My Mt Hood, also from AMARK, has that same nasty scratch, except on the other side of the 2010, and twice as long and deep. My AMARK coins are in pretty bad shape.
My Amark coins are PL I think. You can definitely see yourself in them. But I have nothing to compare them to. I will have to wait for my other sets to compare them with.
If you dont ask at least three times, this request will be forgotten in favor of some other senseless whining about why an order wasnt filled immediately.
After zero communication from the beginning with MTB, I called again last Thursday. For me, it's very helpful to have tracking info so I can arrange to have someone here when something is out for delivery.
So anyhow, when I called on Thursday I tried the assumption approach with slight acted out attitude. My reasoning for this was that whoever I talked to might relate to the attitude. The worse that could happen is that they hang up on me again.
Me: I'm calling to get a tracking number for my order. ( I don't even know if it shipped at this point even though it should have)
MTB: What is your reference/order number?
Me: I never received promised information or any information for that matter.
MTB: OK then what is your last name?
Me: Gave last name.
MTB: Hold on ( wow..I have never gotten this far without being hung up on )
MTB: Person comes back about 20 seconds later...It looks like your order shipped the 31st.
Me: Great, may I have a tracking number please?
MTB: No, I don't have time...person hangs up...
I call back Friday morning and talk to a different person.
Me: I'm calling because I need tracking info. I don't have any order information but my last name is (gave last name)
MTB: Didn't you call yesterday?
Me: Yea, I was told to call back today. (Is this what's considered a white lie? If so, I hope everyone here can understand and forgive me)
MTB: Hold on...Person puts me on hold for about 20 seconds, comes back and says "your order shipped UPS ground.
Me: Yes I know...I need a tracking number.
MTB: We're very busy around here, call me back in a half hour.
Me: OK...I call back 40 minutes later and he gives me a tracking number. Yea!!! It was out for delivery, I received it that day.
Today I received the AMark coins. All the coins look fantastic with the obligatory small issues.

A followup on the ten sets for sale from a tubes -
I asked the seller that I was curious where he got the coins from. He did not reveal the source, but responded - "As I understand it, a group of individuals brought together with each purchasing one set. Their proceed are going to a ministry." I get the impression he may be a consignor, doing someone a favor or the like.
Since the ebay listing has the phrase "ministry for the work of the Kingdom", and item location is Williamsville, NY, I googled "Ministry Kingdom, Williamsville, NY.
Anyway, I'm going to cut them some slack. I imagine this is a case where addresses were collected and supplied to fulfill the one per HH rule, whether the tubes came from an AP or not, I don't know.

So, after poolguy shafted me on the PCGS 69FS Hot Springs (per my earlier posts), which also cost me a $1600 offer, I re list and see that the coin sold. Then I see that there is a message from the buyer. Here it is:

Due to a computer glitch on my screeen I misread the listing, and do not wish to purchase this item. I would like to cancel the sale, and will of course reimburse you for any expense incurred in relisting the coin. These pucks are nightmares. The Buyers SUCK. You can't do anything about it. They just keep screwing up my auctions, making me sell later and later in a declining market. They have tons of positive feedback which means exactly NOTHING. AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Good Lord!

I never though about that. I'll have to look at what these guys are selling.
What really ticks me off is that there is just nothing that I can do, no adverse consequences for these jerks. The Ebay buying community just gets worse and worse w/no way to punish horrible buyers or to warn other sellers about them.

Is there a documented disorder in which ebay buyers hit BINs without thinking or reading?
Might have to put in something into the terms saying, "before bidding please write me a summary of these terms so I know you read them." It might help their grammar too.

Yup, and I'd suggest they try selling on the BST, but with a low post count they make not like the terms that people approach them with. (i.e. you send them to me first, then I mail your payment once they are here. )
And this is another sign these things are going to head south in price towards some price above spot. Not that many collectors out there even now.

Not only hit but CONFIRM! The computer glitch made him hit BIN and confirm? Beyond B.S. You have to wonder how many of the "sold" auctions have had this happen. I'd bet a lot. W/the old feedback system this stuff would not happen.

Like you, I've been at this for a few years. I had no illusions about the falling prices as has been discussed extensively.
What has really taken me by surprise are the horrible buyers. I was not expecting this. I've not seen this before even when other hyped issues fell through the floor.
As to the pucks that I don't intend to keep for my collection, I plan to grade them. If the high-grade ones fall to just over spot, I'll just hold (unless the secondarys offer descent money). At AP issue, it's just silver - albeit at high spot - but nothing I can't just hold indefinitely. If they come back in time great. If not, no big deal....

If it makes you feel any better, my wife sold a baby quilt on ebay today and the buyer backed out after payment with the excuse that her husband had a tooth ache over the weekend and ended up getting a root canal and now she can't afford the quilt and wants her money back. Replace quilt with ATB silver coins and it all sounds the same. I really believe that ebay is becoming an infestation of buyers that know they have all the rights. Its a real shame. As if the fees weren't enough to dissuade a person to sell on ebay, now they give all the rights to the buyers. I plan on taking the next "backout buyer" to the cleaners. I will risk it all and hold their money to the very end of any possible resolution. Bring it on backout buyers!!!
Despite all the unnecessary hell thanks to the APs, I'm quite pleased with the pucks I've received to date...and plan to pass them along to the thieving kids after they plant me 6 feet under.

