EXACTLY! Why not help other collectors stay nearer to the front of the line (or as close as they can get) rather than all the "other" folks I saw at MTB on Monday getting them.

SOOOOOOoooo how would our group find out about stuff unless we all shared our info???

That's what we're here for...at least it's my reason anyway.

I was going to post the info but was beaten to the punch....(I was on the road when it arrived on my phone)

I agree that these will crash hard when the flood hits Ebay. Miles did soooo well. $3800 for a "sealed" box!

Thanks for posting the FelidiTrade Form. I never got their email. Maybe they are watching these forums and decided to stop sending them out.

I was on their original list they took several weeks ago. My guess is that they will be flooded and did not take this into account. Maybe they will go by their original list or email everyone that did not make it in time and state that your check will be destroyed. I can't see them sending all these checks back.

They probably won't even open them since Express is del'd later in the afternoon!! I'd hate to be their mailman for the next week or so!!

This might make sealed packages from some APs worth more than others based on how well each AP is known to package the coins.

    MTB Update:

I just spoke with someone at MTB (didn't give his name) but he knew mine as he processed my set.

He said that some of them are not sending emails but I've "....gotta trust me you'll have a set on the way, I processed your order." That's the deal. In MTB I trust - yikes.

That condition statement worries me, they will probably handle them without gloves and mail them in a bag... I would have mailed my check an hour ago if it wasn't for that. Is anybody else going to wait because of that?

I got some kind of order number, but won't be getting the e-mail conf.

I suggested they send out the order from 9-9:30 first, then 9:30-10 next... but who knows if this actually makes it to anyone in shipping.

$170 over spot. I'll take my chances. I really doubt I will get one anyway. It will be like a lottery.

    I called FideliTrade and asked:

    1. What are the chances I'll get a set if you receive my check tomorrow?
    A. No way to know.

    2. Will you be processing the checks you receive tomorrow in the order received?
    A. Not really. Its going into a stack (or a pile) to "deal with on Monday". Dont quite remember if she
said "stack" which implies an orderly process or the randomness of a "pile". My impression was randomness.

    3. What happens to my check if I dont get a set?
    A. We'll mail it back to you.

Well there you have it. The great ATB lottery continues.

Just dragged my wife out of a meeting to sign HER chack and then bolted across to the Main US Post Office in Manhattan to ship two envelopes overnight to Wilmington.

Yes...yes...I know...one per HH...but I figure if this turns into a lottery, I want two potential tickets in the barrel!

And get this....for a split second...just a second...I thought about jumping onto the Acela (I work over Penn Station) down to Wilmington myself!

    How sick is that?

Wow, if they just go into a pile for Monday, no point in going to DE.

The form says they will on a best effort basis process them in the order received, or something similarly vague that would just allow them to be thrown into a pile and be processed that way.
  • Contacted FideliTrade and suggested that the people handling these coins will use gloves. No guarantee was given and I did not expect one, I can only hope they are receptive. The lady answering the phone seemed nice.

We've definitely got Puck Sickness. The post about the moth and the light bulb just cracked me up yesterday. I'm just so addited to this thread. I don't even know why. In the grand scheme of life these are just no big deal. That said, I just can't stay away from this thread for long. Pathetic.

I've heard that all AP's got 3,000 coins. There were two AP's that did not order the coins. I still dont' know what happened with the other 6,000.

Well, I would hope as thousands flow in they give some priority to the first 3,000 at the very least...otherwise, those received last would be on TOP of the pile...and how sick would that be?

At least now I feel (maybe naively) that I at least have as good a chance as the next guy...assuming Fidelitrade hasn't already sold 2,500 of them, that is!

He was not mine, who did send me an official confirmation after I asked. At the very least I was ask to be told (even on the phone) what your "SC" or "sales confirmation" number is because you want to put it on your check.

Got FT's email but no link or file attached as it said. Only way I would know where to get it is from here. I've got mine though from FTB so I'm out and want someone else to get the one set they want. I hope no one here is interested in flipping given how many folks only want one set.

The best they can do is split the mail by day. All of Friday, then Monday, then Tuesday.

If they do that, and Friday is less than 3500, which I think it will be, your in. As the days go by, the less chance you have.

My suggestion is tell family and really really close friends today, tell everyone else Tuesday. image

I agree... my worst case scenario is that I lost a couple hundred. I can (and have) done far worse in Atlantic City & Las Vegas.

On the other hand, I had a great time losing my $ there!

I just looked at some older posts and The Gold Center got 3,700 sets and they come in mostor boxes of 100. We can estimate that most AP's got either 3,600 or 3,700 sets.

If they are making a profit of $90/set can we assume they are pulling in a $324k-$333k profit from the sale of this? To top it off they would be gaining a decent number of new customers.

    Re condition issues and Fidelitrade...

From what I could tell, MTB also wasn't troubling itself with any special packaging (I think they were in regular soft plastic mailing envelopes on Monday)...all I can say is "Hope for the best."

But I would hope that they would at least try to handle them like professionals.

Good grief...ehat a circus...and these people are all in "the business."

Do they throw their regular Eagles across the room before shipping them out?

Knowing the audience that they're dealing with, I think Fidelitrade wants to cover themselves against getting hit by requests for returns and exchanges...and what a nightmare that would be.

I'm sure they'll have at least some minimal packaging in place...maybe not anti-ballistic grade plastic, but at least large flips with some cushioning.

Maybe they can get a special label: "APMEX Hoard"

    and...

Wouldn't it have made life much easier for EVERYONE if the Gold Center, MTB, etc had ALL sold them this way???

No complaining 'cuz they only sold 200 to the public.....no one would know HOW many they sold.....if you didn't get one , well, it was because other orders got there before your's (and maybe 'cuz we sold 90% to the "Big Boys")

Perfect.....no hard feelings....no crashed servers....no "Manpower Assoc." types needed
