From what I could tell, MTB also wasn't troubling itself with any special packaging (I think they were in regular soft plastic mailing envelopes on Monday)...all I can say is "Hope for the best."
But I would hope that they would at least try to handle them like professionals.
Good grief...ehat a circus...and these people are all in "the business."
Do they throw their regular Eagles across the room before shipping them out? >>
MTB is waiting for capsules for the coins that are being shipped. I think the OTC sales were whatever they had handy to protect the coins. >>
That is what they are doing and have told me. At first it was 4-6 weeks but, yesterday, I was told it would be about two weeks after they clear your payment, so maybe they have their capsules now.
<< <i>The Apmex ones were really well packed and no problems at all. One coin has a lot of die polish on the obverse side in one area, otherwise very nice coins from the the first batch at Apmex.. >>
A+ for APMEX shipping and overall order handling. Time will tell if the other AP's can match APMEX. APMEX will be hard to beat!
Geez, just got home and started reading this thread, I was signed up with Fideltrade for an alert weeks ago and never received any message from them today. I am zero for two on alerts as APMEX never sent my alert either, but I sure get a lot of spam from APMEX since I signed up for their alert. I am getting concerned that if I get a set in 2 or 3 weeks the good flip money will be gone, and the conditon will be so poor I will not want to keep them as the APs have had plenty of time to cherrypick these to death. I think I will go to the local rehabilitation clinic and sign up for the pucks anonymous 12 step program.
I sure hope this holds up. I look at it as a $200 gamble as worse case scenario, I can go down to the local B&M and sell for spot of approximately $750.
My check and order form are headed their way for next day delivery.

My first post to this thread too...I got the email from Fidelitrade today...but after reading about the potential poor quality and crapshoot of even getting a set once I mail a check in I'm not sure I'm going to bother. I wonder when the "eBay flipper" train will leave the station...
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

A very serious thank you to those who have kept us informed on the hows and wheres we can obtain these sets. It is nice to see some of you still sharing information. To me it is one of the bright spots in this whole debacle. I have mine and I hope you all get yours, especially those that really want it to keep or use to start a new set, not that the flipping thing bothers me.
My set from apmex was packed incredibly well, I have to believe 3 of my coins are 69s as I can't find a mark on them. Mt Hood has the tiniest 1/4 scuff on the clear edging, and my Hot Springs has a noticeable light 1/2 inch scuff mark also on that clear edge. I'm happy and hope you all end up that way. Good luck!!!

Thank you to all here as well. I decided to send my envelope off today to FideliTrade and will see what happens. I plan on keeping mine too, I just like the idea of them for some reason, there so unique.
I must be special, Fidelitrade called me today to let me know they were for sale. They said they needed my email to send me the PDF file. Strange, they had remembered my phone number and name but forgot my email?? I thanked them for the heads up! Nice people!
For $18+, I want to know the millisecond it lands on Fidelitrade's doorstep!!! >>
I believe you put that string of letter and numbers on your carbon copy in the usps.com tracking box and it should work, that is what I did last time I sent something that way.

Over at Cointalk the fidelitrade form was posted last night, and one person said they have been taking orders for 24 hours, do we think there was a pile of envelopes at their door this morning?
What sucks is those that phoned FideliTrade and got on the list are in no way more likely to get a set over the dealers sending the order form to their masses. If not overnighted today, 0 chance of getting one from them.

Unless somebody hired Superman to spin the world backwards, I don't think anybody could have gotten their order in the mail before today. The Post Office generally closes around 5:30 or 6:00, so if it was posted last night it probably would have been too late to get it into yesterday's mail.
Now...if the form was available before the close of the PO, then, yeah, I guess a few could have made it out, but even Express Mail requires a 4:00 posting to guarantee next day service...

"Coins are of bullion variety and will neither be encapsulated nor specially packaged. The coins may have minor scratches, abrasions, smudges, fingerprints or other imperfections." And you have to sign to that statement (FideliTrade).
Why do I get visions of 5 unprotected five ounce coins being quickly tossed into a large box with no filler to be bounced around the FedEx system for the ride home?

I called Ftrade yesterday afternoon to see if it was possible to set up an account in advance to avoid the MTB faxing frenzy. She said no. I asked when they will start selling. She said that mass emails would go out late this week on Monday. Had they been selling yesterday afternoon when I called she would have told me.
I gave my info to Ftrade long ago as soon as it was clear that they were going to get the pucks. I still have not received an email alert or call. A friend who I had told to call Ftrade w/her contact info long after I signed up emailed me just before first word of the Ftrade sales appeared on this forum telling me of the Ftrade email. Clearly there was no first info give first notified structure to Ftrades emails.
There are likely many who've been on Ftrades email/phone contact list who - unless they follow this or another forum - have no idea that they started selling today. They - esp. if they've been on the list for long - will be ticked to find out that Ftrade is sold out (which will likely happen tomorrow I think) when they didn't even get an email.

$2,700 - $900 = $1,800
$1,800/2 = $900 each for the kickbacker and the kickbackee
Not bad if you multiply $900 x 3,000 sets or so = $2,700,000.
