Topps won't ship until March 15, so we don't know yet.
Wondering if anyone takes a look at the most recent redeemed cards list? Noticed lately the cards seem to be older cards, the last 10 had nothing older then a 1970! Included a 1959 and 1961 hi=mumber (commons, but still!). This is encouraging, as the list usually is filled with 1987's.
Thanks guys. I don't collect baseball (only fb), but think that it's a cool idea that Topps came up with. Hopefully you guys get some nice, mint vintage cards!
Rgs,
Greg M.

Dont worry when i get my lot of 60 in the mail. the 1987 topps will be showing up again.. I havent even been offered a trade yet lol. thats how bad my first 20 cards are..

Thats were my 200 came from. Made a Best offer for $100 and bought 2 lots. He had them for $124.95 on Tuesday night. He had accepted by the time I got up Wednesday and the whole thing exploded for $2.75-$3 a card.
That being said only got to redeem 70 last night as I went to a country concert. Now I am at work (damn you tax season!) but I did bring 30 with me
Of the ones I redeemed last night only like 10 were from the 80s or newer. The rest all from 1959-1974. Best pull was a 1967 Don Sutton. Some other highlights: 1. 1960 Billy Martin 2. 1966 Felipe Alou 3. 1967 AL Strikeout Leaders '66 (McDowell, Kaat, Earl Wilson) 4. 1969 Jim Lonborg (cool shot of the Green Monster in the background) 5. 1970 Dick Bosman 6. 1971 Willie Horton 7. 1973 Don Sutton 8. 1973 ERA Leaders '72 (Carlton & Tiant) 9. 1974 Nolan (Gary Nolan that is....)
Going do the last 30, crank out some returns, go home do the rest I promise a full report tonight! Thanks for the well wishes.
Ok so did the last 30 nothing newer than 73! Wow! Nothing older than 1959, but I'd probably make that trade off every day to avoid the late 80s to now junk. Highlights: 1. 1960 Cincy Clouters (with Frank Robinson) 2. 1964 Matty Alou (just need Jesus and my 60s Alou trifecta will be complete!) 3. 1965 '64 World Series Game 4 4. 1967 Don Kessinger (hey he was an All-Star!) 5. 1970 Ed Spiezio (high number, #718) 6. 1972 AL Batting Leaders '71 (Olivia, Murcer, and Rettenmund)
I dont generally bust packs but after reading the forum I had to get in on it. After spending $21 at TRU for a mini box or whatever you call them, I got one of the redemption cards. My Prize:
Out and about this morning I managed to accumulate 43 more at the local card stores - 20 from one and 23 from the others
Just redeemed 16 to get my fix
1960 Jim Kaat Rookie Stars 1964 Bill Monbouquette 1964 Chuck Dressen 1968 Jose Santiago 1975 Ed Kranepool
then the 76s took over:
Hank Aaron Record Breaker Dennis Blair Manny Mota Ron Reed World Series Champs card Jerry Remy Pete Rose John Candelaria Strikeout leaders Andy Etchebaren
and a 1977 Jose Cruz
Had to stop after that so other people can get some 76s too
zep, I'd hold those others a bit. Don't know if they're on a 70's kick now but it seems more 70's are on the recently redeemed...which might mean 80's and 90's next. I'd wait to see if there is a run of 50's on there and then go to town

