went on sale. Order: 374795xx...
  • goldbuffalogoldbuffalo Posts: 624 ✭✭✭
The 'good' thing about the silver price dropping is these were still $279. If spot was $50oz, these would have been over $300.

And now Robin has his too!

OK..this was actually scary...are we getting better at this game...or did the Mint possibly reinforce their systems?

Only a couple of crashes on line and the phone system is still slow...but MUCH better than last time!