Not that I know of, but I don't remember a individual thread. There has been a few people who have posted their blocked buyers list in the past as part of a thread. Check with a search
Just a reminder HSN will air the Coin Collector tonight featuring the Coin King himself at 3am Eastern. Check your local listings for channel number. I hear he MAY have the MS 70 ANACS set tonight, or it may have to wait until the next show if he doesn't have it yet.

<< <i>WTF??????? WHAT is going on here. A glitch on his screen led him to buy the coin AND to confirm the purchase? I don't think so! What B.S. I've NEVER had ANY problem selling on Ebay. These pucks are nightmares. The Buyers SUCK. You can't do anything about it. They just keep screwing up my auctions, making me sell later and later in a declining market. They have tons of positive feedback which means exactly NOTHING. AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Good Lord!
Oh yea, you may want to BLOCK THIS JERK!
Probably other ebay sellers of the pucks sabatoging your listings. Just kidding. Sorry to hear. >>
I never though about that. I'll have to look at what these guys are selling.
What really ticks me off is that there is just nothing that I can do, no adverse consequences for these jerks. The Ebay buying community just gets worse and worse w/no way to punish horrible buyers or to warn other sellers about them.
....maybe not

So, after poolguy shafted me on the PCGS 69FS Hot Springs (per my earlier posts), which also cost me a $1600 offer, I re list and see that the coin sold. Then I see that there is a message from the buyer. Here it is:
Dear t4biophage,
Due to a computer glitch on my screeen I misread the listing, and do not wish to purchase this item. I would like to cancel the sale, and will of course reimburse you for any expense incurred in relisting the coin. I am very sorry for this, but we have new computers which were installed last week, and they are taking some getting used to.

this one reads like he misreead the listing. unfortunately the person is also a poor liar. it's hard to believe the insanity.
<< <i>Don't fret too much....soon they will ALL be back buying little metal soldiers and the pucks will be back to the coin people....

I think once the money mania dies down they will be selling to the collectors.
lots of signs of flipping for profit: tGC, flipping a flip, people with little coin knowledge clamoring for them, etc.
I want some interviews from those that bought them for over $2000.
Might have to put in something into the terms saying, "before bidding please write me a summary of these terms so I know you read them." It might help their grammar too.

<< <i>Basically the endless WHINING AND CRYING of the multitude of forum members (mostly new) that are now getting nervous about getting OUT of their sets they never intended on keeping but rather FLIPPING.
You win some, you lose some. >>
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Not only hit but CONFIRM! The computer glitch made him hit BIN and confirm? Beyond B.S. You have to wonder how many of the "sold" auctions have had this happen. I'd bet a lot. W/the old feedback system this stuff would not happen.

Hey wanted to say thanks to pitboss for his giveaway. Wooohooo i received the coin today AAA++++ I think I am done buying anymore sets. Finally got a letter from prudential,s depository and sent them a check for 50 bucks to ship what I think will be my last. Sorry to hear your having such a bad time trying to get rid of one set. I have not heard yet but I bet this leads to 1000 new posts with whining and complaining

If it really was to help a Christian ministry then I hope the seller realizes that the first importance is that they be honest about things. I have my doubts about the honesty here in all their claims. >>
Yup, sure enough -
Kingdom Bound Ministries Inc
8550 Sheridan Drive # 2
Williamsville, NY 14221-6237
You can read about them here - KBM
Anyway, I'm going to cut them some slack. I imagine this is a case where addresses were collected and supplied to fulfill the one per HH rule, whether the tubes came from an AP or not, I don't know. >>
Maybe you should let him know that he should show some pics of the tubes and he'll probably get more for his coins.
bidding on $1600 pucks....come on. probably should be worried where the next meal is coming from.
this guy f'd me, no this guy, another guy, block them all!!!!!!
we all could say - we told you so.......this was gonna be a great run up and on the other side, a crash.
this will get even crazier in the next few weeks, you havent seen nothin yet.
my advice? sell your extra sets to secondary dealers at wholesale. cash. out the door.
Share honest Feedback to help members buy and sell with confidence.
How can you sell with confidence when you will never know the buyer is a pos that gets buyer's remorse when he finds a set for sale for $1 less...

How's everyone else's COIN COLLECTING going?
<< <i>Has anyone confirmed that the Fidelitrade sets will be sent Tuesday? >>
When I tried to cancel my order last week I was told my set was in the first batch going out tomorrow. Needless to say it was too late to cancel eventhough that was on Wednesday.
<< <i>How's everyone else's COIN COLLECTING going? >>
Having a heck of a time finding a nice, original $2.50 liberty gold piece...
<< <i>Would it be against the rules here to create a thread to post blocked ebayer lists? >>
Not that I know of, but I don't remember a individual thread. There has been a few people who have posted their blocked buyers list in the past as part of a thread. Check with a search
I hear he MAY have the MS 70 ANACS set tonight, or it may have to wait until the next show if he doesn't have it yet.