Maybe you can trade those other 54 cards for 1 of something?
Here's my updated list (today's additions are in BOLD): 1963 Jope Cunningham (they misspelled "Joe" on the TM website) 1963 Ron Perranoski 1966 John O'Donoghue 1967 Stu Miller 1968 John Donaldson 1970 Jerry Adair 1972 Ken Boswell (In Action) 1972 Babe Ruth Award Card 1973 Tony Perez 1973 Phil Niekro 1983 Alan Knicely 1984 Von Hayes 1985 Ralph Houk 1985 Chili Davis 1985 Eric Davis 1987 Kirby Puckett (base) 1987 Tony Gwynn (base) 1987 Teddy Higuera (AS) 1990 Vince Coleman 2001 Jose Silva 2005 Mike MacDougal
I received these in trades already: 1993 Cal Ripken Jr. 1995 Cal Ripken Jr. 2000 Cal Ripken Jr.
why does Steve Carlton always have a look on his face like he's watching his family being tortured??? Man i really want to get some of these. i have a feeling the BIG BIG stuff will be found in series 2.... This is an ingenious idea by Topps. I wouldn't be surprised if the print run rivals that of 1987T also!! at roughly 60-72 per case jumbo/wax respectively, that's around 14000 cases, so not even close. still a smart idea
well I just bought a whole bunch, I might hold off on entering until series two is out. They average me about 2.35 with shipping and everything included. Probably a severe waste of money, but it saves me from buying more jumbo boxes, sorting cards, common kindling, etc, and with my couple of decent pulls it was fun to get into the modern scramble again.
The website list at toppsmillion lists a recent sample of ten & 9 are '73 or '75; all my cards today (6 total - 3 '73 & 3 '75) and about 80% of what's been posted today are 73's.& '75. I assumed that every code was linked to a specific card, but I'm seriously thinking that's not the case.
I guess it beats 88 topps. I'm holding my last 3 until I see a run on toppsmillion or the blogs show a push towards the 50's & 60's. (Or the run of Mantles)

The cards seem to be going in runs, yesterday there were a bunch of 1960's, today 1970's, probably a good idea to hold a little while. Thought the same thing about each code being linked to a specific card, but the coding would probably take forever. They may just verify that the code is good and then randomly select a card ?
Wow, if that's the case, someone has to take one for the team to get to the 50's stuff! Haha, I'll probably head to the local HTA shop and buy a jumbo box or something and see if he has any freebies. Here is my updated list:
1971 64 1970 RBI Leaders (Bench, Perez, Williams) 1972 156 Minnesota Twins Team 1973 114 Lynn McGlothen 1973 166 Terry Harmon 1973 650 Felipe Alou 1974 223 Jeff Burroughs 1975 59 Ken Henderson 1975 250 Ken Brett

I see that in series 2, they are adding T-206 cards to the Million card giveaway. Do you think the fever for the redemption cards will still be high by then (may 24th), or if you are selling redemption cards (before redeeming them), it's better to buy series 1 and sell them now?
Series 2 Jumbo case pre-sells are considerably less than Series 1 cases are going for now.
And do you think Jumbos or regular hobby wax are the better deal - Series 1 jumbos at $620, Hobby case at $810?
<< <i> And do you think Jumbos or regular hobby wax are the better deal - Series 1 jumbos at $620, Hobby case at $810? >>
seems like adding t206 would only increase the frenzy in my opinion. I think the biggest thing they need to do to keep people exciting and involved with this whole thing is to improve the trading system. I sent them an email in regards to it. Right now if you want to offer for lets randomly say a 1981 Topps Alan Trammel you have to make 383 different trade offers and hope that one of those people not only check their trade offer page, but also accept your offer....
Why on earth they didn't set up some sort of trade offer notification option or show the card only one time in the trade offer page so by making the offer once, the offer is available to all 383 people.
I agree with you about the trading system. They need to make it very easy, because that is what will keep up interest in this. The biggest thing of all would probably have been if these cards were STAMPED or something like this - it's not known if they are doing this, right? You would have a lot more redemptions being mailed back to people, rather than just the virtual world. That would be more money for Topps.

that would be nice, along with being able to sort the years you are looking through by card # instead of the players first name.

Why on earth they didn't set up some sort of trade offer notification option or show the card only one time in the trade offer page so by making the offer once, the offer is available to all 383 people.

And do you think Jumbos or regular hobby wax are the better deal - Series 1 jumbos at $620, Hobby case at $810? >>
seems like adding t206 would only increase the frenzy in my opinion. that would be nice, along with being able to sort the years you are looking through by card # instead of the players first name.
Takes forever to get to the letter R on some of those sets
