<< <i>Geez, just got home and started reading this thread, I was signed up with Fideltrade for an alert weeks ago and never received any message from them today. I am zero for two on alerts as APMEX never sent my alert either, but I sure get a lot of spam from APMEX since I signed up for their alert. I am getting concerned that if I get a set in 2 or 3 weeks the good flip money will be gone, and the conditon will be so poor I will not want to keep them as the APs have had plenty of time to cherrypick these to death. I think I will go to the local rehabilitation clinic and sign up for the pucks anonymous 12 step program. >>
Update- I finally did get an alert notification from Fidelitrade around 1630. A lady called and explained that when they took my information 2 weeks ago, they forgot to get my email, so they called to inform me. I asked if there would be any preference for people who were on the alert list vs people who sent in the form without being on the list. She said no, it would be by order of mail received. She was not sure how many sets they were selling. I assume the USPS, UPS and FEDex deliveries all arrive at a different times. UPS is guaranteed to be there by 1030 (unless it snows).
Talked to APMEX this afternoon. I was calling to get a P.O. for some items I'm shipping to them.
The buyer said they are trying to get things organized and plan to have them on sale again soon. He also said they have averaged 7,500 calls/day with hockey puck inquiries!
<< <i>I forgot about the snow, and it says there is supposed to be snow tomorrow! I sent mine UPS, how did others send theirs? >>
FedEx Priority Overnight - delivers between 08:30 and 10:00. This is how I sent mine.
FedEx First Overnight delivers between 06:30 and 10:30 I'm told BUT if there is no one to sign they come back at 10:30 or possibly later.
USPS Express Mail generally (per our USPS counter reps) delivers before noon if sent by 14:00 or by 15:00 is sent later.
Don't know about UPS.
It seems that FedEx Priority Overnight should beat most USPS Express mail but not risk getting there before someone is present to sign for it.
Remember that all of them guarantee a delivery time. Track your letters. If they are late (even by a minute) the small consolation prize is a full refund of charges.

<< <i>Just curious Raufus, how many do you plan on getting? >>
Ideally two, which was my original APMEX order. One to pass (not that I'm ready to kick the bucket just yet, hopefully) to each child.
I have absoluetly NO conficence that I'll ever see anything from MTB (no email, no order number, no nothing) so I did not want to chance it (not that I'll ever see anything from Ftrade either).
Edited to add: That is two decent sets. If Ftrade comes through and they're totally beat up (which I think is likely) I'll try again if the opportunity arises.
It may be (as I said many posts ago) that APMEX is the only AP who handles them properly.

Amen to that!
I didn't mean that to imply that they are shady (like Prudential) only that they will likely get more than 3700 forms/checks tomorrow so it will be a lottery.

That is what I thought .... which makes the dudes bidding over $3500 for the"any grade " PCGS FS slabs kinda dumb since anyone can get that label on any set at any time (assuming you can GET a set at all)
They could be MS 60 for all they know and I am sure only the lower grades would will be given to the "winning" bidder
"Today is the cut off day for first strike - is PCGS extending the first strike label?? Since all the bs from AP and Mint"
I wonder.... maybe this is another reason why the AP's may have drug their feet on selling to the general public. Only the privileged early owners may have been able to send in for first strike or early release labeling. By holding back selling to the general public, there will be many less with those labels on them since it is now too late. A neat way to manipulate the market so only a few have the early release, etc? More big bucks for the preferred customers?
